Abstract: A chain of blocks that contains information is the definition of Blockchain. The technique is intended to timestamp digital documents so that it is not possible to temper them. The purpose of blockchain is to solve the double records problem without the need of a central server. Blockchain provides a creative approach to storing information, executing transactions, conducting tasks and trust building. Blockchain is an emerging technology for the applications Smart Cities, Smart Grids, Healthcare, Education, Crypto-currency and Supply chain. The mobile devices are used to execute the teaching-learning-evaluation process in Mobile Learning (m-learning) methodology. M-learning is a trending field in educational organizations, companies, and for individual study. With the explosion of mobile device ownership among the users aged within 18–29 years who are also the attendees of the higher learning institution (HLI), gives us the opportunity to consider the use of m-learning methodology to be embedded in the HLI beside traditional methodologies. Exceptional circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic when traditional face-to-face methodology suddenly changed to online paradigm, is also forcing us to strongly consider the m-learning approach. However, HLI may not have a general policy to implement m-learning into the traditional learning environment. A proper educational outcome needs to be configured to implement a new process into the traditional process. Therefore, a model integrating the m-learning aspects and the education supply chain management factors obtained from this study may benefit the stakeholders of HLI, especially educators and students.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to analyse whether there is an adjustment between the Portuguese higher education supply and the needs of the labour market.Design/methodology/approachAn empirical study is performed, using a quantitative approach, relating the job offers for graduates registered at the employment centres and the number of graduates by higher education institutions (HEIs) in Portugal, at an aggregate level and NUT II regions, by areas of education and training, over the 2003–2018 period. To understand how job offers and graduates are correlated, bilateral Spearman's rank correlation coefficients were calculated.FindingsThe results show that, in large groups of educational areas, exists a match between the higher education supply and the labour market needs, with an emphasis on the fields of “social sciences, business and law”, “engineering, manufacturing and construction” and “health and welfare”. However, at a more disaggregated level, a mismatch in the sub-areas of “teacher training and education science” and “computing” was found since labour market needs are much greater than graduates by HEIs and the two variables are moving in opposite directions.Practical implicationsThe study has revealed important aspects that the educational policy should take into account in order to create the conditions for a gradual adjustment to the labour market needs. Also, the results demonstrate that some measures should be taken in short/medium term to avoid problems in the medium/long term.Originality/valueOne implication of this empirical study was the elaboration of a correspondence table to standardise the data analysis units from two different sources. As this correspondence did not exist prior to this study, this output is a relevant contribution to the research field. Another important contribution is the demonstration of a mismatch in some educational sub-areas that deserves special attention from educational policymakers.

With the sustainable development of economy and society and the acceleration of the popularization of higher education, Henan Province, as a big province of education, has developed rapidly, but it also has some drawbacks. As an important mission of higher education, the supply of higher education is a systematic problem with regularity, which is closely related to the regional social and economic development. The problems of higher education supply seriously affect the energy of higher education. Based on this, this paper takes the supply of higher education as the starting point. On the basis of sorting out the current situation and problems of the supply evolution of undergraduate colleges in Henan Province, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions to improve the effective supply of higher education in Henan Province. This has a certain theoretical and practical significance to promote the effective supply of higher education in Henan Province and improve the supply quality of higher education in Henan Province.

At present, “enhancing the sense of acquisition of Ideological and political theory course for postgraduates” has become an inevitable requirement to realize the development of Ideological and political discipline, improve the quality of education and teaching, and implement the mission of moral education. The graduate students’ sense of acquisition of Ideological and political courses is the result of a variety of factors, such as student demand, education supply and external environment. Therefore, by improving the satisfaction of postgraduates to the ideological and political course, enhancing the input of teaching elements and creating the external environment of Ideological and political course teaching, we can strengthen the theoretical and practical significance of education, guide students to adhere to the correct value orientation, and enhance the postgraduates’ sense of acquisition of ideological and political course.

The effective supply of higher education is important to cultivate innovative talents and improve the quality of higher education. In the new era, China’s colleges and universities put forward to improve the quality of higher education as the goal, reasonable allocation of higher education supply resources and effectively promote the healthy development of higher education. Based on this, this paper takes the supply of higher education as the starting point, and constructs the evaluation index system of higher education supply based on the government, society and universities. It also improved the evaluation criteria for the school running standards, teaching quality, teaching staff and teaching achievements of higher education. So this paper has certain theoretical and practical significance to promote the effective supply of higher education and improve the quality of higher education supply.
