The sediment sequence analysis of Mann-Kendall method based on major rivers of 10 hydrological station in the middle reaches of the Yellow River [1]. The results show that: The main rivers in the middle reaches of the Yellow River hydrologic station sediment overall showed a trend of decreased significantly. Sediment discharge of all stations except Gao Jiachuan station have reached the maximum in 1956-1969s [2-3]. Among various hydrologic station sediment discharge of inter-generational are generally shows the tendency of reducing year by year. Calculate the sediment transport of major river basin of Yellow River, which average is 0.63.

Seasonal Variation and Trend in Rainfall in the Municipality of Juazeiro-BA A B S T R A C TThe city of Juazeiro-BA stands out for being an important agricultural development hub on irrigated bases in the Northeast, in which the seasonal distribution of pluviometric precipitation has a decisive influence in the context of the health and sanitation relationship in urbanized areas, in family agriculture, in water supplying of isolated families and the economy of that region. Thus, this research aims to assess the distribution of rainfall in the municipality of Juazeiro-BA, analyzing a daily series of 32 years of rainfall data, calculating the annual and seasonal values of the Precipitation Concentration Index (PCI) and conducting a rainfall trend study, using the Mann-Kendall method. The results revealed that, in Juazeiro, the rainy period is well defined, with the highest levels of precipitation between the months of December and March. The annual PCI has a value of 28.48 %, indicating a high irregularity in the distribution of annual rainfall, enabling the occurrence of extreme events, both floods and water scarcity. The Mann-Kendall test, for the period under study, presented tendency decrease of the annual rainfall average by 7.51 mm, which may increase the water deficit in the region. Keywords: Rainfall; Climate Series; Rain Concentration; Mann-Kendall.

“Rail Baltica” project is priority project No 27 “Rail Baltica” axis Warsaw-Kaunas-Riga-Tallinn-Helsinki, approved by Decision No 884/2004/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 amending Decision No 1692/96/EC on Community guidelines for the development of the trans-European transport network (European Union, 2004). An article analyzes the changes in the main parameters of the 1435 mm gauge railway infrastructure during the whole period of the “Rail Baltica” project, determines their impact on the project implementation time-line, purposes and results, highlights basic parameters which need to be met during modernization. On this basis, the main criteria for the evaluation of Rail Baltica rail infrastructure were selected. An expert survey was conducted to evaluate the criteria. The Kendall method was used to calculate the criteria weights. The article ends with a scientific discussion.

This study primarily focused on the change in the trend of rainfall, temperature and rice yield of the Nashik region of Maharashtra state. The trend analysis of all three climatic parameters was carried out using the Mann - Kendall method. For this, daily rainfall, minimum, and maximum temperature and rice yield data of 30 years i.e. from 1984 to 2014 were processed to find out the overall trend of rainfall, temperature and rice yield. The Mann-Kendall method was applied for the determination of trends. The results obtained from the study show that there is an increase in the trend of rainfall for stations viz. Nashik, Trimbakeshwar, and Sinnar subsequently decreasing trend for Dindori, Igatpuri, Peint, and Niphad. Minimum and maximum temperature for all the stations present in the study area showing an upward trend. Crop yield of Nashik, Peint, and Sinner shows an upward trend and Trimbakeshwar, Dindori, Igatpuri, and Niphad show a downward trend. It has been found that the rainfall trend over the entire region is decreasing. Sixty percent of station data shows that there is a significant decrease in the trend of the rice yield due to a decrease in the rainfall and an increase in temperature trends.

The phenomenon of non-significant trends in ice-off date under a warming climate was quantitatively explained by three efforts:  exploring possible driving factors where possible and defining new factors to represent snow conditions, identifying the contributing factors through correlation and trend tests, and evaluating relative contributions through partial Mann-Kendall method. Why the ice-off became only slightly earlier over 62 years at Lake of Bays has been satisfactorily assessed: the increased winter temperature, increased total rain and decreased days of snow on ground acted as three promoting drivers to earlier ice-off date, but their promoting functions were effectively offset by adverse changes in four other factors (snowfall slope, precipitation slope, snowpack slope, and last day of snow). The ice-off date at Lake Nipissing did not have a significant trend over 58 years, although there were five factors  contributing to the ice-off decline without sufficient offsetting, suggesting that the ice-off of this lake may not be sensitive, or basically elastic, to the climatic variation stressor. Relative contributions of drivers as calculated helped explain how much they contributed to ice-off trends or how much they offset the influences.
