Regional literature is a form of cultural product created by a group of people in an area to create a distinctive character. Regional literature plays a significant role in building student character, especially in today's digital era, because the rapid development of technology can affect culture and the existence of regional literature that has developed in previous societies. This research aims to know the role of regional literature in building character in students in the digital era. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. The analysis was obtained from a survey of several students from different regions and also using literature studies with sources from journals published in 2019–2021 related to this research. According to the results, the existence of regional literature in the current digital era is important in building the national character of a student because, if the existence of regional literature fades, the student's character as an Indonesian student will also disappear. The solution that can be offered is to preserve the learning of regional literature so that it can shape the mindsets of Indonesian students. This is because regional literature is a means of forming the quality of students with character in the era of digitalization. This research is limited to regional literary forms in general.

Sundanese people lost one of the main guardians of their culture, Ajip Rosidi (1938-2020). He is a writer who has a great contribution in the treasure of Indonesian and regional literature. One of his important contributions is preserving the legacy of the works of Haji Hasan Mustapa (1852-1930), the greatest Sundanese poet who lived during the colonial period. This study focuses on Ajip’s contribution to Hasan Mustapa’s works. The source is Ajip’s publications relating to Hasan Mustapa over a period of more than 50 years (1960-2017). Through a intertextual approach, this study shows that Ajip’s contribution to the disclosure of Hasan Mustapa’s identity and the legacy of his works from the 19th century can be seen from a number of efforts he did: trace and collect the legacy of Hasan Mustapa’s works; transcribe and translate, publish, and provides an overview of aspects of Sundanese literature. Ajip tries to strengthen Hasan Mustapa’s position in Sundanese literature, although finally both of them take on differently spirituality way. Hasan Mustapa takes on the way of philosophical mysticism, while Ajip chooses to practise his religion which influenced with modernist Islamic teaching.

Abstract. Abundant numbers of sites and studies exist that document the Last Interglacial (Eemian, Ipswichian, MIS 5e) coastal record for geographically and geomorphologically diverse NW Europe. This paper documents a database of 141 known Last Interglacial sea-level indicative data points from in and around the North Sea (35 entries in Netherlands, 10 Belgium, 16 in Germany, 17 in Denmark, 8 in Britain) and the English Channel (28 entries for British and 25 for the French side, 3 on the Channel Isles), believed to be a representative and fairly complete inventory and assessment coming from some 80 published sites. The good geographic distribution (some 1500 km SW-NE) across the near field of the Scandinavian and British Ice Sheets and the attention paid to absolute and relative age control are assets of the NW European database compilation. The research history of Last Interglacial coastal environments and sea-level position for this area is long, methodically diverse and spread over regional literature in several languages. Last Interglacial high-stand shorelines of Dutch and German Bight parts of the North Sea, were of lagoonal and estuarine type and have preserved subsurface (data entry included estimates of non-GIA vertical land motion). In contrast, Last Interglacial high-stand shorelines along the English Channel are encountered above modern sea-level (data entry includes datum definitions). Our review and database compilation effort drew from the original regional literature, and paid particular attention to distinguishing between sea-level index points (SLIPs) and marine and terrestrial limiting-points. This paper describes the dominant sea-level indicators produced from region to region, compliant to the database structure of the special issue (WALIS), referenced to original source data. The sea level proxies in majority are obtained from localities with well-developed lithostratigraphic, morpho-stratigraphic and biostratigraphical constraints. Amino-Acid Racemization information is also prominent, especially in Britain, albeit for many sites the older, lesser quality applications of that technique. The majority of European continental sites have chronostratigraphic age-control, notably through regional Pollen Association Zones of known durations. This greatly helps to separate transgression, highstand (‘stillstand’) and regression subsets from within the interglacial, useful when summarizing and/or querying the dataset. In all regions, many SLIPs and limiting points have further independent age-control from luminescence (IRSL, OSL, TL), U-series and ESR dating techniques. Main foreseen usage of this database for the near field region of the European ice sheets is in GIA modelling.

The region language and region literature in Indonesia is priceless and must be preserved. Each region has a variety of languages from different groups and become a cultural characteristic of certain region. However, the era of globalization and the development of information technology threatens the existence and preservation of regional languages which is prone to be replaced. The lowering number of speakers and the invasion of foreign languages are the main indicators of the deterioration of the existence of regional languages and literature. One of the efforts to restore the passion of regional language and regional literature is to develop a regional language keyboard that is easy to use by users of all age. The main purpose of the development of regional language keyboards is to introduce regional languages, especially to the younger generation who are beginning to be exposed to globalization so that they tend to forget the language and literature of the region. The keyboard is built with a natural language processing and smartphone-based approach. The Technology Preparedness Level (TKT) is at level 6, which means a demonstration of a model or prototype of a system or subsystem in a relevant environment.

We present the first standardized list of the vascular flora of the Cantabrian Mountains, a transitional zone between the Eurosiberian and Mediterranean biogeographic regions in northwestern Spain. The study area comprises 15000 km2 divided in UTM grid cells of 10 km x 10 km, for which we revised occurrence data reported in the Spanish Plant Information System (Anthos) and the online database of Iberian and Macaronesian Vegetation (SIVIM). We used a semi-automatic procedure to standardize taxonomic concepts into a single list of names, which was further updated by expert-based revision with the support of national and regional literature. In the current version, the checklist of the Cantabrian Mountains contains 2338 native species and subspecies, from which 56 are endemic to the study area. The nomenclature of the checklist follows Euro+Med in 97% of taxa, including annotations when other criteria has been used and for taxa with uncertain status. We also provide a list of 492 non-native taxa that were erroneously reported in the study area, a list of local apomictic taxa, a phylogenetic tree linked to The Plant List, a standardized calculation of Ellenberg Ecological Indicator Values for 80% of the flora, and information about life forms, IUCN threat categories and legal protection status. Our review demonstrates how the Cantabrian mountains represent a key floristic region in southern Europe and a relevant phytogeographical hub in south-western Europe. The checklist and all related information are freely accessible in a digital repository for further uses in basic and applied research

The paper explores the actual features of the historical and literary context of book culture in Finland in Russian. On the example of the publishing house "Biblion" (1919-1921) the information is provided that contributes to the study of the publishing activities of foreign organizations, subjects of Sweden and Finland, contributing to the appearance of books of fiction by many Russian authors, the most famous of which during this period were Leonid Andreev and Alexander Kuprin. For a more complete presentation of the issue of the development of Russian book publishing between 1919 and 1921, it is necessary to know not only about trends on a national scale, to see the features of the development of book publishing in the regions, but also to take into account the specifics of the work of publishing houses and publishing activities of Russian abroad. The relevance of the issue is confirmed by the lack of domestic studies on the topic of publishing Russian literature abroad. The results of the work can be used in teaching courses on literature and culture of the Russian abroad countries, the history of Russian literature of the 1/3 of the XX century, studies of regional literature, with the refinement and addition of biobibliographies, bibliographies, catalogs, encyclopedias, other publications of Russian literature abroad.

The article reviews contents, theoretical grounds, and significance for the contemporary philology of a large-scale work of Ural scholars – The History of Literature of the Ural Region (The 19th Century). In the 1920s, the idea of cultural nests – regional cultural centres, which have their own history and traditions, – was formulated in the works by N. K. Piksanov. The idea was followed and further developed by N. P. Antsiferov, who wrote about an attractive and magnetic power of locus, which organizes the cultural space around itself. That was the beginning of regional literature studies. V.N. Toporov and N. E. Mednis introduced the notions of the urban text, local text, and super-text of the Russian literature, which were accepted by the humanities geography (D.N. Zamyatin). Regional philological studies fitted into the frontier discourse smoothly: space and territory began to be perceived and considered as historical and socio-cultural factors. The reviewed book is the Ural text of the Russian literature incorporating literary and journalistic works about this poly-ethnic macro-region, written by authors biographically and territorially connected with the Large Ural Region; data on bibliography, book publishing and book trade, library management, the history of theatre, etc. The scale of research and the widest coverage of topics and data deserve the highest appraisal and make the work by the Ural colleagues exemplary.

The current pandemic situation has completely altered our lives. In this context, it is imperative to look back at the history of human civilization to see how the ancient faced such situations. Works dealing with the horrors of plague have been written in various regional literature across India, the famous being Rabindranath Tagore’s Puraton Bhritto, Ahmed Ali’s Twilight in Delhi and U.R Anandamoorthy’s Samskara. The article focuses on a Malayalam novel, Vasoori, written by Kakkanadan (1968) which revolves around the lives of common village folk caught in the jaws of smallpox. The novel focuses on the lived in experience of a community forced to face the disease almost every year. It is enlightening to go through the novel in the current Covid-19 pandemic as it concentrates on the first human reaction to pandemics – fear. By using the motif of smallpox, Vasoori pushes the reader to reflect on the ancestral fear of humans to infectious diseases and how it completely shatters the body’s internal perceptions. Thus reading Vasoori in the current pandemic situation is one way of understanding how the human race dealt with a disease for which there seemed no solution in sight.

The phenomenon of motherhood is a challenging focus for research in the feminist literary theory/critique. The motherhood continent as a controversial point of contention in the society has become (or remains) a polemicized field between the traditionalism, critical, essentialist feminism and epistemology. Advocating for the deconstruction of social postulates of patriarchy starts with a revision of the positive connotations of motherhood, demonization of abortion/birth control, and the right to birth self-determination. In the struggle for power and control at the waning of matriarchy, the androcentric order established the purpose, model and objectives of motherhood. The examination in this work destabilizes elements of motherhood in A Women's Book, The Mermaids, Matrimonium, and Nefertiti Was Here. The objective of this work is to deconstruct the concept of motherhood that is present in our paternal/patriarchal traditions by denouncing the harmful and deeply rooted stereotypes. Simultaneously the work exposes and highlights the need for affirmation of authentic feminine legacy, elucidates aspects of the mother daughter relationship, and promotes the accomplishments of regional literature. In this scientific approach to the phenomenon of motherhood, the work makes use of such theoretical concepts as: ideology of intensive motherhood, creation of body language and women's writing, motherly instinct, maternal ideology, matriarchy and mythology, the black continent, identification with the mother, as well as the mother-daughter relationship, the child's belonging, motherhood and non-motherhood and abortion-birth sterility. The inclusion of these themes in the narratives is an indicative question of the subjective affirmative experience of motherhood, where we find transcendental impulses for generating women's language and creation, which juxtapose ideological norms, intensity of motherhood and achieve autonomy in literary creation.
