Transport is integral to every city, having a crucial impact on its functioning and development. As road infrastructure does not keep up to speed with the constantly growing numbers of vehicles on roads, new solutions are required. Fast urban railway systems are a solution that can reduce transport congestion, with environmental protection issues also taken into account. Contemporary public transport cannot function without modern communication and information technologies. The use of telematics in public transport allows passenger mobility to be sustainable and efficient. Therefore, it seems justified to conduct research on this issue. The aim of the study is to analyze the perception of the use of telematics solutions to service SKM in Szczecin (Poland) with the use of multivariate correspondence analysis. Results of the research indicate that people living in the area of gravity of the SKM have a positive opinion on the application of telematics solutions in the activities of the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway. The results obtained are local in nature, but show the direction that researchers can take in analyzing public transport in other agglomerations. In addition, the article presents a tool that greatly facilitates the analysis of survey data, even with a large number of results.

This article examines the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching Science as well as the organisation and realisation of online classes during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In respect to this, the research results are used to gather teachers' viewpoints and opinions regarding the application of ICT in Science classes, as well as to determine the best method of application of the aforementioned technologies and the form of ICT most often used in Science classes. The results are also used to gather teachers' opinions about online classes, and to examine the problems and disadvantages the teachers encountered when organising and holding online Science classes for the lower grades of elementary schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the research also illustrate that teachers have a positive opinion in regards to the use of ICT in Science classes as well as the frequent (albeit not constant) use of it. The teachers not only consider themselves competent enough to apply all forms of new technologies in their classes, but express the will and motivation for further education related to ICT application as well. On the other hand, teachers do not have a positive opinion about online classes due to the many difficulties they encounter, such as technical issues, inteference by parents, lack of direct contact with students, the inability to monitor their progress and the general deficiency of equipment needed to incorporate ICT into regular classes, as well as other difficulties of a similar nature. However, the research results also show that teachers believe new technologies are connected to the development of new skills and the improvement of students' existing skills.

Background The success of a government’s COVID-19 control strategy relies on public trust and broad acceptance of response measures. We investigated public perceptions of the UK government’s COVID-19 response, focusing on the relationship between trust and perceived transparency, during the first wave (April 2020) of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. Methods Anonymous survey data were collected (2020-04-06 to 2020-04-22) from 9,322 respondents, aged 20+ using an online questionnaire shared primarily through Facebook. We took an embedded-mixed-methods approach to data analysis. Missing data were imputed via multiple imputation. Binomial & multinomial logistic regression were used to detect associations between demographic characteristics and perceptions or opinions of the UK government’s response to COVID-19. Structural topic modelling (STM), qualitative thematic coding of sub-sets of responses were then used to perform a thematic analysis of topics that were of interest to key demographic groups. Results Most respondents (95.1%) supported government enforcement of behaviour change. While 52.1% of respondents thought the government was making good decisions, differences were apparent across demographic groups, for example respondents from Scotland had lower odds of responding positively than respondents in London. Higher educational levels saw decreasing odds of having a positive opinion of the government response and decreasing household income associated with decreasing positive opinion. Of respondents who thought the government was not making good decisions 60% believed the economy was being prioritised over people and their health. Positive views on government decision-making were associated with positive views on government transparency about the COVID-19 response. Qualitative analysis about perceptions of government transparency highlighted five key themes: (1) the justification of opacity due to the condition of crisis, (2) generalised mistrust of politics, (3) concerns about the role of scientific evidence, (4) quality of government communication and (5) questions about political decision-making processes. Conclusion Our study suggests that trust is not homogenous across communities, and that generalised mistrust, concerns about the transparent use and communication of evidence and insights into decision-making processes can affect perceptions of the government’s pandemic response. We recommend targeted community engagement, tailored to the experiences of different groups and a new focus on accountability and openness around how decisions are made in the response to the UK COVID-19 pandemic.

In the third volume of the botanical thesis, which was first published in 1779, priest Krzysztof Kluk expressed a positive opinion about czech hops. Because priest Kluk’s work became one of the basic sources of knowledge of agriculture among the wealthy gentry, opinions expressed by him formed views about botanical advantages and the economical usefullness of czech hog. The role of priest Kluk’s studies in Lithuania was so great, that a proverb came there into being „that one can’t be a good host, who doesn’t have Kluk’s work”. According to its message, the possesion of books of a specific author was an essential condition to success in agricultural activity.

In a social network, a user is greatly influenced by their neighbors’ opinions, and the user’s opinion updating can be regarded as the prisoner’s dilemma game. In view of such considerations, this paper proposes an opinion evolution and control model based on the prisoner’s dilemma game and gives the corresponding opinion evolution and control algorithm. Under different initial positive opinion proportions, different opinion control levels, and the same control threshold value and under different initial positive opinion proportions, different opinion control levels, and different opinion control threshold values in a scale-free network, the experiments illustrate the opinion evolution trends and control strategies according to the measures of changing the opinion control levels and opinion control threshold values for network regulators. The experiments show that the lower the initial positive opinion proportion is and the smaller (resp., larger) the control opinion threshold value chosen by the network regulators is, the lower (resp., higher) the opinion control level is; the larger the initial positive opinion proportion is and the larger the control opinion threshold value chosen by the network regulators is, the lower the opinion control level is.

Fantasy Sports Collection, Inc. (FSC) is a fantasy sport organization offering fantasy play since 2005. Having plateaued in consumer growth, FSC is faced with difficult financial decisions. In a brainstorming session regarding new initiatives, Molly Brinkmeyer suggested an idea to purposefully market to and recruit more women to preestablished offerings. Molly’s reasons driving this idea were the fact that only 14% of their consumers were women and, after an evaluation of FSC’s marketing campaigns, employees of FSC quickly saw that advertisements were overtly produced for men. FSC’s management team felt that this was an idea worth pursuing. They charged Molly with acquiring information about women’s fantasy sport participation and gave her a 3-week window to learn more and report back. She found that women’s top perceptions of the activity were that: (a) the activity was time consuming; (b) the activity required research, surveillance, and information; (c) they had no interest or understanding of it; (d) they felt the activity was too competitive; (e) they thought it wasn’t real; and (f) they still had a positive opinion of fantasy sport. With this new information, marketing decisions could now be made to address existing concerns by women regarding fantasy sport participation.

Background/Purpose: In soccer players, non-contact injuries are most common, especially hamstring muscle injuries, which can be prevented by the Nordic hamstring exercise (NHE). This study assessed the professional and semi-professional soccer players and coaches’ awareness, implementation, and opinion of the NHE efficacy in reducing hamstring injuries. Methods: A questionnaire regarding the awareness, implementation, and opinions of the NHE’s efficacy in reducing hamstring muscle injuries was distributed. Results: The survey was completed by 812 (88.3% male and 11.7% female) players and coaches. Of these, 395 (48.6%) were aware of the NHE, and 355 (43.7%) implemented it in their current practice. Those implementing NHE had a positive opinion about its efficacy in reducing hamstring injuries. Conclusion: Further efforts and research are warranted to increase the international awareness and implementation of the NHE and educate soccer players and coaches about the importance of its implementation and effectiveness in preventing hamstring injury.
