The biogas originated from anaerobic degradation of organic matter in landfills consists basically in CH4, CO2, and H2O. The landfills represent an important depository of organic matter with high energetic potential in Brazil, although with inexpressive use in the present. The estimation of production of the productive rate of biogas represents one of the major difficulties of technical order to the planning of capture system for rational consumption of this resource. The applied geophysics consists in a set of methods and techniques with wide use in environmental and hydrogeological studies. The DC resistivity method is largely applied in environmental diagnosis of the contamination in soil and groundwater, due to the contrast of electrical properties frequent between contaminated areas and the natural environment. This paper aims to evaluate eventual relationships between biogas flows quantified in drains located in the landfill, with characteristic patterns of electrical resistivity in depth. The drain of higher flow (117 m3/h) in depth was characterized for values between 8000 Ω·m and 100.000 Ω·m, in contrast with values below 2000 Ω·m, which characterize in subsurface the drain with less flow (37 m3/h), besides intermediary flow and electrical resistivity values, attributed to the predominance of areas with accumulation or generation of biogas.

The features of chemical composition of sapropel in district Sol-Iletsk (Orenburg region) were studied in detail. Biological testing of sapropel preparations was carried out. Comparative analysis of the chemical composition of sapropel and flora, fauna, meadow, higher plants, algae with a composition of organic matter sapropel was made. Genetic link of chemical compound of sapropel, plant and animal material, participating in the formation of the latter, with biological activity sapropel drugs was established.

He special merits of Z.A. Waksman and I.V. Turin are marked in the development of soil humus and organic matter theory. Little-known pages ex vivo of these outstanding experimentalist scientists, founders of two schools and acknowledged leaders in the investigation of the soil organic matter, are presented in the article. A comparative analysis of theories by I.V. Turin and Z.A. Waksman on the origins, composition and properties of the soil organic matter is given. Actual conceptions, ways and methods of the organic matter fractioning are described in the work. The alternative points of view on the humine matters of soils by I. V. Turin and Z. A. Waksman are considered. A brief review on the heteropolymeric and supramolecular models of soil humic matter composition is presented.

ABSTRACTEffect of slope gradient and its position to plow depth layer, organic matter, Al and Fe contentsThis research was done to know the influence of slope gradient and its position to plow depth layer, organic matter, Al and Fe contents. This research was carried out January-March 2011. The research used survey method with descriptive comparative analysis with free physiographic approach based on land cover. Sampling technique was used a purposive stratified sampling. Soil sampel took from three slope gradients: 8-15%, 16-25% and 26-40% with three position of crest, middle and lower positions. The result showed that the gradient of slope and its position have influenced plow layer depth and content of iron but organic material and Al were not influenced. The highest of plow layer depth and content of iron were occured at 8-15%, while the highest of content of Al and iron were occured at 16-25 %. Based on slope position, the thick of plow layer, the content of organic matter, Fe wereoccured highest in the lower position and Al was occured in the middle position.

Object of research - disturbed lands of Ingulets Iron Ore dressing Work (Ingulets GZK) The purpose of work - development and substantiation of technology of realization of principles of cascade waste use. Research methods – field experiment, comparative analysis, systems analysis. As part of the implementation of the cascade waste use principle, the results of research on the impact of the application of sewage sludge on formation of protosoils on the rocks of Ingulets GZK dumps are presented. The application of sewage sludge significantly increases the absorption capacity of overburden. A secondary soil absorbing complex is formed, which is able to accumulate and retain mineral nutrients of plants, especially calcium and magnesium cations. In the conditions of field research the influence of treatment of rocks with organic matter of sewage with introduction of seeds of perspective species was studied. Comparative analysis of vegetation shows a positive effect of the treatment of overburden with organic matter on productivity and morphometric performance of trees and shrubs. A comparison of the average condition of plant objects after treatment with organic matter and control studies shows the following: the vitality of herbaceous and tree species increases; the total projective cover and average height of plants increases; biodiversity.

This study aimed to determine the similarity of the characteristics of each type of organic matter in suppressing the solubility of iron in soil and absorption in plants. This research was conducted in two stages. The first stage was conducted in the greenhouse to study the effect of organic matter to iron solubility in acidic sulphate soil. The research used a factorial design with 1 control and 3 replications. The first factor was type of organic matter used, B1 = rice straw; B2 = weeds; B3 = Combination of 50% rice straw and 50% weeds. The second factor was the incubation period of organic matter I1 = 2 weeks, I2 = 4 weeks, I3 = 8 weeks, and I4 = 12 weeks. The second stage was analyzing the profiles of the type of organic matter in order to evaluate the similarity of the characteristics of each type of organic matter. Based on the profile alignment, it was found that the three types of organic matter were not aligned. The types of organic matter had different roles in suppressing the solubility of iron in soil and its absorption in plants. There is a need to do a comparative analysis with Tukey method to the three types of organic matter.
