Infeksi HIV menjadi faktor resiko terjadinya penularan KA.

Genital warts are caused by several strains of Human Papilloma Viruses (HPVs). Although asymptomatic in most cases, they can be psychologically and physically distressing for patients. Recently, Intralesional immunotherapy by different antigens like Bacille Calmette–Guerin vaccine, candida antigen, and measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine has shown promising efficacy in the treatment of warts. Here we report two cases in Omani males who presented to the dermatology clinic at Barka Poly clinic with recalcitrant genital warts that resolved completely with intralesional injection of MMR vaccine. Lignans are widely produced by various plant species; they are a class of natural products that share structural similarity. They usually contain a core scaffold that is formed by two or more phenylpropanoid units. Lignans possess diverse pharmacological properties, including their antiviral activities that have been reported in recent years. This review discusses the distribution of lignans in nature according to their structural classification, and it provides a comprehensive summary of their antiviral activities. Among them, two types of antiviral lignans—podophyllotoxin and bicyclol, which are used to treat venereal warts and chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in clinical, serve as examples of using lignans for antivirals—are discussed in some detail. Prospects of lignans in antiviral drug discovery are also discussed.

Aim. To estimate the prevalence and trends of the long-term dynamics of morbidity and mortality associated with various manifestations of HPV infection in Russia in recent years. Materials and methods. We analyzed retrospective data with diagnostic codes related to cervical cancer, penile cancer, anal canal cancer, head and neck cancer (including the oral cavity, oropharynx, larynx and larynx), anogenital (venereal) warts from the official statistic of cancer register and STIs using incidence and mortality rates in Russia between January 2007 and December 2016 and retrospective data with diagnostic codes related to cancer of the vulva and cancer of the vagina between January 2011 and December 2016. Based on the available data on the involvement of HPV in the occurrence of pathological changes, the annual generalized indices for HPV-associated neoplasms were calculated. Results. The estimated number of HPV-associated lesions in the Russian Federation for 2007-2016 amounted to 5 761 170 cases, of which 224 630 - among men and 5 536 540 - among women. The estimated number of deaths from HPV-associated cancers was 109 510 cases, of which 32 080 - among men and 77 430 - among women. The estimated incidence of HPV-associated cancers neoplasms during this period increased by 10% among the male population and by 22% among the female population, reaching 8.0 cases per 100 000 male population in 2016 and 25.2 cases per 100 thousand female population. The death rate from HPV-associated cancers did not change significantly, and in 2016 it was 4.9 cases per 100 thousand male population and 10.2 cases per 100 thousand female population. Conclusion. There is an increase in morbidity and stabilization of mortality rates from HPV-associated cancers for both female and male populations, and a decrease in the incidence of anogenital (venereal) warts.

Objective: to evaluate the incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), in patients of State Research Center of dermatology and cosmetology Russian Ministry of Health in comparison with indicators of morbidity in the Russian Federation. Material and methods. A retrospective analysis of the structure appeals to the department of infectious urogenital diseases of Russian Ministry of Health for the period from 2011 to 2015. Results. The result of the department of sexually transmitted infections of State Scientific Center for Dermatovenereology and Cosmetologymost frequently recorded patients with anogenital (venereal) warts, syphilis and chlamydial infection. Moreover, the majority of women (52%) identified inflammatory diseases of the vagina, vulva, cervix and changes cervical mucosa. It was found that in Moscow and among patients of State Scientific Center for Dermatovenereology and Cosmetology regardless of sex the most common diseases are anogenital (venereal) warts, while in Russia and Central Federal District -urogenitalny trichomoniasis. Significant prevalence of HPV infection, in view of oncological vigilance and frequent combination with inflammatory diseases of the genital organs, demonstrates the need for prevention of infection among the active population and the fast development of effective methods of early diagnosis and therapy.

ABSTRACT The incidence of anogenital warts, commonly caused by human papillomavirus (HPV-6 and HPV-11), is increasing worldwide. These infections are frequently associated with relapse, possibly due to weak host immunity. However, the role of cell-mediated immune players in combating infection is not clearly understood till date. Here, we attempted to understand the immune profile among patients with anogenital warts. In this study, we compared the T-helper cell (Th1 and Th2) response in patients with venereal warts due to HPV-6 and HPV-11 infection relative to healthy controls (HCs) in vitro. In the in vitro model, the peripheral blood mononuclear cells were stimulated with HPV peptide 6 or 11, stained for T-cell surface marker and intracellular cytokines (interferon [IFN]-□ and interleukin [IL]-4), and were analyzed by flow cytometry. In the present study, significant decrease was observed in the frequency of IFN-□ T cells as compared with HCs. On the contrary, frequency of T cells expressing IL-4 was significantly increased in the patients. The observed functional skewing of HPV-specific T cells from Th1 to Th2 response in patients indicated suppressed immunity against the HPVs. Findings of our study have potential in the near future for strategizing adjunct immunomodulation approaches with the standard treatment for early remission and prevention of recurrence.
