Abstract In this paper, we propose a coupled awareness - epidemic spreading model considering the heterogeneity of individual influences, which aims to explore the interaction between awareness diffusion and epidemic transmission. The considered heterogeneity of individual influences are threefold: the heterogeneity of individual influences in the information layer, the heterogeneity of individual influences in the epidemic layer and the heterogeneity of individual behavioral responses to epidemics. In addition, the individuals' receptive preference for information and the impacts of individuals' perceived local awareness ratio and individuals' perceived epidemic severity on self-protective behavior are included. The epidemic threshold is theoretically established according to the microscopic Markov chain approach and mean-field approach. Results indicate that the critical local and global awareness ratios have two-stage effects on the epidemic threshold. Besides, either the heterogeneity of individual influences in the information layer or the strength of individuals' responses to epidemics can influence the epidemic threshold with a nonlinear way. However, the heterogeneity of individual influences in the epidemic layer has few effect on the epidemic threshold, but can affects the magnitude of the final infected density.

As awareness of the negative externalities created by ports increases, and the perceived local benefits decrease, ports must find new ways to improve the local noneconomic benefits they provide if they are to obtain local support. This global survey collected data from 51 ports in 26 countries. The results highlight a recognition by port authorities that ports face increasing pressure from local residents to reduce their negative impacts and that they should seek to improve the public perception towards the port by increasing local benefits. At present, port information and social media (81%), port events (67%) and education (63%) are the most adopted options. There is a lack of evidence that these measures are effective in improving local perceptions. Maritime museums and public access show a positive association with increasing local awareness of the benefits a port provides, despite their lower levels of adoption (45%). Port centres are the least adopted option at present (29%) and can be expected to increase significantly, with a 43% increase anticipated between numbers of current and expected future centres. Education (14%), public access (13%) and maritime museums (4.5%) also show increases in levels of interest. Maritime museums and public access should be pursued as proven, effective options for improving local perceptions of ports, whilst port centres may provide a new focal point for port-related social and cultural activities.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the greatest development and promise in the present technology world, as it promises big contribution, massive changes, modernization, and coordination with and within people’s progressing life. This paper aims to provide an analysis of Jordan health care that are co-connected and interconnected with the consequences formed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of adopting AI in health sector. It also discusses the local awareness and familiarization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Jordan healthcare providers and gives a consistent assessment of current and future best practices. Data was gathered by using interviews from Jordan IT and health care providers. The investigation found that AI is consistently changing the way healthcare is to be directed in Jordan. AI can provide solid healthcare services to the stakeholders. As a developing country, Jordan has not fully adopted Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its healthbsector.   Keywords: Artificial Intelligence (AI); Challenges; Health care System; Jordan; Opportunities

Incorporating local perspectives is fundamental to evidence-based conservation, for both understanding complex socio-ecological systems and implementing appropriate management interventions. How local communities understand extinction, and whether these views affect perceptions of biodiversity loss and the effect of anthropogenic activities, has rarely been evaluated explicitly in conservation projects. To target this data gap, we conducted 185 interviews to assess levels and patterns of understanding about wildlife decline and extinction in rural communities around Bawangling National Nature Reserve, Hainan, China, a priority conservation site that has experienced recent species losses. Interviewees showed varying awareness of declines and extirpation of local wildlife species. Two-thirds did not consider the permanent disappearance of wildlife to be possible; among those who did, only one-third could comprehend the scientific term “extinction.” Thinking extinction is possible was associated with identifying declined and extirpated species, but not with perceiving locally-driven human activities, such as hunting, as the reason for wildlife loss. The government was seen as the entity most responsible for conservation. Variation found around local perceptions of extinction, its drivers, and conservation responsibility demonstrates that comprehension of key conservation concepts should not be assumed to be homogenous, highlighting the challenge of transposing scientific concepts between different social and cultural settings. Proactively incorporating local perspectives and worldviews, especially by obtaining context-specific baseline understandings, has major implications for other contexts worldwide and should inform conservation planning and management.

Osteological studies can have implications that allow direct biological inferences to be made, such as locomotion, as well as indirect ones, such as species distribution, evolution and ecology. This study was aimed at describing some osteological traits of Inia geoffrensis (Blainvillei, 1817), Macapá/AP. A nearly complete carcass was found in a local forest. Information about the killing was collected through community reports. After collecting bones and information, the carcass was taken to the Laboratory of Zoology at the Federal University of Amapá for cleaning and examination. The cleaning process was carried out following the step-by-step maceration protocol and measurements of bones were taken with a measuring tape (2 m) and ruler (50 cm), except for cervical vertebrae, which were measured with a caliper (15 cm). To find the limbs in the carcass, an identification guide and a bone chart of aquatic mammals were used. Based on the observed data, the animal was a female, determined by the genital cleft. Examination of the occipital bone revealed an adult with complete bone fusion, obliterated sutures on the external surface of the skull. The carcass was nearly complete, with the entire face measuring 55 cm. Further studies are needed on environmental education about cetaceans, local awareness with the assistance of inspectors and competent authorities for the conservation of freshwater dolphins in the region and studies on carcasses for the maintenance of the species.

The development of technology and knowledge possessed by humans so that midwifery care and birth care for a woman has also experienced a shift, in which medical midwives have replaced village midwives. This research is a theoretical study by taking several studies on midwifery care and local wisdom and analyzing the theory related to the facts in the field and the author's experience. The results of the studies that have been carried out there are several findings study, including; First, midwifery care that has forgotten the local wisdom of elders, proverbs, pamali and abstinence from traditional healers, smart people, and village midwives so that when a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth, it results in a cesarean section than average. Second, for a woman who has given birth and left local wisdom to inform the irrational world, the baby often cries when it is midnight.

Workplace sexual harassment (WSH) has been recognized in the literature as a serious problem for the past 40 years. Since 2017, the global #MeToo movement has fostered local awareness of WSH and inspired researchers in China to pay increasing attention. Guided by the gender empowerment theory, this study investigated the relationships between women’s responses as targets of WSH (e.g., choosing avoidance or confrontation) and both their perceptions of gender equality and their knowledge of the relevant national laws. We used data from a recent large-scale online survey conducted on the topic of sexual harassment among Chinese women in four metropolitan cities in 2018 and selected 862 women who had experienced WSH during the previous 12 months as the study sample. The results revealed that 545 of the respondents chose to show resistance when faced with WSH, while 287 identified their boss as their harasser. In addition, respondents’ perceptions of gender equality and their knowledge of national laws on anti-domestic violence were shown to have positive effects on their responses as targets of WSH. Moreover, monthly income, household registration, and type of WSH were found to be associated with targets’ responses in a statistically significant way, whereas their marital status, educational background, and age were not. Furthermore, the study found that the boss as harasser weakened the relationship between women’s perception of gender equality and their active response to WSH incidents. With this study, we advance our understanding of the important role that perceptions of gender equality play in women’s responses as targets of WSH, and we discuss implications for prevention and intervention efforts that encourage targets to actively respond. We advocate promoting education on gender equality, fostering awareness of the laws and regulations relevant to WSH, and cultivating an organizational culture and environment that is hostile toward WSH.
