AbstractStudies of the relationship between creativity and specific reading disabilities have produced inconclusive results. We explored their relationship in a sample of 259 college students (age range: 17 to 38 years-old) from three Chilean universities. The students were tested on their verbal ability, creativity, and insight. A simple linear regression was performed on the complete sample, and on high- and low-achievement groups that were formed based on reading test scores. We observed a significant correlation in the total sample between outcomes on the verbal ability tasks, and on the creativity and insight tasks (range r =. 152 to r =. 356, ps <.001). Scores on the reading comprehension and phonological awareness tasks were the best predictors of performance on creativity and insight tasks (range β = .315 to β = .155, ps <.05). A comparison of the low- and high-scoring groups on verbal ability tasks yielded results to the same effect. These findings do not support the hypothesis that specific reading disability is associated with better performance on creative tasks. Instead, higher verbal ability was found to be associated with higher creativity and insight.

Abstract: The aim of study is investigating the relationship between Support Reading Strategy and reading comprehension. Consequently, the research method to deploy was simple linear regression. Meanwhile, because the population target of the study was all public senior high school students in the municipal area of Malang, East Java, Indonesia, the sample consisted of 301 students from three different schools. Inferring from parametric statistical analysis involving data obtained by conducting Survey of Reading Strategy (SORS) and reading test, the finding indicates that Support Reading Strategy fails to be in good favor toward students’ reading comprehension.

This study aimed to identify the relationship between father’s involvement in parenting and children anxiety level. The variables of this research were the father’s involvement in parenting (X) and the anxiety level of children (Y) using a descriptive quantitative approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling which consisted of children within the age range of 7-8 years old who experienced sexual abuse, having biological parents, and living in South Tangerang City. A total of 14 children were taken as the samples based on the sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through the scale of father’s involvement in parenting and the Spence Children’s Anxiety Scale. Simple linear regression was used to test the relationship between the father’s involvement in parenting and children anxiety level. The results showed that the significance score 0.000 < 0.05, it means that father’s involvement influenced the anxiety level of children experiencing sexual abuse.

ABSTRACTThe relationship between age and loneliness is intriguing. While loneliness has been widely perceived as a problem of old age, there is evidence suggesting that adolescence is the peak age for experiencing loneliness and there are demonstrable variations between nations in reported rates of loneliness. However, comparative data for examining both the prevalence of loneliness across age groups and across nations are sparse. As the first phase of a larger project, we explore the prevalence of loneliness across different age groups in 25 European nations, with a focus on people of an advanced age. After discussing issues of comparability, we present our empirical findings employing data collected in the third round (2006–07) of the European Social Survey (total sample size 47,099, age range 15–101) which included a ‘self-rating’ loneliness scale. Our results suggest that the prevalence of loneliness does increase with age for the combined sample. However, the nation in which one lives shows a greater impact than age on reported levels of loneliness, with Russia and Eastern European nations having the highest proportions of lonely people (about 10–34% for different age groups) and Northern European nations the lowest (mostly below 6%). Possible explanatory factors are identified and discussed, which provides the groundwork of a subsequent and formal study.

An attempt was made to study relationship between organizational commitment and job satisfaction as well as role of organizational commitment on job satisfaction among private sector employees. The sample of the study was selected by using the purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 50; participant’s age range was 35 to 55 years. Organizational Commitment Scale (2001) developed by Shawkat and Ansari and Job Satisfaction Scale developed by Dubey, Uppal, Verma and Maini (1989). Pearson product moment correlation was used to study the relationship between different dimensions of organizational commitment and job satisfaction as well as simple linear regression was used to examine the role of organizational commitment on job satisfaction among private sector employees. It was found that different dimensions of organizational commitment significantly and positively correlated with job satisfaction, it was also found that organizational commitment has significant influence on job satisfaction among private sector employees. The result revealed that, when organizational commitment increases job satisfaction also increases and vice versa.

The present study was designed to find the association between terrorism catastrophizing, death anxiety and anger among police and shopkeepers. The total sample comprised of two hundred and seventy six (N=276) subjects, including one hundred and thirty five (n=135) police personnel and one hundred and forty one (n=141) shopkeepers using convenient sampling technique. The age range was 24 to 60 years. Terrorism catastrophizing scale, death anxiety scale, and Novaco anger scale were used for data collection. Both groups were individually interviewed and were contacted through proper channel. Association between terrorism catastrophizing, death anxiety and anger was investigated among police personnel and shopkeepers. Comparison was made between police personnel and shopkeepers regarding terrorism catastrophizing, death anxiety and anger. Results revealed that there was no significant difference between the scores of shopkeepers and police personnel on terrorism catastrophizing and anger, however police personnel showed slightly higher scores on death anxiety as compared to shopkeepers. Simple linear regression of the data revealed terrorism catasrophizing as a predictor of death anxiety among police personnel and shopkeepers. Significant negative association between anger and terrorism catastrophizing among police personnel predicts controlled fear at the time of crises and steadfastness in fighting spirit. Findings suggests that police is as vulnerable to consequences of traumatic events as any other individual or professional, yet police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is determined in taking risks as shown in negative association between anger and terrorism catestrophizing.

Introduction: Latent TB is still a problem in Indonesia, the absence of symptoms in patients with latent TB makespatients feel they don't need treatment. Aim of study: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship oflatent TB incidence with TB contact patients. Method: This study uses research data on the role of gammainterferon as a marker of the effectiveness of the BCG vaccine, the sample in this study has a complete examinationrecord, especially IGRA examination, then the data are analyzed by the Chi squre method. The total sample was 421respondents. Results and Discussion: Based on the results of the study of female respondents was 265 (62.9%), withan age range of 21-40 were 186 (44.2%) respondents, Positive IGRA 123 (29.2%) respodents, patient contact withTB patients was 105 people, and no contact history with TB patients was 316 people. The prevalence of latent TBwas 29 percent, while respondents who have a history of contact with tuberculosis patients about 33.3 percent andwithout a contact history of 27.8 percent. Conclusion: From the results of the analysis, there was no significantrelationship between latent tuberculosis events and contact history with tuberculosis patients (P value 0.284).Therefore, further research needs to be done to include variables that have not been included in the beginning suchas economic factors, respondent nutrition, and conduct a re-examination to determine the current health status ofrespondents.
