Due to the turbulent economic development in recent years and the rising number of financial issues individuals need to deal with, financial literacy is becoming a widely recognized concept, which, among others, spreads into the field of primary and secondary education. However, in each country, the different political, social, or cultural environment influences the final form of concept implementation. Therefore, the presented study focuses on the analysis and comparison of project curricula, which are crucial documents for financial education at the primary levels. A categorical system was presented as the main research tool, with the purpose to examine documents from the countries of the USA (Utah), Canada (Ontario), the Czech Republic and Australia. The results suggested the relative disunity of the financial literacy concept within the Ontario curriculum, as no comprehensive content block is devoted to it during the study. The concept is presented only as one of the cross-curricular topics, often lacking any continuity. Within the Utah curriculum, the individual actions should be cognitively more demanding so that the students are properly stimulated to be active and solve the given task. The Czech curriculum then suffers from a lack of guidance in the curriculum concerning financial literacy. The cause might be in the lower scope of the document.

Using the pilot survey data on "Measuring financial literacy" in 2010 from OECD (International Network for Financial Education, INFE), this paper aims to investigate the influence of sociodemographic and financial knowledge factors on four selected financial management practices of Malaysians. The four types of financial management practices are: whether the individual plans a budget, lives within their means, is prepared for income shock and owns an insurance policy. These four financial management practices are used to measure individuals' overall financial management behaviour. The measurement of financial management behaviour is divided into three levels depending on the type of financial management practices carried out by individuals. Ordered probit is used to determine socio-economic factors that are significant in explaining the varying differences in the financial management behaviours among Malaysians. The paper also identifies the financial knowledge gaps and investigates the levels of financial knowledge of Malaysians. While the majority of Malaysians show an average level of financial knowledge and plan their budget, many are financially unprepared for income shock and unexpected circumstances. The findings show that ethnicity, income, gender, regularity of income, education, age and financial knowledge have significant effect on individuals’ financial management behaviour. The findings have implications for regulators, financial educators and consumer groups in their efforts to enhance individuals’ financial management behaviour. Keywords: Emergency Saving; Financial Capability; Financial Knowledge; Living within One's Means; Personal Finance.

The purpose of study is to measure the level of financial literacy of accounting students at the Universidad Veracruzana; campus Mocambo, considering that financial education is the knowledge that people have on financial issues in order to solve everyday problems regarding financial management. The variables analyzed include age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, learning styles and student’s perceptions on financial services, the way they take care of their money and their knowledge of five key financial issues. Three hypotheses were raised, therefore, in order to test H1 we performed a factorial analysis with an extracted principal component; to H1.a the statistical procedure of linear correlation of Pearson r and t test are applied, and to H2 a Z test is performed. Although the theory suggests that the level of higher education gives the student a better understanding of the financial issues, this research however, proves otherwise. In fact, the range of “excellent money management” is below 50%. The findings suggest that there is no a good level of financial literacy in the population studied. This fact is contrary to expectations, because the student who studies public accountant is expected to have financial knowledge in these subjects, all this, in considering the subjects which integrates the curriculum related to the field of finance. Therefore this finding should be an important indicator for the academic authorities of the Universidad Veracruzana for corrective actions in this respect.

Nowadays financial literacy is essential as in a society much of the financial responsibility has shifted from governments to the individual. The findings of earlier studies show that university students are not knowledgeable about personal finance and their financial skills needs improvement. This study analyzed the survey results of 536 university students to assess the financial literacy, the impact of educational and demo-graphical characteristics to the participants' financial literacy, and the students' financial opinions and choices. Results of regression analyze showed that statistically significant impact to the financial literacy had factors: academic discipline, level of education, gender, nationality, age and the choices to have a current account, a debit card, and investment services. Students studied in the Faculty of Civil Engineering compared to others, had higher knowledge in finance, especially female students. These results of study give the direction for future research and enable to enhance financial education.

Financial literacy and financial capacity of schoolchildren should be developed to meet the requirements of the rapidly developing society and increasingly complicated financial system of the Russian Federation. The authors focused on the financial education of schoolchildren who represent a special target group in financial relations. The main research methods were general scientific methods of cognition: systematization of theoretical and practical material, induction, deduction, comparative analysis, and synthesis. The authors defined the concepts of “financial literacy” and “financial capacity” and substantiated their interdependence using a synergistic approach. The authors considered school math course as a special tool for the formation of financial literacy and financial capacity of schoolchildren, explored the possibility of their development among Russian students in grades 7–9 in the course of algebra, stated the main problems, and formulated conclusions and recommendations.

Abstract After a strong focus on transition processes in Central East European countries (CEE), this topic has been displaced by more dramatic merger and reorganization processes or the recent financial crisis. This obscures the fact that we know almost nothing about the management competencies in these countries, which is an important building or stumbling block for future development. Therefore, we will examine the individual competencies of almost 300 top and middle managers in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia, and we will compare the different sets of competencies and interpret them according to the given economic situation in these countries

Let us briefly explain the content of the 10 chapters: Chapter 1 presents the general characteristics of the research period (1990 –1997). Chapter 2 explains the research object, sources and methods. Chapter 3 gives a survey of different definitions of the two basic notions -education and financial literacy. Chapter 4 describes the influence of the import of know -how on the field of financialeducation from the western countries to the Czech Republic and analyses the main barriers of the education transfer caused by the transition from the so-called socialism to capitalism. These four chapters (as a whole) characterise and analyse the generalmilieuof financial education transfer to the Czech Republic. They form approx.one third of the content of the book. The second third of the content of the book follows the institutional line of research. The role of the Ministry of Finance (Chapter 5),the Central Bank (Chapter 6) and the Prague Stock Exchange (Chapter 7) and the mutual interaction of the capital market formation and the process of financial education in the Czech Republic is analysed. Chapter 8 examines the role of media on the Czech capital market. The last third of the book (Chapter 9 and 10) deals with the role of two private companies in the brokers ́ education.

Basic scattering functions were used in a novel calculation of the turbidity ratios for particles having the relative refractive index m = 1.001, 1.005 (0.005) 1.315 and the size α = 0.05 (0.05) 6.00 (0.10) 15.00 (0.50) 70.00 (1.00) 100, where α = πL/λ, L is the diameter of the spherical particle, λ = Λ/μ1 is the wavelength of light in a medium with the refractive index μ1 and Λ is the wavelength of light in vacuo. The data are tabulated for the wavelength λ = 546.1/μw = 409.357 nm, where μw is the refractive index of water. A procedure has been suggested how to extend the applicability of Tables to various refractive indices of the medium and to various turbidity ratios τa/τb obtained with the individual pairs of wavelengths λa and λb. The selection of these pairs is bound to the sequence condition λa = λ0χa and λb = λ0χb, in which b-a = δ = 1, 2, 3; a = -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, ..., b = a + δ = -1, 0, 1, 2, ...; λ0 = λa=0 = 326.675 nm; χ = 546.1 : 435.8 = 1.2531 is the quotient of the given sequence.

We provide a framework of analysis for Chinese ways of learning that extends beyond the individual level. The theoretical framework focuses on Confucian principles of xiào (孝, filial piety), guăn (管, to govern), and dào dé guān (道德觀, virtues), which leads us to argue that directive guidance as a cultural practice nourishes Chinese-heritage children’s learning as early as in infancy. To illustrate how directive guidance occurs in action for infants, we present an empirical study that examined the interaction of mother-infant dyads in Taipei, Taiwan, when they played with a challenging toy. The dyads co-enacted directive guidance more frequently than their European-American counterparts in the USA – through hand holding, intervening, and collaboration – while infants actively participate in the practice. We discuss the early development of strengths for learning that is fostered through culturally meaningful practices recurrent in parent-infant interaction.

Values guide actions and judgements, form the basis of attitudinal and behavioral processes, and have an impact on leaders’ decision-making, contributing to more sustainable performance. Through a bibliometric study and content analysis, 2038 articles were selected from Scopus, from the period 1994–2021, presenting global research tendencies on the subject of values, public administration, and sustainability. The results indicate that Sustainability is the most productive journal, the main research category is in social sciences, the most productive institution is the University of Queensland, the location with the most publications and research collaborations is the USA, and the authors with the greatest number of articles are Chung, from Chung-Ang University; García-Sánchez, from the University of Salamanca; and Pérez, from the University of Cantabria. Analysis of keywords shows that the most relevant are “sustainability”, “CSR”, “sustainable development”, “innovation”, and “leadership”. Time analysis of keywords reveals a tendency for lines of research in the social and work area. The results also provide data about the framing of studies in sustainability pillars and the types of values referred to and indicate the main areas of public administration studied. Finally, a future research agenda is proposed.
