This study aims to determine the acceptance of technology in Islamic boarding schools and their use in terms of physics learning outcomes, it is necessary to conduct research on technology acceptance among Islamic boarding schools. In this study, the acceptance of the technology was measured using the TAM model. Measurements were carried out in several Islamic boarding schools in the Aceh Besar area. The instrument used is a questionnaire on the perception of acceptance of information technology and documentation in the form of students' scores. The results obtained are the perception of students' acceptance of technology consisting of five indicators, namely the perception of PEOU (Perceived Ease of Use), PU (Perceived Usefulness), ATU (Attitude Toward Using), AU (Actual Usage), and B (Behavioral) towards information technology. Towards students tend to be high, and if there is the influence of other variables and not included in the study, so it can be seen that technology acceptance tends to be high. There is a strong relationship between Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) and Perceived Usefulness (PU), PEOU and Attitude Toward Using (ATU), and Behavioral Intention (B) and Actual Usage (AU)

Today’s technologies can support joint, but physically disparate work efforts. Some groups of professionals that could benefit from using these technologies do not adopt them, while others use the technologies frequently. This study provides an in-depth examination of how and when one organization accepted technology in their decision-making efforts. The research examines actual usage of the technology rather than the less strong, but more common measure, intention to use technology. As a result, the paper has helped bridge the gap between what people intend to do and what they actually do, thereby providing both a stronger theoretical basis for the TAM model and some insights into the evolution of the TAM model. It examines an emerging extension to the TAM and provides evidence of the behavior of users when they must act as a group.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the associated lockdown measures have risen the malnutrition problem in the world, especially in Africa. The use of nutrition apps/software at individual level therefore appears as suitable solution given the context. This study aimed at assessing the actual usage level of nutrition apps/software and the determining factors. A cross-sectional study consisting of an online-survey conducted from April to May 2020 with as target Africans aged of 18 and above was carried out. A total of 460 respondents from different African countries was registered. Globally they appeared to have started using computer and smartphones since at least 5 years and this mostly at a daily frequency together with internet. A total of 52.2 % of the respondents recognized not to apply or not to know if they apply the principles of a balanced diet in their day-to-day life, but just 18% reported to be using a nutrition apps/software; COVID-19 pandemic having pushed 7% to refer more to these tools and 0.7% to start using one. South Africa nationals, people living in a household of 3-5 people and those having a monthly income above 500 USD tended to use them more. Almost half of the users report that these tools do not take into consideration foods available in their context. On the other hand, almost half of the non-users (41.5% of respondents) said they would prefer to be advised by a dietician. However up to 50.9% clearly stated they are interested in learning more about these tools, which is of quite of big interest in preventing Non-communicable diseases resurgence in relation to COVID-19 pandemic. Doi: 10.28991/SciMedJ-2021-03-SI-3 Full Text: PDF

Mobile phones are playing an important role in financial inclusion since large numbers are still unbanked or financially excluded. Mobile banking is center of attraction to the youths. This study attempts to study the perception of the youths towards mobile driven financial inclusion in Gwalior city and to access the factors influencing the use of mobile in financial services in Gwalior City. The study covers the respondents of age group 18-40 years. The study framed the TAM model using the four factor i) Perceived Ease of Use, ii) Perceived Usage, iii) Perceived Usefulness and iv) Actual Usage. The study derived the TAM model sequencing influence perceived ease of use to perceived usage, perceived usage to perceived usefulness and perceived usefulness to actual usage. Although study contains certain limitation still has some implications providing recommendation for the improvement and modification of the mobile banking services and make them more friendly and secure.

Data on having ever tried and current frequency of use for fifteen psychoactives were obtained from 1121 male and female adults. Treatment of the data reveals a usage hierarchy for these drugs and the deviancy associated with a specific usage level, for a given drug. It is proposed that drug use is determined by cost-benefit analyses, performed by the individual, and that each of the fifteen psychotropics has its own index which is based on actual usage parameters.

The increasing ubiquity of mobile device and social media (SM) use has generated a substantial amount of research examining how these phenomena may impact public health. Prior studies have found that mobile device and SM use are associated with various aspects of well-being. However, a large portion of these studies relied upon self-reported estimates to measure amount of use, which can be inaccurate. Utilizing Apple’s “Screen Time” application to obtain actual iPhone and SM use data, the current study examined the accuracy of self-reported estimates, how inaccuracies bias relationships between use and well-being (depression, loneliness, and life satisfaction), and the degree to which inaccuracies were predicted by levels of well-being. Among a sample of 393 iPhone users, we found that: a.) participants misestimated their weekly overall iPhone and SM use by 22.1 and 16.6 hours, respectively; b.) the correlations between estimated use and well-being variables were consistently stronger than the correlations between actual use and well-being variables; and c.) the amount of inaccuracy in estimated use is associated with levels of participant well-being as well as amount of use. These findings suggest that estimates of device/SM use may be biased by factors that are fundamental to the relationships being investigated. **This manuscript is currently under review**

ABSTRACT The entry of smartphones into our lives is due to two primary reasons – the rapid advancement in technology and R & D, making present technology redundant within weeks and the drastic drop in prices of smartphones which occur weekly or monthly. The objectives of this paper are: (1) To provide a more holistic view of smartphone users' preference (2) To have depth analysis on how consumers put a premium on various smartphone features application and tools (3) To understand how prospective customers appreciate the good features of the product. Three statistical tools were used: Frequency Distribution to get the profile of the respondent's actual usage of smartphones and attitudes of consumers, Pearson Correlation, and Conjoint analysis, which was used to analyze the preference of the respondents on smartphone attributes. This study showed a moderately fit conjoint model, Pearson R =.742, p<.05, Kendall's Tau was .333, p<.05 and .333, p< .05 for the holdouts. From the given set of attributes, price (47.11%) is the most important, followed by the SIM card slot (19.05%), and the phone plan (9.14%). This paper is the first study done in the Philippines about the usage, attitudes of consumers towards smartphones using conjoint analysis. The analysis would help companies to understand what aspects of their products are essential and irrelevant. Companies will act upon a certain aspect to ensure higher profitability. Type of Paper: Empirical Keywords: local government hospitals; Philippines; policy direction; quality patient care
