Since its discovery, the Kamil crater (Egypt) has been considered a natural laboratory for studying small-scale impact cratering. We report on a previously unknown shock-related phenomenon observed in impact melt masses from Kamil; that is, the shock-triggered formation of skeletal quartz aggregates from silica-rich fluids. These aggregates are unshocked and characterized by crystallographically oriented lamellar voids and rounded vesicles. The distribution of the aggregates can be correlated with former H2O- and impurity-rich heterogeneities in precursor quartz; i.e., fluid inclusions. The heterogeneities acted as hot spots for local melting. Due to the presence of H2O and the high impact pressure and temperature, the formation of a localized supercritical fluid is plausible. Below the upper critical end point of the SiO2–H2O system (temperature <1100 °C and pressure <1 GPa), SiO2 melt and H2O fluid become immiscible, leading to the rapid and complete crystallization of skeletal quartz.

AbstractWe report on the mineralogical and chemical properties of materials investigated by the lunar rover Yutu-2, which landed on the Von Kármán crater in the pre-Nectarian South Pole–Aitken (SPA) basin. Yutu-2 carried several scientific payloads, including the Visible and Near-infrared Imaging Spectrometer (VNIS), which is used for mineral identification, offering insights into lunar evolution. We used 86 valid VNIS data for 21 lunar days, with mineral abundance obtained using the Hapke radiative transfer model and sparse unmixing algorithm and chemical compositions empirically estimated. The mineralogical properties of the materials at the Chang’E-4 (CE-4) site referred to as norite/gabbro, based on findings of mineral abundance, indicate that they may be SPA impact melt components excavated by a surrounding impact crater. We find that CE-4 materials are dominated by plagioclase and pyroxene and feature little olivine, with 50 of 86 observations showing higher LCP than HCP in pyroxene. In view of the effects of space weathering, olivine content may be underestimated, with FeO and TiO2 content estimated using the maturity-corrected method. Estimates of chemical content are 7.42–18.82 wt% FeO and 1.48–2.1 wt% TiO2, with a low-medium Mg number (Mg # ~ 55). Olivine-rich materials are not present at the CE-4 landing site, based on the low-medium Mg #. Multi-origin materials at the CE-4 landing site were analyzed with regard to concentrations of FeO and TiO2 content, supporting our conclusion that the materials at CE-4 do not have a single source but rather are likely a mixture of SPA impact melt components excavated by surrounding impact crater and volcanic product ejecta.

Abstract Two impact melt samples from the Lappajärvi crater (Scandinavia) are highly enriched in siderophile elements, such as Ir, Re, and Os. This indicates the presence of a meteoritic component. The simultaneous enrichments of Ni, Co, Cr, and Se suggest a chondritic projectile. Because of the relatively large indigenous contributions to Ni, Co, and Cr, it is not possible to distinguish between a normal and a carbonaceous chondrite. The high concentrations of relatively volatile elements could point towards a volatile-rich projectile. The two melt samples have high Re/Ir ratios compared to chondritic ratios. Enrichment of Re relative to Ir is very unusual in terrestrial impact melts. Loss of Re, because of volatilisation under oxidizing conditions or by weathering is frequently observed. The high Re/Ir ratios and the high abundances of relatively volatile elements either indicate the presence of a volatile rich phase or they characterize a type of meteorite, which has not been sampled. Some lunar highland rocks have a pattern of meteoritic elements rather similar to that observed for the Lappajärvi meteorite. The Lappajärvi crater is, after Rocheehouart, the second European crater where a significant amount of meteoritic component has been found.A melt sample from the Lake St. Martin crater (Manitoba), did not show any enrichment in meteoritic elements.

This study aimed to identify the level of services provided by the business incubators and their impact on business success. The sample for the field study consisted of 30 businesses that benefited from business incubator services at Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDICO). Various techniques, such as descriptive and analytical methods, were utilized in the study to test the hypotheses. The results demonstrated that beneficiaries perceived business incubators’ support practices as high level and that there was a statistically significant impact of business incubators on business success where the networking support services dimension had the highest influence on business success, followed by infrastructure support services. As a result of the findings, the study has provided a set of recommendations.

Business Financial Analysis on Piggery (A Case Study of Piggery of UD Karang at Jagapati Village, Sub-District of Abiansemal, Badung)Pigs is one commodity of livestock meat producer. Pigs have qualities and abilitiesthat benefit namelyit hasfaster growth rate and also a higher number of piglets perbirth. Pork demand has improved in the area of Bali that can provide businessopportunities to UD Karang to develop a piggery by raising pigs to be fattening.Piggery business needs to do a financial analysis to determine the success of itsbusiness. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of a piggery interms of financial aspects and the obstacles being faced. This research was conductedon a piggery of UD. Karang located in the village of Jagapati, AbiansemalSubdistrict of Badung Regency. The analytical methods used were quantitative andqualitative methods. The study results and the conclusions showed that the piggery ofUD Karang is financially feasible with NPV value of Rp 452, 693. 850, thenet valueof B/C of 1.3 and the IRR of 74.62%. The obstacles faced by the piggery of UDKarang namely respiratory disease in swine livestock, price fluctuations, andenvironmental pollution. Suggestions given to UD Karang that it should work withthe Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health, add good quality feed soas to meet the nutritional needs of the animals, and the pig manure should befermentedto be utilized as biogas.
