AbstractTransfemoral access for neurointerventions has been a time-tested technique of entering the vascular network of the body and reaching the intended targets. However, it has its own share of shortcomings in the form of long admission times leading to increased costs, patient inconvenience and local (though infrequent) adverse affects. Transradial route has taken the interventional cardiology domain by storm and is staring now at other vascular domains especially neurointervention. It has shown better outcomes than the transfemoral route in many aspects. The current article discusses the vascular access perspectives with an exhaustive overview of the transradial route concerning its historical perspectives, its requirement in the current clinical scenario, the procedure per se including the adverse effects and whether it has the real world charm to displace the transfemoral route into the backseat. Transradial access in neurointervention is here to stay, however it would require training, certain modifications in the standard catheters that one currently uses for cerebral procedures and constant practice by the operator to cross the learning curve and attain a certain level of competence before he becomes comfortable with the technique.

This article advocates that spoken language is learned only when genuine communication and exposure occur, not when it is practiced simply as a set of structures or only when its grammar is learned. This research study demonstrates the possibility of exploring novel approaches to inspire non-native EFL learners in the Al-Qassim region of Saudi Arabia to master communication skills by establishing a linguistic club named English Café to showcase their spoken proficiency. The study sample consisted of undergraduates from level 1 and level 2 from the first year of the B.A. program. The methodology adopted was a descriptive-analytical method using a questionnaire and spoken activities to achieve the desired objectives. One major finding was that participants improved their communicative competence by participating in pronunciation and speaking activities through constant motivation, preferred learning style, self-interest, and willingness to participate naturally with expert guidance initially and constant practice after that.

Leaving wealth for pious and charitable purposes has been a constant practice of the old Romanian law. However, did it also had a legal basis to support or encourage it? How can it be explained that only in 1924 an express regulation of foundations was created, six decades apart from the entry into force of Cuza's Civil Code? What is the current situation? All these questions are meant to identify answers that clarify a primary issue: is there any continuity solution in ensuring an adequate legal framework for encouraging and validating testamentary foundations in Romanian law.

In this essay, we consider what musical improvisation can offer humanists interested in interdisciplinary cultural study. We begin by exploring our shared backgrounds as jazz-informed percussionists and our coincidental meeting in the same interdisciplinary graduate program. In the process, we identify key homologies between our musical and scholarly practices: namely, careful and constant practice; a deep commitment to listening; and an openness to conceptual translations across a variety of contexts. As we unpack these ideas, we draw on a wide range of artistic-theoretical texts, years of after-hours conversations, and occasional music collaboration; ultimately, we articulate, for each other and potential readers, that the dynamic, collaborative ethic required for successful improvisation nurtures scholarly interdisciplinary practice by valuing individual efforts as part of communal strivings.

‘Language learning’ is a continuous process, and the learners have to focus on the various aspects of the language whether it is Tamil, English or any other language. In the process of learning, the learners commit errors while speaking and writing. Through constant practice and proper usage, they gradually avoid errors in their language. It is not possible for a teacher or a learner to get rid of this problem without practicing the language. As far as the Tamil language is concerned, it is learnt as a foreign language in some countries and as a second language in other states of India. The concept of "error" has become one of the major problems in language learning. In this article an attempt is made to examine the important dimensions of Error Analysis, with specific reference to the errors produced by learners of Tamil as a second language at Gauhati University. The paper deals with the scope of Tamil language-learning in Assam and the explanations of different categories of language error committed by students and the solution to the error.

There are a limited number of studies focusing on the mechanisms explaining why variable practice gives an advantage in a novel situation and constant practice in performance in trained conditions. We hypothesized that this may be due to the different gaze behavior that is developed under different conditions. Twenty participants, randomly assigned to two different groups, practiced basketball free throws for three consecutive days, performing 100 throws per day. The constant group (n = 10) practiced at a free throw distance (4.57 m) only. The variable practice group (n = 10) randomly performed 20 shots per five throw distances (3.35, 3.96, 4.57, 5.18, and 5.79 m) on each day, also accumulating 100 shots per day. We analyzed the total gaze fixation duration, a number of fixations, and the average fixation duration on a basketball rim in a pretest and posttest at the 4.57 m distance. We computed a linear mixed model with test (pretest–posttest), group (constant–variable), and test × group interaction in order to analyze the total fixation duration and number of fixations. The average fixation duration was analyzed with a repeated measure two-way ANOVA, with practice conditions as a between-participants factor and test type as a within-participants factor. We found that the total fixation duration increased significantly in the posttest, regardless of the practice conditions (p < 0.001, effect size = 0.504). The number of fixations also increased significantly in the posttest (p = 0.037, effect size = 0.246). The average fixation duration increased in both groups; however, insignificantly. We also did not find any significant differences between groups. Our results suggest that variable and constant practice conditions may lead to the development of similar gaze behavior.

In this paper, I intend to focus on some rhetorical strategies of argumentation which play crucial role in the therapeutic discourse of Roman Stoicism, namely in Musonius Rufus, Epictetus, Seneca, and Marcus Aurelius. Reference is made to Chaim Perelman’s view of ancient rhetoric as an art of inventing arguments. Moreover, it is pointed out that in rhetorical education (cf. Cicero, Ad Herennium, Quintilian, etc.) as well as in therapeutic discourse the concept of “exercise” and constant practice play a crucial role.

Graphite is a component of graphite-containing dust – one of wastes, formed at metallurgical plants. From the other side, it is a scare resource for the Russian industry. Involvement of graphite-containing wastes into processing can contribute to solving actual problems of resource, economic and ecological significance. Study of the graphite wastes utilization possibility showed an absence of constant practice of their processing at domestic metallurgical plants. The work of graphite department of Magnitogorsk steel-works (MMK) can be one of not numerous examples of the graphite dust processing at the same plant. At the department the processing of graphite-containing dust of accomplished, the dust being collected from 90 kg/h productivity gas cleaning systems of BOF shop. As a result of processing graphite concentrate obtained after flotation and iron powder – after magnetic separation. At the Department “Minerals enrichment” of the Magnitogorsk State Technical University after G.I. Nosov, the theory of graphite flotation is being elaborated under the direction of Professor V.B. Chizhevsky for many years. Besides study of graphite ores washability, which are difficult to be enriched is also carried out. Based on the gained extensive experience on perfection of reagent flotation modes for the graphite ores, it was recommended to use first VKP reagent at the MMK graphite department, and next – RAS foam formation agent, which is a refined sodium alkylartile-sulfonate. At the industrial tests, the RAS foam formation agent consumption was two times as lower comparing with industrial reagent mode, resulting in obtaining higher technological flotation indices. The experience of metallurgical plant graphite-containing dust processing can be used at both the MMK graphite department re-operation and at other plants of the industry for obtaining marketable products of high quality, that can meet requirements not only metallurgical plants, but also used for production of state-of-the-art carbon materials.
