Purpose: This pilot study evaluated the outcomes of tendon Achilles lengthening in 12 children (mean age: 11.2 years) with spastic hemiplegia. Methods: Cerebral Palsy Computer Adaptive Tests, the timed up-and-go, the Gross Motor Function Measure, the Gillette Functional Assessment Questionnaire, and the Pediatric Outcomes Data Collection Instrument were administered at baseline and at 6, 12, and 24 months postsurgery. Results: Significant improvement at the latest follow-up (12-24 months following surgery) was seen in all domains of the Cerebral Palsy Computer Adaptive Test: activity ( P = .017), lower extremity ( P = .005), global ( P = .005), pain ( P = .005), and fatigue ( P = .028), as well as in the Gross Motor Function Measure-standing domain ( P = .02) and the mobility domain of the Pediatric Outcomes Data Collection Instrument ( P = .04). Conclusion: These findings indicate that the tendon Achilles lengthening improved functional outcome in these children as measured by tests of physical function, walking speed, and activity performance.

This research is motivated by the discovery of teachers who do not compile test instruments according to the indicators and learning objectives, teachers have not been able to arrange instruments according to the level of difficulty, and the use of language according to the level of understanding of students. This study aims to improve the ability of teachers to compile test instruments through integrated self-assessment training activities. This research is in the form of school action research conducted on teachers of SDN 007 Pematang Ibul. The research subjects were 17 teachers. The data collection instrument used an observation sheet. The results showed that in the first cycle the teacher's ability to compile the test instrument was 71.78 which was a good criterion, then increased in the second cycle to 87.14 which reached very good criteria. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that through integrated self-assessment training can improve the ability of SDN 007 Pematang Ibul teachers in preparing test instruments.

Atividades Experimentais. Ensino de Ciências. Abstract Practical activities contribute to greater participation of students in the disciplines, helps to arouse interest in content, besides contributing to the understanding and construction of scientific knowledge. Thus, the present research aimed to elaborate a scientific experiment, in order to assist students of a degree course in Biological Sciences to better understand the content of secondary metabolites – allelopathy, as well as analyzing the contribution of such a strategy. Thus, the reports contained in the evaluative syntheses answered by the students were used as data collection instrument. The analysis of the results was based on the theoretical framework of Discursive Textual Analysis. The results of the experiment showed evidence that the strategy used aroused interest in students, enabling learning moments. As well as, it contributed to the initial formation of these future teachers, because it allowed the graduates to mobilize teaching knowledge, such as disciplinary, pedagogical and experiential. When this mobilization of knowledge is evidenced, it is possible to have indications that the undergraduates may have prerequisites to prepare classes in the applied didactic model. One of the developments of this research is to motivate researchers in the teaching area to return their research to teacher education, in order to prepare them to employ different didactic strategies in science and biology teaching. Keywords: Teacher training. Practical classes. Experimental Activities. Science Teaching.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to build and validate a data collection instrument for onco-hematological patients undergoing outpatient chemotherapy. Methods: methodological study that aimed to build a scientifically consistent data collection instrument to evaluate hematological patients. There were five stages: identification of empirical indicators, evaluation of empirical indicators by focus group, construction of the instrument, content validation by judges and clinical validation. Built based on the Theory of Basic Human Needs of Horta, adjusted by Garcias and Cubas. Results: the built instrument contains data on patient identification, perception and expectations related to the disease, assessment of psychobiological, psychosocial and psychospiritual needs. It reached 95% CVI, ensuring the instrument’s content validity and Cronbach’s alpha test with a reliability of 0.93. Conclusions: the instrument is a valid technology to assist nurses in data collection and may serve as a tool for onco-hematological nursing care, teaching and research.
