Abstract In heat pump cycles, heat is supplied to the working fluid from a certain group of low-temperature bodies and transferred to a group of high-temperature bodies, i.e. the heat source is at a lower temperature and the heat sink at a higher temperature. Using the method of circular processes, in synergy with the possibility of mutual conversion of thermal and mechanical interactions, the process of heat transfer from a lower temperature level to a higher temperature level is enabled. Mechanical work, which, as compensation, should be given by the environment to the system (working substance), is a difference between heat removed and heat supplied. The efficiency of the heat pump mostly depends on the temperature interval at which the process takes place, however, the efficiency of the heat pump is also affected by the thermodynamic parameters of its parts: compressor, condenser, throttle valve, and evaporator. In this paper, the influence of condensing temperature and compressor efficiency on the efficiency of the system as a whole is examined. The calculation was performed for two working substances, R123 and R134a, using the EES software package (Engineering Equation Solver) which is used for numerical modeling of thermodynamic systems, process optimization, and making process diagrams.

The element distribution and the microstructures of directionally solidified ingots of Ti-45Al-8Nb and Ti-46Al-8Nb alloys were studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) equipped with wavelength-dispersive X-ray spectroscope (WDS). At high solidification rates, e.g., more than 50 μm/s, the ingot solidified in columnar β dendrites, while at low solidification rates, e.g., less than 30 μm/s, the solidification path changed from initial β solidification to L + β→α peritectic solidification, forming cellular dendrites with the β phase matrix surrounded by the α phase. The difference of Ti content in dendritic arms and interdendritic regions was not pronounced. The composition segregation was mainly caused by the mutual conversion of Al and Nb contents. Therefore, it was difficult to distinguish the variation of Ti in microstructure by EPMA-WDS map and line profiles. The composition of the peritectic α phase was different from that of the α phase transformed directly from the β phase. The Al content of the former was about 1 at% higher than that of the latter, while the Nb content was about 1 at% lower. The change of solidification path in the final solidified part resulted from the more severe segregation caused by slow solidification.

Most metabolites of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), especially exo-AFB1-8,9-epoxide (AFBO), can induce the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) to vary degrees, causing oxidative stress and liver damage, and ultimately induce liver cancer in humans and animals. Duck is one of the most sensitive animals to AFB1, and severe economic losses are caused by duck AFB1 poisoning every year, but the exact mechanism of this high sensitivity is still unclear. This review highlights significant advances in our understanding of the AFB1 metabolic activation, like cytochrome P450s (CYPs), and AFB1 metabolic detoxification, like glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) in poultry. In addition, AFB1 may have other metabolic pathways in poultry, such as the mutual conversion of AFB1 and aflatoxicol (AFL) and the process of AFBO to produce AFB1-8,9-dihydrodiol (AFB1-dhd) and further metabolize it into detoxification substances. This review also summarized some exogenous regulatory substances that can alleviate AFB1-induced oxidative stress.

In recent years, with the development of society and the rapid development of the animation industry, people are paying more and more attention to and requirements for animation production. As an indispensable part of animation production, picture composition plays a major role in animation production. It can give full play to the application of color matching and light and shadow design and enhance the depth and space of the animation screen. Tone space conversion refers to the conversion or representation of color data in one color space into corresponding data in another color space. Its purpose is to distinguish and process color components such as hue and saturation in an image. This article first introduces the domestic and foreign research status of digital image preprocessing and analyzes the basic principles of several color space conversions in detail. Then, several color space conversion algorithms are studied, and the performance of the algorithms is compared and analyzed. The paper focuses on the hardware implementation and optimization of the algorithm for converting RGB color space into HSI color space to meet the real-time requirements. This article focuses on the mutual conversion between the RGB tone space and the HSI tone space and describes in detail how each color component in the HSI tone space is converted from the three RGB color components from a geometric perspective, and then the conversion is derived, and several general conversion methods of RGB to HSI tone space are introduced; two conversion methods of geometric derivation method and standard modulus algorithm are implemented in the software, and the comparison verification is carried out, and the comparison is made from the perspective of hardware implementation. The pros and cons of the two methods are discussed. Finally, the paper summarizes the shortcomings in the design and proposes further research directions in the future.

A heterogeneous Cu(II)-AOFs catalyst, Cu(II) supported on amidoxime fibers (AOFs), is successfully applied to the cross-dehydrogenative coupling of aromatic terminal alkynes and N,N-dimethylanilines to form propargylamines. The Cu(II)-AOFs catalyst shows high catalytic activity with the yields of the corresponding propargylamines reaching 90% at 70 °C for 4 h without the protection of an inert gas. The Cu(II)-AOFs coordinate with the imine ion intermediate generated during the reaction, making the coupling facile. X-ray photoelectron spectrometer, scanning electron microscope, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy results show that Cu(II) successfully coordinates with N and O atoms on the surface of the fibers with the mutual conversion between monovalent and divalent Cu in the Cu-AOFs being the catalytically active center. The catalyst can be recycled more than four times, and the catalytic activity is not obviously reduced. This process represents a new pathway for the formation of propargylamines using a Cu(II)-AOFs catalyst.

Originally spurred by determination to bring the Manchester authorities to justice in the aftermath of the Peterloo massacre, Henry Hunt persisted in seeking to gain election for the popular constituency of Preston. Eventually successful in 1830, he entered parliament pledged to present every petition sent to him, including that from Mary Smith calling for female suffrage. Having provided a rational vindication of the rights of women, her petition descended into a diatribe against married men who indulged in homosexual acts to the despair of their suicidal wives. This was a thinly veiled reference to alleged goings on in the household of the radical journalist William Cobbett. This article seeks to place in context the allegations and subsequent heated controversy by examining the long-term relationship between Hunt and Cobbett, dating back to the early nineteenth century and their mutual conversion from loyalism to radicalism. Already strained by the longstanding animus of Cobbett’s wife towards Hunt on account of his adulterous domestic circumstances, the radical allies were increasingly at odds in the years after Peterloo, divided over political and personal issues in a bewildering and increasingly unrestrained manner. Jealous of Hunt’s electoral success at Preston and furious with his radical condemnation of the Reform Bill, Cobbett inveighed against the ‘Preston Cock’. Hunt responded in kind, repeating allegations soon taken up in Mary Smith’s petition. Historians have simply noted how the petition was greeted with derision, but as this article shows, it merits deeper study. An early milestone on the long journey to secure votes for women, Mary Smith’s petition reveals political, personal and sexual divisions in early nineteenth-century radicalism - over feminism, homosexuality and adultery - attitudes and prejudices which inhibited any decisive pre-Victorian advance beyond manhood suffrage. The article concludes with a postscript noting Hunt’s fall from favour as the Reform Bill was passed, losing his Preston seat in the first election under the new propertied franchise. He died shortly thereafter but was rehabilitated and revered a few years later by the Chartists. His presentation of the first petition for female suffrage has seemingly been lost from history.
