This paper presents a method of automatic recognition of fingerprint diffraction images of motor vehicle users. The proposed method is based on the basic physical properties of the Fourier transform. It creates the possibility of reducing the problem of recognition to the Fourier transform of the image function, extraction of characteristic features vector and classification of input images.

The article presents a mathematical model assessing the reliability of rail traffic control systems with a mounted Peltier cell. The semiconductor element will be used for operating electronic components that are in the trackside equipment. In the prepared model, Markow processes were used to describe the states occurring between individual components of the RTC System. Simulation tests were mainly based on determining the average time of component failure. The presented results were carried out for 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 rail vehicle crossings over the railway tracks equipped with RTC Systems. At the very end of the article the conclusions resulting from computer simulations were presented.

The increasing complexity of modelled systems opens up questions of combining several modelling approaches in order to achieve higher efficiency and the required clarity of the simulations performed. For this reason, in addition to standard application-oriented modelling tools, we can see the growing popularity of the so-called hybrid or multimethod modelling approaches. A typical representative of such a modelling environment is the AnyLogic general-purpose modelling tool. This article describes the authors' experience with this tool in solving a selected problem in the field of modelling transport processes in urban areas. Using the example of the uncontrolled selected intersection, the procedure of creating a model with a more detailed analysis of its selected parts is discussed. The model based on real conditions is elaborated and compared with the model containing the fictitious traffic light control. Comparison is based on measuring the time that vehicles moving in the critical direction spend in the model. Both discussed models are stored in the cloud and may be run and study free.

The article presents an analytical approach to building a mathematical model of a quadrocopter. The main purpose of building the model was to design an appropriate facility control system and analyze its behavior in various situations. The assumption was made to build a model, control system and all accompanying algorithms in an open programming environment, which will allow their subsequent implementation in a real facility, without the need to use expensive software. The quadrocopter is controlled by the operator by means of hand movements that are read by the camera and properly interpreted using advanced image processing methods. The entire system is visualized and embedded in a three-dimensional simulation environment. The model study was conducted using a DC motor as an input data source. The operation of the model was checked with a controller when a disturbance was introduced into the model. The four-rotor model with a selected regulator was tested by analyzing the angular velocity and position of the object in a rectangular coordinate system. At the end of the article, the results of the simulations made are presented and the resulting conclusions are presented.

In the paper a mathematical model addressed to non-sharp edges in the images is proposed. This model is based on and integral transform with Haar-Gauss wavelet and matching algorithm of bandwidth, such model is used to detection of the edges in images with high-level noises, both in the x plane and the frequency domains. There is shown that applying the integral Haar-Gaussian transformation the detection of single and double edges is possible. Demonstrated in the paper results confirm that wavelet transform supported by the matching wavelet algorithm of wavelength bandwidth make an important exploration tool of the images with the edges possessing a large depth of sharpness.

Paper discusses the problem of pressure drop in the process of working medium flow through combustion chamber of gas turbine. The pressure loss is an internal disadvantage of combustion chamber depends on many parameters, especially the chamber design and working gas flowrate. There is a problem to calculate the parameters of working medium in characteristic points of gas turbine thermodynamic cycle because the total pressure before and after combustion chamber is not known. There is a lack of information from manufacturer about it and in publications as well (mainly no experimental data, only theoretical considerations). It will be important information because the pressure drop has an meaningful influence on gas turbine performance. The paper presents an estimation of decreasing the performance of gas turbine from discussed reason. Author of that manuscript recognized the necessity of showing the importance of that parameter and turning the attention to not fully recognized problem.

This article presents the results of numerical research on operational mechanical loads, carried out for the main structural elements of a cross-belt sorter: tracks and trolleys with trays. The goal of the research was to collect data required at the stage of designing new solutions of the sorters. A novelty is an analytical model that allows to determine the influence of the motion velocity of trolleys, frictional properties and mass of sorted objects on the forces transmitted from the trolleys to the track, the sorting efficiency and power required by the drive systems.

This article discusses the prospects for the implementation of the concept «Smart freight wagon» on the Russian railways. The article discusses a concept for developing in Russia a system for monitoring the operating conditions of rolling stock and transmitting telemetry data on the state of infrastructure under the design names «Smart freight wagon. Also, authors offer the author’s concept of this system improvements based on openHAB smart system model which helps to make the modular system in order to increase fault tolerance and flexibly adapt to the needs of specific customers.

This paper discusses the matter of fault detection by the diagnosticians of a Regional Vehicle Inspection Station (RVIS) in trucks. The analysis data were obtained directly from RVIS. The produced results were presented as bar graphs indicating the trend change from 2014 to 2018. Thus obtained trends were described by formulae and used to calculate the probability of a fault from the analysed group appearing. The obtained data dependency can be used to calculate the probability of a fault appearing in a truck during a year of operation.
