Laguerre polynomials Ln α (x) are shown to be the transforms of monomials by the special operators (1-Dx )n+α . From this their current properties such as Rodrigues formula, Lucas symbolic formula, orthogonality, generating functions, etc… are systematically obtained. This success opens the way for the study of special functions from special operators by the powerful operator calculus.

In 2011, leading comedy scholars singled-out two shortcomings in stand-up comedy research. The first shortcoming suggests a theoretical void: that although “a number of different disciplines take comedy as their subject matter, the opportunities afforded to the inter-disciplinary study of comedy are rarely, if ever, capitalized on.”¹ The second indicates a methodological void: there is a “lack of literature on ‘how’ to analyse stand-up comedy.”² This research project examines the relationship between political consciousness and satirical humour in stand-up comedy and attempts to redress these two shortcomings. It offers a new theoretical model and a new set of longitudinal data: the political content of American stand-up comedy over the course of the decade from 1990-1999. It capitalizes on the interdisciplinary study of comedy, which scholars describe as a “huge cultural phenomenon,”3 by offering a plausible context for the manifestation of satirical stand-up comedy content. The development of the context proceeds in logical steps integrating insights from five realms of inquiry – language science, political economy, propaganda studies, mass media effects and humour theory – into a consistent theoretical framework. The interdisciplinary effort offers a new method to analyse stand-up comedy, captured by the symbolic formula SC2={OGB,CERP}, whereby the satirical content of stand-up comedy (SC2) manifests itself in the association of two sets of statements: operative group beliefs (OGBs) and contrary empirical rational propositions (CERPs). As a whole, this research project falls within the conflict theory tradition of sociological research.¹ It argues that structurally, the aggregate demand for stand-up satire is stimulated by the dominion exerted by mass media over mass opinions. Given that elite “control of society, while certainly manifest in material modes of production, is culturally embedded and naturalized in the minds of the people via its hegemony over discourse,”² the content of stand-up satire cannot be properly examined unless the political economic repercussions of mass communication are taken into account. Mass propaganda and satire are inextricably entwined. This dissertation hypothesizes that the former fuels the general uncritical consensus while the latter acts as the artillery of critique. 1 Lockyer et al., 2011:99. 2 1 Klaehn et al., 2010:10. 2 Theobald, 2006:26. iv

The background of the article is connected with the correlation of the image-concept of Sophia as a symbol of the unity of the world in culture with the idea of Eurasianism as collegiality in Russian religious philosophy of the 19th-20th centuries. The purpose of the study is a comparative analysis of the signature formula «Sophia» in the author's receptions of collegiality in Russian religious and philosophical thought through the prism of the idea of Eurasianism as the archetype of the East Slavic Logos. The archetype of Eurasian collegiality as a structural element of world unity is traced from implicit historical origins in the Old Russian Middle Ages to the explication of this concept in the New Time. Research hypothesis - substantiation of the assumption that the Eurasian idea of collegiality as an idea of synthesis of the West and the East goes back in its cultural and historical roots to the archetype of Sophia and undergoes certain transformations from premodern through modern and postmodern to neo-modern, without losing its theoretical relevance and applied significance as a mechanism for integrating traditionalism, universalism and personalism. Research methods: dialectic method, structural and functional analysis, phenomenological description, hermeneutic interpretation, philosophical comparative studies, universal ethics of dialogue and semiotics of culture. The result of the research is a historical tracing of the evolution of sophiology from the times of Ancient Rus through the Age of Enlightenment to late modernity in the context of collegiality of Eurasianism, symbolically embodied in the image-concept of Sophia in Russian religious philosophy with the typology of its main features (messianism, providentialism, mystery, Westernism vs Slavophilism as a dialectical unity). Conclusions: interpretation of the concept of Eurasianism as a manifestation of the Russian religious and philosophical idea of collegiality, and the interpretation of idea of collegiality as a manifestation of the symbolic phenomenon of Sophia, which removes the contradictions of illusory dichotomies (universalism - particularism, modernism - traditionalism, theism - atheism, etc.) in favor of harmonious unity of the world of the West and the East on the civilizational, social, cultural and mental levels.

Internet of Things (IoT) symbolic formula is given. The analysis of management technologies both in the network structures of infocommunications, based on the NSMP, and on local networks of the Io T. Two approaches for implementing the management process in infocommunication networks are shown: one is based on creating special software tools, the second is based on the working with data describing the network device. The basic operations of SNMP are given. Four levels of IoT in local network structure are described: smart sensors, network vehicles, services, and applications. Structure of local network of IoT which includes smart sensors, transport environment, services and applications information representation in network use semantic web are considered. The structure of multi-agent system (MAS) of milk farms analyzing in Leban (MASMFA) for monitoring of production quality. MASMFA structure has many agents such as quality milk sensors, agents of communications, data base, analysis of the information received from sensor agents, decision-making. This system implements the functions to ensure the required class of milk quality and based on IoT local network construction. The information algorithm processing in such IoT is proposed. Milk sensor shell be periodically queried, their values will be recorded in the server database. The decisionmaking subsystem will issue data on milk quality to the farm administrator on a mobile device. The server structure will be implemented using a cloud service. Implementation this Internet of things network is being developed using LTE technology.

In his monograph Z teorii dyrektyw i norm [From the Theory of Directives and Norms] (1974) Kazimierz Opałek, apart from other issues, analyzes directives, optatives and evaluative statements as utterances belonging to the directive discourse and deals with a question of the logical-semantic status of the utterances. Opałek’s main critique concerns the logical-semantic status of the topic – the concept introduced by Alf Ross. Opałek demonstrates that directives cannot be represented by Ross’s formula: ‘d(T)’ (where d stands for the directive operator and T represents the neutral phrase, called ‘topic’). Polish legal theorist claims that the correct symbolic formula for directive structure is: ‘D(ut p)’. Such a formula for directive contains, besides the directive operator D, a sentence in a subjunctive mood, introduced by the ut- or utinam- connective clause.

The present situation of the concept of neopatristic synthesis by Fr. Georges Florovsky is discussed and prospects for its further development are estimated. Principal stages of the reception of this concept are reconstructed, starting from its creation in the 30s of the last century. The main attention is paid to the last stages, on which the sharp criticism of the concept takes place. Critical arguments against the concept are systematically considered, and the following three of them are singled out as the most important: the unjustified absolutization of the Greek component of the Orthodox Tradition in the principle of «Christian Hellenism» by Florovsky; excessive and unjustified criticism of Russian religious philosophy of Silver Age; mistaken conservative position, which is oriented to the past, prevents any creation and innovation in theology and diverts theology away from topical problems of modern reality. Our analysis shows that the first argument must be accepted, but the second rejected. The third one is essentially invalid, but its study discovers that the concept needs to be made more precise and complemented. The «turn to the Fathers» must be conceived as the turn to the quintessential experience of the union with Christ, which is preserved in the Orthodox Tradition as the union of patristics and ascetics. As a result we conclude that the concept is not obsolete basically, but it must take a new form, which has two important distinctions: one must removefrom it the principle of Christian Hellenism, and include in it hesychast experience as the ascetic component of the Tradition. This experience, which is living and kept identically till nowadays, and has, moreover, rigorous organization, represents sui generis ‘genetic code’ of the Tradition. Provided with this code, the Tradition is literally the ‘Living Tradition’, by the ancient symbolic formula.

The networking dataplane is going through a paradigm shift as softwarization of switches sees an increased pull from the market. Yet, software tooling to support development with these new technologies is still in its infancy. In this work, we introduce a framework for verifying performance requirement conformance of data plane protocols defined in the P4 language . We present a framework that transforms a P4 program in a versatile symbolic formula which can be utilized to answer various performance queries. We represented the system using denotational semantics and it can be easily extended with low-level target-dependent information. We demonstrate the operation of this system on a toy specification.

Ortho-planar spring is a compact spring that generates the motion based on the deformation of flexure elements, and it has wide applications in the compliant robotic designs. Previous studies only investigate the out-of-plane compliance of ortho-planar spring and fewer work pays attention to its angular compliance. To address this issue, this paper provides an analytical method to study both the linear and angular compliance characteristics of ortho-planar spring for the first time. In the frame work of screw theory, the symbolic formula of platform’s compliance matrix was obtained based on the hybrid integration of beam elements. Subsequently non-dimensional geometric parameters were introduced to compare the compliance characteristics of planar spring, which revealed the ortho-planar spring also demonstrates large bending compliance. Numerical studies of angular compliance of planar spring were provided, and they showed good agreements with the finite element simulations in a large working range. Based on the numerical study, a physical prototype of one continuum structure assembled with planar springs was provided and it demonstrated a large flexibility compared to other previous designs, which suggests the ortho-planar spring has potential value in developing continuum manipulators in related medical surgery and biorobotic research fields.

The wrench Jacobian matrix plays an important role in statics and singularity analysis of planar parallel manipulators (PPMs). It is easy to obtain this matrix based on plücker coordinate method. In this paper, a new approach is proposed to the analysis of the forward and inverse wrench Jacobian matrix used by Grassmann-Cayley algebra (GCA). A symbolic formula for the inverse statics and a coordinate free formula for the singularity analysis are obtained based on this Jacobian. As an example, this approach is implemented for the 3-RPR PPMs.
