Background and Objective: Pressure ulcers regarded as preventable but occur in approximately 5% of all hospitalized patients (range of 3% to 12 % in published literature). It is more common in paraplegic patients. Only after the complete debridement of slough in grade 3 and grade 4 pressure sores the healing progresses and the infection can be controlled. A chemical solution of 5%Tankana in Gomutra Arka was reviewed in the management of a case of pressure ulcer. Presentation of Case: A 26 year old male hemiplegic patient presented with a wound in the sacral region which was diagnosed as a Grade 4 pressure ulcer measuring 12x13 cm. Manual Debridement of ulcer was associated with bleeding. Methodology: There after the solution of 5% Tankana in Gomutra Arka was applied upon the wound by soaking a gauge with the above solution. A regular passive movement of the lower part of the body was done to prevent further development of new Ulcer. Result: After 3 days of dressing 90 % or slough was reduced, discharge from the ulcer reduced and progression of infection had stopped. Discussion: Pressure ulcers impose an economic burden on the patient and common problem amongst bed ridden patients. Grade 4 pressure ulcers have a poor prognosis. Manual slough removal is usually associated with bleeding. Chemical debridement not only helps us in avoiding instances of bleeding but also is more effective in its reach and action. Conclusion: In this case 5% Tankana bhasma in Gomutra Arka was found to be very effective in slough removal which in turn reduced the total duration of management. Use of Chemical debriding agents in a grade 4 ulcer had hastened the process of slough removal and improves the overall rate of recovery. Mixture of Tankana and Gomutra Arka seemed to complement each other’s action on Vrana Shodhana.

The current study adopts the Ayurvedic principle of Samprapti Vighatana i.e. arresting the pathogenesis, through the usage of a novel self-formulated medicine powder named Haridradi Steam Powder (HSP) which is an anti-microbial decoction used for gargling, steam inhalation therapy, and nebulisation in the prevention of SARS-COV-2 disease by reducing the viral load in patients. Methodology: Haridradi Steam Powder (HSP) containing decoction for gargling, steam, and nebulisation by adding 3% normal saline were prepared and given to the -participants as per self-made protocol i.e. gargling was advised for primary contacts, asymptomatic patients, and healthy persons as a preventive tool. High-pressure steam inhalation was advised for mild to moderate symptomatic patients and 3% normal saline nebulisation was advised for moderate symptomatic patients. Results: Out of the total of 30 cases, comprising 22 primary contacts, 3 HRCT atypical viral pneumonia with severity score from 8 to 16, 3 RT-PCR positive patients, and 2 RT-PCR positive patients with HRCT score, a marked improvement was seen in more than 20 subjects within a short span of time. Conclusion: The treatment formulation HSP Mixture is found to be effective yet simple, safe, and cost-effective, and is used in different therapies in the prevention and management of early SARS-COV-2 disease.

The purpose of this review article is to identify and analyse, the problem of constipation, its causes, symptoms, risk factors and complications arising in human life. Constipation problems were recognised by some previous empirical research. Constipation presents as a perpetual problem in health-care with painful and debilitating consequences, however, it is frequently preventable. A prerequisite to prevention is an assessment of the risk of a condition occurring so that interventions can be individualised in an attempt to prevent it. Yoga is a unique way of lifestyle management of many common health misalignments for the prevention of diseases, preservation and promotion of health. Yoga, in fact, gives due importance to different layers of existence functions for maintaining positive health example physical layer (Annamaya Khosa), pranic layer (Pranamaya Khosa), mental layer (Manomaya Khosa), scientific layer (Vigyanmaya Khosa) and blissful layer (Anandamaya Khosa). Yoga is a science of integration of human consciousness with nature. The objective experimentation is the most important aspect of searching the truth employed by modern science that searches into many practices of yoga demanding both subjective as well as objective tools for understanding the effects for further application and wider acceptance. Studies have been conducted around the world on many yoga therapies for the management of the problem of constipation i.e enema that clears the constipation and provide mental peace. This enabled subsequent work to be performed to develop a risk assessment tool for constipation that could be used in clinical practice.

The left shoulder is more likely to be affected, with both shoulders affected in 12% of cases. A case study is presented to illustrate the clinical presentation, aetiology, diagnosis, radiological assessment, and management of frozen shoulder through Hijamah bila shurt (dry cupping) in a 60-year-old diabetic male patient. The present case was studied for over 8 weeks; Hijamah (dry cupping) was done on prescribed points for the affected shoulder twice a week for 8 weeks, and assessment was done at baseline and every 2 weeks. Shweta pradara is a pathological condition that is characterised by a localised symptom that is whitish discharge from the vaginal canal. The following are three criteria of leucorrhoea. 1) Excess secretion is evident from persistent vulvar moistness or staining of the undergarments or need to wear a vulvar pad, 2) It is non-purulent and non-offensive, 3) It is non-irritant and never causes pruritis, treatment of which includes to improvise the general health condition along with other specific management. Shweta pradara closely resembles leucorrhoea but does not completely fulfil the criteria. It has been explained mainly as a symptom in many diseases related to stree roga as well as prasuti tantra. Treatment options involve oral medications along with other lines of treatment like basti, lepa, varti, prakshalana and pichu. This indicates that the condition is more than just local. Very less has been explored about the systemic involvement in Shweta pradara which can be attempted to be established as the systemic disease as the acharyashave mentioned a separate classical treatment in order to combat the ailment, else can be understood as an important symptom of an underlying cause so as to attain symptomatic relief. Interpretation of Shweta pradara as a disease has been dealt in the article.
