The antibacterial activity of three Cupressaceae plants (Thujaoccidentalis,ThujaorientalisandChamaecyparisobtusa) was tested against three bacteria using the agar diffusion method. The ether and ethylacetate fraction of crude methanol extract from the three plants showed potent antibacterial activity against the tested microorganisms. The result showed that Staphylococcus aureus revealed the most sensitivity among the tested bacteria. Thujaoccidentalisether fraction and Thujaorientalis hexane fraction exhibited the highest antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. E. coli was shown the highest MIC values compared to the other two tested bacteria, which indicates the lowest antibacterial activity against the bacterium. This study promises an interesting future for designing a potentially active antibacterial agent from the three Cupressaceae plants.

Carbon microspheres (CMSs) were used as the carrier to prepare the Ag-loading CMSs (Ag/CMSs) antibacterial agent through the method of chemical adsorption. The morphologies and structures of modified CMSs were characterized by using the field emission Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results showed that silver was absorbed on the surface of CMSs. The bacterial inhibition ring experiment showed that Ag/CMSs had good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, meanwhile the diameters of the bacterial inhibition rings were 19 mm against Staphylococcus aureus and 21 mm against Escherichia coli, respectively.

The widespread and uncontrollable emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, especially methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, has promoted a wave of efforts to discover a new generation of antibiotics that prevent or treat bacterial infections neither as bactericides nor bacteriostats. Due to its crucial role in virulence and its nonessentiality in bacterial survival, sortase A has been considered as a great target for new antibiotics. Sortase A inhibitors have emerged as promising alternative antivirulence agents against bacteria. Herein, the structural and preparative aspects of some small synthetic organic compounds that block the pathogenic action of sortase A have been described.

The packaging of food, beverages, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, cosmetics and other goods requires higher property of security and some special functionality such as the property of anti-bacterial; the property of anti-bacterial can be achieved by using anti-bacterial agent in the ink. In this paper, a kind of zinc-copper antibacterial agent was made by attached the metal Zn2+, Cu2+on the zeolite by ion exchange and the zeolite modified was used as a carrier; Than the zinc-copper anti-bacterial UV ink was prepared by mixing and grinding zinc-copper antibacterial agent, polyester acrylate, HDDA, TMPTA, titanium dioxide and other element of UV ink; Finally the property of anti-bacterial of Escherichia.coli(anti-E.coli) and staphylococcus aureus were tested; this paper focus on the analysis and discussion of the influence of different concentration antibacterial agent on the property of ink. This study has some practical significance to the research on the property on anti-bacterial of ink.
