This study analyzed the effect of team activities to promote team creativity and explored team interaction from the perspective of personal creativity modes. Freshman engineering students participated in the experiment. Teams in experimental group had an exercise of team activity immediately following self-awareness activity for their creativity mode. After team activity, team performances in conceptual design task were evaluated using Creative Product Semantic Scale (CPSS) composed of novelty and resolution categories. The results indicated that team performances of experimental group were significantly higher in CPSS evaluation, specifically in resolution, than those of control group. Also, team interaction of a diverse team and a uniform team from experimental group were analyzed using Interaction Process Analysis. The team interaction analysis showed that team members in diverse team represented very different team interaction patterns among team members, while team members in uniformed team demonstrated very similar patterns. These findings confirm that self-awareness of personal creativity mode help to enhance team creativity and that team interaction reflects some patterns according to personal characteristics.

The purpose of this study is to analyze team interaction and team creativity performance for conceptual design activities of student design teams that are composed using personal creativity modes. Experimental group design teams conducted a conceptual design task after teamwork practice activity immediately following self-awareness activity for personal creativity modes. Their design results have been evaluated using novelty and resolution aspects of the Creative Product Semantic Scale. The result shows that the teams in experimental group acquired higher score than those in control group without teamwork practice activity. Also we conducted detailed team interaction analysis of protocol data using Interaction Process Analysis method for a diverse team composed of various creativity modes and a uniform team composed of the same creativity mode. The analysis result of team interaction shows that the interaction patterns of team members in diverse team were very different from individual to individual reflecting their personal creativity modes, while those of uniform team members were almost identical. These findings suggest that knowing team members’ personal creativity modes could improve team creativity and that personal creativity modes could affect the way design team interacts.

The problem of preventing and reducing the level of occupational morbidity among agricultural workers is of particular importance, since occupational diseases are the cause of high disability and mortality rates of the working-age population all over the world. As a research task, the authors made an attempt to identify the features of the interdependence of the components of self-awareness and conflicts in value orientations for the manifestation of the phenomenology of disorders with further designation of the targets of psychotherapy. An experimental psychological study which included 40 agricultural workers with occupational diseases of the peripheral nervous system (experimental group) and without diseases (control group) was carried out using the multilevel personality questionnaire «Adaptability», the self-attitude test questionnaire by V.V. Stolin and S.R. Panteleev, and Schwartz's methodology «Value orientations». As a result of the study, it was found that in the subjects of the experimental group, in contrast to healthy individuals, the hyposthenic type of response prevails, there is the average level of neuropsychic tension, there is no tendency to reactions of the impulsive type, and a high negative and statistically significant relationship between the indicator of conflict in values and the level of personal adaptive potential is identified. The results of the study indicate that among agricultural workers with occupational diseases of the peripheral nervous system, accentuations of the character of the «inhibited» circle prevail, there is an increased level of anxiety and low tolerance to unfavorable factors of professional activity. The dominant personal values at the level of convictions are personal success in accordance with social standards and enjoyment of life, and at the level of behavior — understanding and protecting the well-being of all people and nature, preserving and increasing the well-being of loved ones. With an increase in conflict in value orientations, the adaptive potential of the respondents decreases, and a decrease in the level of self-attitude entails a decrease in adaptation.

This paper is a slice of a big project exploring the transformative consciousness among college students. Drawn from Wolinsky’s (1993) notion and exemplars of quantum consciousness exercises, researchers of this study developed and validated eight modules named as the transformative consciousness exercises and established their effects on the intrapersonal and interpersonal relationship skills among college students. Using an experimental research methodology, particularly the randomized pretest- and posttest-control-group design (Fraenkel, Wallen, & Hyun, 2012), the researcher-made Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Relationship Skills Scale (IIRSS) was administered to the randomly selected 23 students in the experimental group and 21 students in the comparison group. No significant differences were found between the two groups prior to the intervention. For eight weeks, at a one-and-a-half-hour session per meeting, the experimental group underwent the transformative consciousness program while the control group underwent the self-awareness program. Results showed that there were significant differences found between the experimental and control group. Furthermore, the intrapersonal and interpersonal skills of students in the experimental group were higher than those who were in the comparison group; and such difference was significant. Thus, it could be construed that transformative consciousness exercises may have been instrumental in increasing the participants’ intrapersonal and interpersonal relationship skills. The use of these modules, for intervention and further research, is hereby recommended for those interested in transformative consciousness studies.

This research was conducted through two studies, the purposes of the first study were to assess tension and self-awareness levels among the tenth-grade male and female students in Qalqilia city in Palestine, and to examine the impact of gender on tension and self-awareness. To achieve these goals a descriptive method was used, the sample consisted of (158) male and (152) female students age 16 years old. They were stratified randomly selected. This study found tension appears to be a broad problem in Palestine among respondents, and it is chronically existent with a high level. On the other hand, this study proved that self-awareness among Palestinian adolescents is low. No significant differences in tension and self-awareness due to gender were found. The objective of study 2 was, to examine the effect of psychodrama on the levels of tension and self-awareness of tenth-grade male students in Qalqilia city using the two-matching group pretest-posttest design. The experimental group consisted of (10) students and they received a psychodrama group counseling program, in order to reduce tension and enhance self-awareness. While the control group received nothing. Based on the results psychodrama is an effective tool to treat tension and enhance self-awareness. It is suggested that for future studies to be from different grades and both gender with larger sample size. It is also recommended to assess tension and self-awareness in different regions in Palestine.

Continuous professional development refers to maintaining, enhancing, and broadening individuals’ knowledge, skills, and the personal qualities required in their professional lives. The present experimental study attempts to explore the way(s) that the Life Construction intervention: “Constructing my Future Purposeful Life” contributes to career counselors’ sustainable career development. Two groups of career counselors participating in a training program delivered by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens were involved, namely, an experimental group (N = 33) that received the intervention and a control group (N = 27) that did not receive any intervention. The effectiveness of the intervention was verified through qualitative and quantitative analysis, including the calculation of effect sizes, of the data obtained through the Future Career Autobiography, and the Greek version of the Life Project Reflexivity Scale. The results indicate that the Life Construction Intervention improved career counselors’ reflexivity and self-awareness, while, concurrently, the need for practical training in contemporary interventions to support their sustainable career development is highlighted. The main conclusion refers to the fact that the career counselor needs to construct his or her own Self as a sustainable project beforehand, in order to be able to support individuals in their own Self construction and promote their well-being.

Objective. To investigate the influence of silica exposure on the expression of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-β1), and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) in lung silicosis rat. Methods. Wistar rats were divided into an experimental group and a control group. In the experimental group, rats were exposed to silica by intratracheal instillation. In the control group, rats were exposed to physiological saline by intratracheal instillation. After 45 days, we compared the level of fibrosis and CTGF, TGF-β1, and PDGF in the lungs by immunohistochemistry or reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction between the two groups. Results. The results showed that the expression levels of CTGF, TGF-β1, and PDGF mRNA were significantly higher in the experimental group than those in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). The positive staining of CTGF, TGF-β1, and PDGF mRNA was found in the cytoplasm, especially in the silicotic nodules of the hyalinisation section and cell endochylema of the alveolar macrophages, type II pneumonocytes, and lung tracheal epithelium. There were significantly positive correlations between CTGF, TGF-β1, and PDGF expressions ( P < 0.05 ). A protein–protein interaction analysis showed interactions between TGF-β1, CTGF, and PDGF. Conclusions. TGF-β/CTGF signaling pathway plays an important role in silicosis. Silicon dioxide exposure can induce the expression of CTGF, TGF-β1, and PDGF.
