12,3% (P≤0,05). The effect of the administration of different doses of the tissue biostimulant on the biochemical blood serum indices of replacement young cattle was studied. The experiment was carried out in the Altai Region in 4 groups of 10 Black-Pied replacement heifers of the Priobskiy type. When selecting the animals, their age (1 month) and live weight (51.3±1.48 kg) was taken into account. The experiment lasted 14 days. Saline solution was injected under the skin to the animals of the control group at a dose of 3.0 mL per 1 head; the tissue bio-stimulant was administered in the following doses: in the 1st trial group — 2.0 mL per head; the 2nd trial group 3.0 mL per head; the 3rd trial group — 4.0 mL per 1 head. The trial batch of the tissue bio-stimulant was made from velvet antler deer by-products and slaughterhouse offal by using the patent-protected technology. The tissue biostimulant was made from mesenteric lymph nodes and mediastinums, spleen, liver, uteri with 2—3 month old fetuses, and placentae collected under aseptic conditions from healthy animals at slaughter. The administration of the tissue bio-stimulant to heifers in different doses increased some of the studied biochemical blood serum indices. The tissue biostimulant dose of 3.0 mL per head should be considered the most optimal one; it increased the total protein content in blood serum by 1.4% (P≤0.05), glucose — by 22.6% (P≤0.05), and decreased cholesterol content by 12.3% (P≤0.05).

The seed bulls used for artificial insemination should be in good health, have outstanding genetic characteristics, have high sexual activity, and the biological products ob-tained from them should have high quality indices. One of the possible methods of increasing semen production is the introduction of dietary supplements into the diet. The intro-duction of new feed and biologically active supplements into the diet may cause both positive and negative changes in metabolic processes. Monitoring the biochemical status of blood allows detecting not only metabolic disorders in highly productive animals but also a lack of vitamins, mac-ro-and microelements. The research goal was to study the effect of a natural biostimulant (mineral supplement) made from maral antler press-cake on the blood biochemical indices ofBlack Pied seed bulls in the breeding company AO “Plempredpriyatiye Barnaulskoye”. Along with the basic diet, the seed bulls of the trial group received the natural biostimulant (mineral supplement) based on maral antler press-cake; the daily dose -15.0 g per head, for 30 days with 10 days’ interval after each application. The supple-ment was thoroughly mixed with compound feed before feeding. The mineral supplement is of powder form and contains a complex of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other biologically active substances. The use of a mineral supplement increased the amount of total protein and al-bumin by 7.15% and 18.3%, respectively. The blood glu-cose level in the seed bulls of the trial group was higher by 12% and cholesterol by 17.1% than in the blood of the con-trol group animals. Cholesterol of the seed bulls may be used as a structural material or a precursor in the synthesis of sex steroid hormones. The level of total calcium, alkaline reserve at the end of the experiment increased in the seed bulls when using the mineral supplement made from maral antler press-cake in the diet by 4.8% and 8.1%, respective-ly, as compared to the control group.

The quantity of young geese for fattening depends on the geese parent flock and its reproductive qualities. There-fore, an important technological point is the organization of balanced feeding of the parent flock. The research goal was tostudy the effect of needles diet supplement on the egg production of geese. The experiment was carried out in the peasant farm enterprise “KFKh Shuvaeva Marina Anatolyevna” on the geese of the parent flock of the Lindovskaya breed. To achieve this goal, two groups of 1000 geese were formed. The first group was the control and received the basic diet which nutritional value corre-sponded to the standard; the second group was the trial group, and its basic diet contained 0.5% of the needles feed supplement. This supplement was obtained by extru-sion and contained 199 mg of carotene per kg. The use of the needles supplement in geese diets of the parent flock at a dose of 0.5% increased the gross hatching egg yield per laying female housed by 10.14 and 11.1, respectively. At the same time, the economic effect from 1 head of the parent flock made 77.4 rubles.

Background The European CE Mark approval study and the MOMENTUM 3 trial demonstrated safety and a reduction in hemocompatibility-related adverse events with use of HeartMate 3 (HM3) device. This single center study investigated the real-world experience in HM3 patients since FDA approval. Methods This retrospective, observational study included patients implanted with the HM3 LVAD as a primary implant between October 2017-March 2020. Patients were divided into trial group and postapproval group. Primary endpoint was survival at 6 months. Secondary endpoints were adverse events including pump thrombosis (requiring pump exchange), stroke, renal failure, acute limb ischemia, re-exploratory for bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, right ventricular failure, and driveline infection. Results A total of 189 patients were implanted with HM3 device during the study period. 174 patients met the inclusion criteria: 82 patients in the trial group and 92 patients in the postapproval group. The postapproval group had younger patients, higher pre-operative mean international normalized ratio, and greater numbers of patients with bridge to transplant (BTT) indications, IINTERMACS profile 1, and use of mechanical assist devices (other than IABP) than the trial group. Other characteristics between the two groups were comparable. Overall survival at 6 months in the postapproval group was 93.3% vs. 93.8% ( p=0.88). The postapproval group demonstrated a statistically significant lower incidence of re-explorative surgery for bleeding (10.9% vs 46.3,  p=0.01) than the trial group. Conclusion In this single-center study, the real-world 6-month survival in the postapproval group was comparable to the trial results. Further studies are needed to monitor long-term outcomes.

Abstract Purpose To describe the burden of musculoskeletal features and associated surgeries across the lifespan of adults with X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH). Methods Three groups of adults were analyzed: subjects of a clinical trial, participants in an online survey, and a subgroup of the online survey participants considered comparable to the clinical trial subjects (according to Brief Pain Inventory worst pain scores of ≥4). In each group, the adults were categorized by age: 18–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and ≥60 years old. Rates of five prespecified musculoskeletal features and associated surgeries were investigated across these age bands for the three groups. Results Data from 336 adults were analyzed. In all three groups, 43–47% had a history of fracture, with the proportions increasing with age. The overall prevalence of osteoarthritis was >50% in all three groups, with a rate of 23–37% in the 18–29-year-old group, increasing with age. Similar patterns were observed for osteophytes and enthesopathy. Hip and knee arthroplasty was reported even in adults in their 30s. Spinal stenosis was present at a low prevalence, increasing with age. The proportion of adults with ≥2 musculoskeletal features was 59.1%, 55.0%, and 61.3% in the clinical trial group, survey group, and survey pain subgroup, respectively. Conclusions This analysis confirmed high rates of multiple musculoskeletal features beginning as early as age 20 years among adults with XLH and gradually accumulating with age.

Abstract Bovine syndactyly is an autosomal monogenic recessive trait associated with multiple mutations in the LRP4 gene encoding low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 4. This protein is a specific facilitator of sclerostin-mediated inhibition of both Wnt1/ β-catenin signaling and osteocyte-secreted bone formation. It is assumed that sclerostin induces a decrease in extracellular pH and promotes the release of calcium ions from mineralized substrates. Therefore, mutations in the LRP4 gene might be associated with changes in the elemental status. The aim of this research was to evaluate the elemental composition of serum in cattle carrying multiple SNP in the LRP4 gene (16 trial animals) compared to animals without such mutations (62 control animals). DNA samples from 78 Black Pied cattle were sequenced with a TruSeq Bovine Parentage Sequencing Panel (Illumina, USA) on a MiSeq Illumina platform following by SNP analysis. The elemental composition of the serum was determined using ICP-AES and ICP-MS. The levels of Ca and P, crucial bone elements, were higher in trial cattle than in control group by 12.9% (P = 0.004) and 22.5% (P = 0.008), respectively. The level of V affecting the uniform distribution of calcium salts in bones, was higher in trial group than in control one by 34.5% (P = 0.001). The concentrations of Mn and Mg were higher in trial group than in control one by 23.6% (P = 0.026) and 10.0% (P = 0.044), respectively. The Sr level in trial cattle was higher by 18.8% (P = 0.04) that may indicate the rickets-like state. A similar trend was observed for toxic metals As and Li. This study demonstrates the association of the LRP4 multiple SNP and the changes in cattle elemental status. Moreover, such heterozygous animals have a higher risk of mineral metabolism disorders. This research was supported by The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (Project No. 0526-2019-0001).
