This work is devoted to the formulation and construction of an analytical solution to the problem of contact between a cylindrical viscoelastic aging pipe with an internal thin coating and an insert having a complex shape placed inside the pipe with an interference fit. In practice, the presence of such coatings is required, for example, to protect the main structure from aggressive external or internal environments, for its electrical insulation, etc. The manufacturing process of the inner coating determines its possible heterogeneity (dependence of properties on coordinates). An insert placed inside a pipe can have a complex profile that has a rapidly changing function. Taking these features into account is important when analyzing the stress-strain state of pipes with an internal coating. Using an approach based on the use of special basis functions and the type of solution, a representation for the contact stresses in the pipe in the region of the rigid insert is obtained. This approach makes it possible to distinguish functions that describe the properties of the inner coating and the shape of the outer profile of the insert in the form of separate terms and factors in the expression for the contact stresses in the insert region. Therefore, in order to achieve high accuracy when carrying out calculations, it is sufficient to restrict ourselves to a relatively small number of terms

Although conventional organic solvents are used in electrophoretic deposition (EPD) owing to several advantages, they are hazardous because of their inflammability or ignition properties. In contrast, hydrofluoro ether (HFE) is nonflammable, polar and possesses excellent electrical insulation properties. In this study, methoxy-nonafluorobutane (MNFB), which is one of HFE was used as the solvent for the EPD of silica powder. Because the density of MNFB is larger than water, sedimentation of inorganic particles is slow. The deposition behavior in MNFB was similar to the EPD in conventional solvents, and was controlled by tuning the applied voltage, deposition time, and particle concentration. A uniform coating was obtained. Notably, the power consumed in this process was significantly lower than that in the EPD using conventional solvents. The current density was of the order of 10 nA/cm2; therefore, the electric power consumption for EPD using MNFB was less than 0.1% of those using conventional solvents. Therefore, MNFB can be used as an effective solvent for EPD because it is nonflammable, allows the application of high voltage, and enables the deposition of particles with low power consumption.

The development and application of plasma processing such as plasma assisted CVD and PVD become highly important in various industrial fields such as microelectronics, sensors, solar cells, automobiles, cutting tools, etc.  In PVD different process are used such as Vacuum Evaporation, Electron Beam evaporation, Sputtering etc. But all processes have common limitation of one as such deposition is inline sight. It is difficult to achieve uniform coating on complex surfaces, holes and trenches. The width dimension and higher aspect ratio (Depth: width >1) of trenches generally in compatible with sputter deposition. When aspect ratio is increased, undesirable discontinuity can be observed at the lower half compared to upper half of trenches.  So that 3 axis rotation of substrate holder was designed with a stepper motors to get uniform coating on complex surfaces and holes. The angle of rotation and the speed are controlled by programmed micro controller. By positioning the surface features perpendicular to the plasma the holes, grooves are coated uniformly. The coating was characterized using X-ray diffractometer, SEM and micro hardness tester.

Millimeter-scale calcium alginate aqueous core capsules (mm-CaSA-Caps) are suitable for embedding of temperature and chemical sensitive substances because of its excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability. In this study, mm-CaSA-Caps were coated with multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) via in situ self-polymerization of dopamine (DA) under mild conditions. During the modification process, mm-CaSA-Caps transferred quickly from colorless and transparent capsules to dark and opaque “pearls” in 15 min. The obtained MWNTs-polydopamine- (PDA-) modified mm-CaSA-Caps (mm-MWNTs-PDA@CaSA-Caps) retained the spherical appearance of mm-CaSA-Caps with uniform coating of MWNTs-PDA. Obviously, the MWNTs were easily coated on the mm-PDA@CaSA-Caps due to the strong adhesive property of PDA. As the MWNTs content increased, the stacking density of MWNTs on surface of the mm-MWNTs-PDA@CaSA-Caps raised. The water loss ratio of mm-MWNTs-PDA@CaSA-Caps was enhanced ascribed to increasing the path length of water by raising stacking density of MWNTs. This study provided a new path for enhancement of the barrier property of hydrogel capsules.

ABSTRACTElectrophoretic deposition (EPD) was explored as an inexpensive route for fabricating the 8mol% yttria stabilized zirconia electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Normally, deposition of particulate ceramic powders onto a sintered porous surface yields a non uniform coating which, after sintering, results in porosity, surface roughness and cracking in the coating. To overcome this problem, the present study used a fugitive graphite interlayer between the porous air electrode supported (AES) cathode tube (doped-LaMnO3) and the deposited zirconia film. By this approach, a fairly dense green coating (˜ 60%) was obtained, which yielded a smooth surface and pore-free microstructure after sintering. Preliminary results on the effect of a fugitive interlayer on the unfired (green) and fired zirconia coatings are discussed.
