Planning seeks to shape sociospatial outcomes but is also, by nature, future oriented. Yet, planning theory and practice have paid relatively little attention to ongoing debates about changing social relations to time. Building on a wide range of disciplines, we review the multiple temporalities through which lives are lived, the modern imposition of clock time, postmodern acceleration phenomena in the Anthropocene, and their implications for planning’s relationship to the past, present, and future and for planning theory. We discuss how thinking more and differently about time might challenge and improve planning by helping theory do better justice to the complexity of practice. We conclude by outlining eight propositions for rethinking planning’s relationship to time.

ABSTRACT Objective: To reflect on the advances and setbacks in the protection of the fundamental right to labor; demonstrate the interaction between theory and practice to meet the need for social transformation; and implementation and protection of fundamental rights in social, labor and business relations. Methodology: By way of the hypothetical deductive method of bibliographic review, with the use of comparative law and constitutional economic analysis of labor law, it will seek to reflect on the advances and setbacks in the protection of the fundamental right to labor. Results:The finding obtained from the investigation allows to conclude that, although thirty years after the Brazilian Constitution of 1988, its effectiveness still meets several barriers, which turns it into a letter of intentions. As a result, it is also possible to see a latent frustration in view of various infra-constitutional regulations that corrupt, deconstruct constitutional prediction, distort the democratic ideal and form a just and egalitarian society. However, as a result, the investigation is hopeful with the constitutional text, since there is a constitutionality and conventionality control to guarantee the effectiveness of the Magna Carta text, in particular labor legislation. Contributions: The contribution of the study lies in the constitutional reading of social relations, especially in the protection of social rights, in particular, labor law. Therefore, even if the infra-constitutional laws differ from the constitutional text, there are measures (control of constitutionality and conventionality) as mechanisms capable of resisting attacks against the constitutional ideal of an egalitarian, just and supportive society. KEYWORDS: Constitution; labor constitution; normative force; fundamental social rights; fundamental right to labor.

An analysis of a number of articles in imperial and early Soviet newspapers and journals, including “Jaridat Dagistan”, shows that the theological discussion that existed in Dagestan in manuscript tradition for more than three hundred years migrated to some extent to new press. This applies to some issues of the theory of Islamic law (the problem of taqlid and ijtihad), as well as some practical legal issues in the field of worship (‘ibada) and in the sphere of social relations (mu’amala). In the late 1960’s in Tashkent, the journal “Muslims of the Soviet Orient” was founded, many issues of which were sent to Dagestan in Uzbek (in Arabic script) and in Arabic; various issues of this journal are currently being found in a number of private collections in Dagestan. In many articles the influence of the already established Soviet Oriental scholarly tradition is noticeable. Articles devoted to the theory and practice of Islamic law, to various issues of Muslim theology, are practically absent. An analysis of the articles of this journal and the “Jaridat Dagistan” shows that if the latter was formed and edited exclusively by Dagestani theologians and served as a platform for discussing theological issues, the journal “Muslims of the Soviet Orient” was a Soviet attempt to represent Muslims and showed how they were seen or wanted to be seen by Soviet authority.

This chapter proposes a new hypothesis to the refusal to cooperate from qualified professionals and supports it with five arguments drawn from the fields of sociology of work and professions. The management of knowledge (KM) is based, among other things, on a system for pooling knowledge to which employees must contribute. Nevertheless, the experts of KM persistently note the relative failure of knowledgepooling practices, particularly among the highly qualified professionals. Some experts have little to say about this issue and the scarce explanations they provide are highly unsatisfactory sociologically speaking and inspired by a folk psychology discourse. Sociology of work and professions, particularly, provide the grounds for alternative and more solid analysis of the phenomenon.

In recent years, the education sector has been a key player in nation- and state-building, a leading social institu- tion responsible for innovative human development, the formation of competitive human capital, so the leading task of the Ukrainian state was and remains a functioning and self-sufficient national education system. would progressive traditions of the past, correspond to new social relations and accumulate innovative potential for fur- ther development. However, despite a number of positive developments in national education in recent years, the historically accumulated inconsistency of domestic education and science with best European and world practice is still acute. The article attempts to theoretically investigate the evolution of scientific views on the development and reform of education in Ukraine through the prism of publications of authors-researchers on the pages of the scientific professional publication «Pedagogical education: theory and practice. Psychology. Pedagogy» and the results of a comprehensive analysis of the state and development of national education for the 30-year period of indepen- dence of Ukraine, presented in analytical publications of the NAPS of Ukraine: White Book of National Education (2010), National Report on the state and prospects of education in Ukraine (2011, 2016, 2021). Attention is paid to the continuum of current problems in the educational sphere, assessment of the current state and short- term prospects of Ukrainian education and scientific substantiation of ways to modernize national education in the cross section of two planes — the position of leading NAPS scientists and practitioners. Building the concept of research of evolution of views, ideas, positions, beliefs of educational community on actual questions of development of education through a prism of scientific publications of authors of the researched edition, we outlined for ourselves two strategic vectors of the analysis: features of formation of the national self- sufficient integral system of education of the sovereign country for the periods 2001-2010, 2011-2015 and 2016- 2021 and the analytical characteristic of a focus of scientific attention of educators-contributors of magazine «Pedagogical education: theory and practice. Psychology. Pedagogy» in the studied periods.

We outlined a bibliographical study based on Gramsci’s theoretical background and his main interprets. The study disclosed that, for Gramsci, the State is not seen as something monolithic, without any internal contradictions, the fractions of the block in power are present in the State, in its apparatuses, organs and in the definition of policies. The contradictions that follow them also appear in the State. Thus, the State is a fi eld of disputes between the fundamental classes for the conquest of hegemony. The unitary school, promoting the unilateral human formation, is fundamental for the subaltern classes in the construction of the new hegemony and, on the other hand, an alternative project of society and education. In the unitary school will happen the union between intellectual and manual labor, theory and practice, professional and general formation, the specialist and the political, preparing the subaltern classes for the functions of management, of governor, of specialist and of political direction, placing them in conditions of disposing the State and in order to common good. Keywords: Gramsci. Purpose In the context of European consumers’ experiences of austerity, this study aims to advance current resilience theory in marketing through developing persistent resilience from a context of austerity influenced consumption. Design/methodology/approach Following an interpretivist approach, 38 face to face, in-depth interviews were conducted with European consumers from Ireland, UK, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece who were affected in some way by the global financial crisis. Findings Building upon limited conceptual and empirical investigations in social geography, the analysis identifies the themes of persistent stressors and temporal orientation as constants, alongside day-to-day coping, relating and pragmatism, consumer adjustment, repertoires of resistance and transformation as key elements of persistent resilience within the consumption context of austerity. Research limitations/implications The study addresses the limited theoretical and empirical focus on persistent resilience and austerity and directly contributes to consumer behaviour and marketing theory in understanding persistent resilience and its implications. Practical implications Changes to behaviours as a result of persistent resilience included reducing and stopping consumption, discount shopping, alternative consumption in the form of growing or making and mindful consumption through wastage reduction and re-use. Social implications The study highlights the significant social impact of austerity while also identifying positive outcomes for social relations among family, friends and the wider community. Originality/value This study develops and extends Golubchikov’s (2011) theory of persistent resilience through exploring European consumer responses to austerity, identifying key consumption characteristics relevant for marketing theory and practice.

The research is devoted to the information society phenomenon analysis both in theoretical aspect (the term genesis, the concept development) and in practice. The historical evolution of the information transfer technical means and social communication models is thoroughly analyzed. Primary attention is focused on modern technologies, which enabled the emergence of new social relations: the hypermedia (including the interactive television) and Internet platforms (Web 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0). Creation of a "virtual reality" predetermined the introduction of the so called "Network Society" – a society based on the Internet-communication. Not only wide factual evidence, but also different viewpoints on history, modern condition and prospects of the information society are provided in the article.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to evaluate critically the constructivist-grounded theory in elite interviews, the methodology used for this research. Design/methodology/approach – The research is about the challenges of the EU rail industry integration in the context of EU integration as seen and told by the involved actors. In particular, the integration process requires leadership in the multi-level governance context of the EU and in the transition from state monopolies to businesses providing services on the integrated market. This provides a potential source of theoretically and practically relevant research questions; and second rigorous grounded research methodologies will bring insight that transcends the currently accepted formal and public statements about the phenomena. The work is situated within social constructivist ontology, enacted through a rigorous grounded theory approach to understanding the current challenges of the industry and seeking more effective developments for the future. Findings – Findings place the concepts of leadership and debt into a relationship that could offer profound understanding of certain social relations and contribute to the growth of theory and practice. These findings are also elaborated in this paper as reflections on the methodological process. Research limitations/implications – Contribution to theory and practice supports the relevance and rigor of “constructivist-grounded theory in elite interviews” as a methodological approach. Practical implications – In particular, it supports qualitative research in complex political environments, such as the multi-level governance structures of the EU. Social implications – A clearer understanding of leadership within such dynamic contexts can make a substantial contribution to better policy-making in the EU and better outcomes for its citizens. Originality/value – Further analysis and research of the concepts of leadership and debt and their relationship could offer profound understanding of certain social relations and contribute to the growth of theory and practice.
