Abstract The master sintering curve (MSC) was developed for the densification description and prediction of W-Mo-Cu alloy sintered by lager current electric field sintering. W-Mo-Cu compacts were sintered at the temperature of 975°C, pressure of 30MPa, and heating rate of 25,75,125°C/s, respectively. The MSC of W-Mo-Cu alloy was successfully constructed with the calculated value Q = 110kJ/mol and experimental data (such as shrinkage data and sintering time and temperature) of the compact. The shrinkage response and the densification process of the compact were studied with the MSC. What's more, the densification of the alloy was verified and predicted by the MSC. The results show that the MSC is a promising strategy for predicting the densification evolution of ternary alloy during sintering.

This study aims to determine the physicochemical quality of seagrape (Caulerpa lentillifera) as a freshness label for products cultivated in different seasons. The applied post-harvest storage experiments compared between, within and without seawater that led to oxidative stress conditions. Water content, malondialdehyde (MDA) compound, total phenolic content (TPC), and chlorophyll content were observed at 0, 3, 6, and 9 days of storage. The storage without seawater showed sharper quality reductions by reaching 20–40% of water loss, 70–90% of MDA production, 15–25% of TPC reduction, and 40–60% of total chlorophyll degradation. The storage within seawater showed lower quality reductions due to the specific growth rates still reaching 5–10%. This study found that the greater the physicochemical quality, the slower the decomposition rates of the stored seagrape during storage. Therefore, the seagrapes’ obvious discoloration occurred earlier in winter, followed by summer and spring. Kinetics of chlorophyll degradation on seagrape in different seasons meet different order-reactions during storage. Furthermore, alternating current electric field (ACEF) treatment with 125 kV/m of intensity for 60 min can lower the spring seagrapes’ physicochemical quality by reaching 10–30% of inhibition, resulting in the shelf-life extension for up to 12 days of post-harvest storage.

AbstractThe multimode resonant cavity is the most common cavity. The material often shows on selective heating performance during the heating process due to the effect of microwave heating having a closely relationship with the electromagnetism parameters. This paper is based on finite difference time domain method (FDTD) to establish the electromagnetic-thermal model. The electromagnetic sensitivity property parameters of sodium chloride including relative dielectric constant, loss angle tangent and water content of sodium chloride is studied during the heating and drying process. The heating rate and the electric field distribution of sodium chloride, at the different water content, were simulated with the electromagnetic characteristic parameters changing. The results show that with the electromagnetic sensitivity property parameters varying, the electric field strength, heating rate and steady-state temperature of the heating material will all have a variety in the cavity. Some measures are proposed to improve the heating efficiency and ensure the stability of the microwave heating system in the industrial application.

The temperature-dependence of proton electric conductivity in hydrogen-bonded molecular systems with damping effect was studied. The time-dependent velocity of proton and its mobility are determined from the Hamiltonian of a model system. The calculated mobility of (3.57–3.76) × 10-6 m 2/ Vs for uniform ice is in agreement with the experimental value of (1 - 10) × 10-2 m 2/ Vs . When the temperature and damping effects of the medium are considered, the mobility is found to depend on the temperature for various electric field values in the system, i.e. the mobility increases initially and reaches a maximum at about 191 K, but decreases subsequently to a minimum at approximately 241 K, and increases again in the range of 150–270 K. This behavior agrees with experimental data of ice.

We present the experimental development and characterization of GaN ballistic diodes for THz operation. Fabricated devices have been described and gathered experimental data is discussed. The major problem addressed is the domination of the parasitic resistances which significantly reduce the accelerating electric field across the ballistic region (intrinsic layer).
