This study aims to investigate the comparison of the deviations of the principle of politeness in Indian and French culture in a film called The Hundred-Foot Journey. Here the author uses Leech's theory of politeness principles which consists of maxims: (1) maxim of wisdom, (2) maxim of generosity, (3) maxim of praise, (4) maxim of humility, (5) maxim of compatibility, and (6) maxim of sympathy. Of these 2 cultures, only 3 maxims deviations were found consisting of: (1) deviations of wisdom maxims, (2) deviations of humility maxims, and (3) deviations of the maxims of agreement. The most common deviations in the principle of politeness in these two different cultures are maxim of agreement. The culture that often violates the maxim of agreement is Indian culture, which commits 16 violations, while France has 11 violations.

This research supports the structure of critical discourse when viewed from the perspective of Teun Van Dijk. The data source used was a video uploaded by the Indonesian representative entitled K-POP Non Korea EXP Edition. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the analysis show that non-Koreans can be part of K-pop. Various pros and cons experienced by this EXP EDITION boy band, did not ignite their enthusiasm for a career in South Korea. The phenomenon in this EXP EDITION. Positive and negative opinion. Most of the supporters of this boy band because they see their efforts are not instantaneous as previously reported. Some consider that they are giving up Korean culture or what is cooler is called cultural appropriation. Associated with the practice of power and discourse accents. The practice of power in this non-Korean K-pop phenomenon. Reporting from the Columbia University official website, Bora Kim formed the EXP EDITION group and mapped it out with the aim of "discussing what Kpop and Kpop fandom are".

It is motivated by a corona pandemic that makes students study at home and their low ability to listen to elementary students. This study attempts to describe the improvement of listening skills in identifying verbal stories through YouTube. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The study was conducted at Muhammadiyah Karangharjo Elementary School with a sample of grade III students totaling 27 students. The results of this study, an increase in students' listening skills using Youtube media.

In the Indonesian language curriculum that is used in the X MM Vocational School there is one of the basic competencies related to analyzing the structure and language of the exposition text. To understand the material to students, in the implementation of learning using a scientific-discovery learning approach. Based on the implementation of the scientific-discovery learning approach in learning the exposition text structure of class X MM1 students of SMKN 8 Surabaya, it can be concluded as follows. The application of the scientific approach to discovery learning model learning in exposition structure learning materials in class X MM1 students of SMKN 8 Surabaya shows the activities of students who are very good, very enthusiastic, and have the ability to think critically as expected in a constructivist learning paradigm. The level of mastery learning of students is 94.28% of students who achieve mastery individually.

Television advertising is not only the most reliable medium for selling products, but also in shaping an image. Such as advertisements for facial care products for men which often highlight masculine images, where masculine is a gender concept that is pinned to men by a culture. This study aims to explore the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth contained in the Garnier Men advertisement by Joe Taslim and Chico Jeriko. Using Roland Barthes's analysis related to signified, significant, denotative, connotative, and myth. The results showed a male masculine image, a combination of urban, metropolis, and metrosexual male images represented by denotations of races, martial arts and other urban metropolis men's activities. In connotation, showing a representation of the dominant male type in life. These signs point to the social relations of the community towards a man. This research is expected to be able to add and provide knowledge and be a reference for the public's perspective in interpreting television advertisements for men's facial cleansers.

The purposes of this article is to explain the process and the improvement ability to write a short story using guided exercises at IX A SMP IT Ar Rahmah Pacitan student. This type of research finished by using descriptive method trough four stages in each cycle ie planning, action, observation and reflection. The research data in the form of short stories written tests, interviews, observations and field notes sheet student. Based on the results of the study concluded that the precycle average is 46,11% of the students qualified nearly enough, in cycle 1 is sufficiently increased to 65,29% in cycle 2 and the average value of student learning to write short stories increased to 89,61% with exelent qualifications.

Containing the value of culture folklore, education and moral values are beneficial. The dyaks of folklore Kenyah Lebu’ Kulit is a form of long literary. This one comes with oral literary order of value and the contents of high quality and very useful to the development of regional literature. Folklore titled Busang Mayun the dyaks of Kenyah Lebu’ Kulit in the village long Lejuh need to be identified because the stories so there have not been many locations the community, plus the influence of the development of technology advancement which gradually and quickly so that forgotten folklore. Folklore rarely never even told that masyarakaat dyaks Kenyah Lebu’Kulit in the long Lejuh called Busang Mayun no longer know and have known story their area. In this research writer will use the qualitative study, researchers collected data as usually by means of direct face to face and interacting with people in the research. In this research as a source of primary data were informants. Important data or information collected and examined in this research in the form of qualitative. The data more of words. In this research data obtained through oral information of the next speakers transcription into the story in writing. Folklore called Busang Mayun of dyaks Kenyah Lebu’Kulit containing culture elements. Cultural values or customs show anciently the community in the long lejuh obstinate in holding fast custom and culture. The community customs cultures or the dyaks of kenyah that existed in the village long lejuh still exist until now, Be seen from the inheritance to future generations, as forms of household appliances, a boat, machete, chopsticks, a spear, a shield, and others. The equipment that meant until now is still used by a community the dyaks of Kenyah Lebu’Kulit in the village long lejuh as supports the needs of the lives of the community.
