Abstract In spite of its accurate prediction of the experimental outcomes of double-hole single particle interference, quantum mechanics does not provide a phenomenological description of the individual realizations of the experiment. By defining a non-locality function and considering the non-paraxial solution of the time-independent Schrödinger equation by the Green’s theorem, we introduce a geometrical potential which leads to an outstanding result. The geometric potential allows the description of spatially structured Lorentzian wells in the volume between the double-hole mask and the detector. The buildup of the interference patterns results from the confined propagation of single particles through these Lorentzian wells. The phenomenological implications of this description are discussed and illustrated by numerical examples, and its compatibility with quantum mechanical predictions is also shown. A further, non-trivial advantage of this model over the conventional formalism, is that the present quantum probability density can be exactly calculated both in the near and far field conditions.

In the 4.0 context, machines gradually replace humans in most fields. The job market becomes depleted in inverse proportion to the abundant human resources. With hundreds of thousands of people unemployed each year, the rate of competition for job vacancies increases accordingly. Countless impacts decline the performance rating, causing fatal flaws that lead to a poor impression on the employers. Employers will receive countless Curriculum Vitals (CVs) to choose from for a job vacancy. How to surpass the competition and catch the eye of employers? This survey was conducted to discover and analyze the difficulties of applying for a job besides participating in a job interview in Ho Chi Minh City. Besides, the author wants to provide a comprehensive insight into recruitment and human resources in this city. A total of 125 candidates were selected from different professions in Ho Chi Minh City to collect information for this survey. Information collected from the questionnaires consisting of 11 small questions was coded and analyzed quantitatively. The final analysis pointed out the objective and subjective factors affecting the application process. In addition, the psychological abnormality affecting the ability to communicate in answering of the interviewers' questions was an outstanding result in the survey. Due to these factors, most of the candidates were rejected from job vacancies. Employers in Ho Chi Minh City consider human resources with a lot of working experience and relationships as an advantage. The goal of this survey that aims to aid candidates in awareness of their problems enhances the success rate in conquering employers.

RF switches, which use a combination of graphene and two-dimensional high-density electron gas (2DEG) in the AlGaN/GaN system, were proposed and studied in the frequency band from 10 MHz to 114.5 GHz. The switches were integrated into the coplanar waveguide, which allows them to be used in any system without the use of, e.g., bonding, flip-chip and other technologies and avoiding the matching problems. The on-state insertion losses for the designed switches were measured to range from 7.4 to 19.4 dB, depending on the frequency and switch design. Although, at frequencies above 70 GHz, the switches were less effective, the switching effect was still evident with an approximately 4 dB on–off ratio. The best switches exhibited rise and fall switching times of ~25 ns and ~17 ns, respectively. The use of such a switch can provide up to 20 MHz of bandwidth in time-modulated systems, which is an outstanding result for such systems. The proposed equivalent circuit describes well the switching characteristics and can be used to design switches with required parameters.

Previous phyllotaxis models allowed the initiation of new primordia when a threshold of inhibition potential is reached on the meristem front: their adequacy to botanical reality is only qualitative. We formulated the hypothesis that it is not the value of the inhibition threshold that remains constant as the meristem develops, but the difference of the inhibition thresholds during the initiation of two successive primordia. We were thus able to model with accuracy the sequence of plastochron ratios observed by Williams (1975) on the leaf meristem of flax: an outstanding result. More generally, we have shown that the evolution trajectories of the phyllotaxis modes as a function of the plastochron ratios follow the minima of the potential under decreasing plastochron ratios constraint and bifurcate when the number of these minima increases, thus giving physicochemical foundations to the famous van Iterson diagram. This historical representation of rising phyllotaxis shows the trajectories, but doesnt give the velocity of the movement: our plastochron ratio sequence adds this major dynamical information.

An investigation dedicated to evaluating a big issue in biorefineries, solid impurity in raw sugarcane, is presented. This relevant industrial sector requests a high-frequency, low-cost, and noninvasive method. Then, the developed method uses the averaged color values of ten color-scale descriptors: R (red), G (green), B (blue), their relative colors (r, g, and b), H (hue), S (saturation), V (value) and L (luminosity) from digital images acquired from 146 solid mixtures among sugarcane stalks and solid impurity vegetal parts (green and dry leaves) and soil. The solid mixture of samples was prepared considering desirable and undesirable scenarios for the solid impurity amounts. The outstanding result was revealed by an artificial neural network (ANN), achieving 100% of accurate classifications for two ranges of raw sugarcane in the samples: from 90 to 100 wt% and from 41 to 87 wt%. Low-computational cost and a simple setup for image acquisition method could screen solid impurity in sugarcane shipments as a promising application.

This paper evaluates the key factors influencing the design of optical wireless communication (OWC) systems operating in the mid-infrared range. The performed analysis has shown that working in this spectral “window”, compared to other wavelengths, is more effective in reducing the attenuation of radiation. The main goal was to verify the capabilities of the “on-shelf” interband cascade (IC) laser in the context of OWC system construction, considering its output power, modulation rate, room temperature operation, and integrated structure. For this purpose, a lab model of a data link with IC laser has been developed. Based on its main parameters, the estimation of signal-to-noise power ratio versus data link range was made. That range was about 2 km for a case of low scintillation and relatively low visibility. In the experimental part of the work, the obtained modulation rate was 70 MHz for NRZ (non-return-to-zero) format coding. It is an outstanding result taking into consideration IC laser operated at room temperature.

Introduction: Scoring systems have been used successfully in burn centers to predict the prognosis and take measures for careful monitoring of the burned patient. Belgium Outcome Burn Injury score is one of them which takes into consideration age, burn surface area, and presence of inhalation burn. Objectives: This presentation aims to validate the use of the BOBI prognostic score in our patients. Patients and Methods: The study is a retrospective analytical study that utilized the investigation of the medical charts of 1515 patients hospitalized with severe burns within the ICU of the Service of Burns in Tirana, Albania during 2010-2019. Results: The overall mortality of our patients was 7.06% (107 deaths in 1515 patients). Up to BOBI score 6, we have noticed better mortality than prediction while there is a very good prediction up to score 10. Area Under the Curve was 0.978 (p<0.0001) which is an outstanding result in being a classifier between deaths and survivors. Conclusions: BOBI score is a very good prediction score for mortality in burn patients.

Abstract Over the past 50 years demand for plastics drastically increased worldwide resulting in plastic wastes causing serious environmental problems. The main market sector of European plastics industry is the packaging industry most of which are polyolefins and poly(ethylene-terephtalate). In the EU, 29.1 million tonnes of plastic waste were collected in 2018, of which 32.5% was recycled, 42.6% was recovered for energy, and 24.9% was landfilled (Plastics-the Facts, 2019). Although landfilling of collected waste in the EU is steadily declining, there is still too much unused waste. Polymer blends based on waste resources can solve the issues of recycling. The main purpose of the research was to produce polymer blends from waste based PET that have appropriate mechanical properties and rheological behaviour as well in order to find application areas where product requirements are not strict. Blends containing waste based PET were extrusion moulded and calenderd producing extrusion strings and films. Rheological and tensile properties of three types of PET/engineering thermoplastic blends (PET/PC, PET/PA and PET/ABS) were studied. Miscibility of components of the blends is limited leading to weak mechanical properties such as low tensile strength and/or elongation at break. Due to that phenomenon compatibilizing additives are also required. As compatibilizing additives olefin-maleic-anhydride copolymer based additives have been used in our experiments. Structure of additives differed from each other both in ratio and length of carbon chains of compounds linked to maleic-anhydride groups. Blends have been studied with PET content ranging from 10 to 90%. As an outstanding result improving of mechanical properties was achieved, for example almost 40% growth was observed in elongation at break of extruded 80/20 PET/PA blends in the presence of 0.2% compatibilizing additive compared to the sample without additive, meanwhile its strength has also improved. Abstract Understanding the brain is important in the fields of science, medicine, and engineering. A promising approach to better understand the brain is through computing models. These models were adjusted to reproduce data collected from the brain. One of the most commonly used types of data in neuroscience comes from electroencephalography (EEG), which records the tiny voltages generated when neurons in the brain are activated. In this study, we propose a model based on complex networks of weakly connected dynamical systems (Hindmarsh–Rose neurons or Kuramoto oscillators), set to operate in a dynamic regime recognized as Collective Almost Synchronization (CAS). Our model not only successfully reproduces EEG data from both healthy and epileptic EEG signals, but it also predicts EEG features, the Hurst exponent, and the power spectrum. The proposed model is able to forecast EEG signals 5.76 s in the future. The average forecasting error was 9.22%. The random Kuramoto model produced the outstanding result for forecasting seizure EEG with an error of 11.21%.

This article examines the corruption effects on economic growth in Tunisia during the period 1987 to 2016. The model used in this study is an extension of Solow's model by defining corruption in the field of technical progress. In order to delineate the role of the human capital in corruption, the study sets out to estimate the model firstly in the absence and in the presence of human capital. One outstanding result of VECM estimations is that, in the long run, the human capital plays a key role in the increase of the effect of the total corruption and the decrease in the effect of the growth of the population without effecting a change in the physical capital. In the short term, human capital allows to transform the negative effect of the delayed variable output into a positive one. It also increased the effect of total corruption and made the effect of physical capital positive.
