To date, the general development of the historiography describing the development of martial arts domestic system is determined by the presence of disputes among specialists about the content of the main stages in this process. The least developed in the scientific aspect is the analysis of the documentary funds of central and regional authorities in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as public associations and associations of martial arts, which would make it possible to determine the features of evolvement, as well as the prospects for the development of specific schools and federations in various regions of our country. The article considers the features of the content of the documentary funds of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Chuvash Republic and the Chuvash Republican Association of Martial Arts, stored in the funds of the Budgetary Institution “State Archive of Modern History” of the Chuvash Republic for the period from 1990 to 2000. The information potential of these funds is analyzed when covering the process of formation and development of the martial arts system in Chuvashia from 1990 to 2000. The specifics of the documents’ content of the regional profile ministry and the public organization, whose activities during the period under review were associated with the development of types of martial arts, were determined. Historical information about the development of martial arts in Chuvashia in the 1990s in archival sources is very diverse and has a different level of informative value. Presentation of both official documents and internal documentation of individual public organizations and associations in the field of martial arts development in the republic currently requires systematization and analysis of statistical material on the number and quality of sports sections and associations that engaged in martial arts in the 1990s, their personal composition, participants, some of whom became champions of Russia, Europe and the world.

Existing research extension has yielded varying results about whether the public’s attitudes towards life extension are positive or negative. Such differences could be accounted for by factors such as general attitudes towards developments in science and technology and exposure to fiction (such as books or movies) which generally portray life extension in an unfavorable light. This study revealed that, at least among 16 to 17 year-old High School Juniors, there was a correlation between a favorable orientation towards scientific and technological developments and positive attitudes towards life extension. Additionally, participants who had witnessed representation of life extension in fiction were less likely to hold positive attitudes towards it. The specification of the physical state in which people would live an extended lifespan in was also found to be significant in forming attitudes towards life extension. The main positive arguments about life extension were cited to be having more time, being able to be with loved ones longer, and it being beneficial towards society and humanity. However, the most significant negative arguments were that overpopulation would become a severe issue, outliving loved ones would be distressing, and abuse of power. In an attempt to change attitudes towards life extension from negative to positive, a 15-minute presentation about either the social and personal, ethical, or scientific aspect was generally ineffective in doing so. However, out of the favorable change that did occur, the presentation on the scientific feasibility of life extension was found to be the most effective.

Abstract On 15 July 1908 The Times advertised a talk on ‘personal experiences in spirit-photography and the scientific aspect of spiritualism’, due to take place that night at the Eustace Miles Restaurant. Attendees could look forward to not only ‘exhibitions of spirit writing’, but also to enjoying a ‘flesh-free’ meal afterwards. This entertainment speaks to confluence of spiritualist belief and vegetarian ideals that was played out elsewhere in societies, private seances and public demonstrations. Beyond a shared commitment to progressive causes, they held in common a belief in the purity of vegetable foods and the corrupting nature of flesh. Mediums were encouraged to avoid meat and disputes over the proper diet for believers raged through the movement’s periodicals. This article examines how the language of dietetics and the science of nutrition functioned in the séance, and what this reveals of the tricky negotiation of immateriality and corporality in spiritualist discourse.

Historically, any endeavors, involving the term ‘space’, were perceived as operations undertaken by large government organizations with an emphasis on the scientific aspect, rather than a business one. However, over the last two decades, the structure of the space industry is rapidly being transformed and privatized due to the growth in commercial applications and the catalyzing entry of billionaires such as Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. This paper offers a case study analysis of the private sector’s growing influence in the space industry through a combination of a quantitative analysis and an in-depth review of the surrounding literature. The results show that the commercial economy now accounts for almost 80% of the monetary size of the space industry and is expected to drive most of the growth in future. Further, a forecast of the future size of the space economy suggests it could touch almost US$1.5 trillion by 2040, dominated by the private sector. A regression analysis conducted to assess the quantum of private sector investment that will be required if the industry is to achieve its forecasted potential in the upcoming decades revealed that private investments must go up to US$48billion by 2025.

In this article, folklore studies by Esmagambet Ismailov will be explored from a new scientific aspect. An article by a researcher titled “The Tradition and Tradition of Patriotic Poetry” shows that the phenomenon of the “holistic” phenomenon is well known in folklore. When scientist Nurpeis Bayganin analyzed literary criticism, Kairat Nurym, Dogan Nurpeisov, Aisha, Murun, Nurpeis and Kairat, who constantly revitalized and enriched the heroes of Kazakhstan in the Arctic, Caspian Sea and Aktobe, the development of such poverty in a certain territorial integrity was observed in the Russian people .

The history of cerebral palsy litigation at Court leaves much to be desired for many reasons including the scientific aspect particularly in reference to the causation of cerebral palsy. One cannot ignore the 1960s when science held that the preponderance of cerebral palsy is the result of oxygen deficiency in labour. The wrong teaching soon left the science classroom and pervaded the Courts where quick- thinking lawyers extrapolated the teaching to wrongly benefit their clients’ cases with great alacrity. These cases often were and are studies in human suffering and misery. However, truth must out and justice be served irrespective of all factors. One cannot assuage suffering by perverting the course of justice such that someone alleviates a wretched existence by being made a scapegoat and paying for it.

The Vanadis expedition was a Swedish–Norwegian scientific and trade mission that circumnavigated the globe between 1883 and 1885. The scientific aspect of the expedition focused on the collection of objects, archaeological excavations and the documentation of the peoples, places and material culture encountered on the voyage. Responsible for much of this collecting and documentation was ethnographer Hjalmar Stolpe, as well as photographer Oscar Birger Ekholm. An estimated 7500 objects from the Vanadis expedition today form part of Etnografiska museet (The Museum of Ethnography) collections in Stockholm, over 900 of which came from the Pacific. These were acquired/purchased from Indigenous and western residents in all places the ship stopped including the Society Islands, Marquesas Islands, the Tuamotu Archipelago, Hawaiian Islands and Marshall Islands. Of the roughly 700 photographs taken during the voyage, just over 200 were taken in the Pacific. Ekholm’s photographic record from the Pacific includes studies of people and portraits, land and seascapes, archaeological sites, dwellings and marine transportation. Providing an overview of Ekholm’s photographs from the Vanadis expedition, this article seeks to contextualize his photography, situating it within the wider context of collecting with which he and Stolpe were concerned. It will further consider the racial stereotypes, interest in practices such as tattooing and overall aims of the expedition that prompted this photographic documentation.
