Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 are reshaping the way organizations function and interact with the communities they serve. The massive penetration of computer and network applications forces organizations to digitalize their processes and provide innovative products, services, and business models. The education market is suffering changes as well, but universities seem slow to react. This paper proposes the application of an integrated digital transformation model to assess the maturity level that educational institutions have in their digital transformation processes and compares them to other industries. Particular considerations to address when using the model for higher-education institutions are discussed. Our results show that universities fall behind other sectors, probably due to a lack of effective leadership and changes in culture. This is complemented negatively by an insufficient degree of innovation and financial support.

Industry 4.0 is a promising concept that allows industries to meet customers’ demands with flexible and resilient processes, and highly personalised products. This concept is made up of different dimensions. For a long time, innovative digital technology has been thought of as the only dimension to succeed in digital transformation projects. Other dimensions have been identified such as organisation, strategy, and human resources as key while rolling out digital technology in factories. From these findings, researchers have designed industry 4.0 theoretical models and then built readiness models that allow for analysing the gap between the company initial situation and the theoretical model. Nevertheless, this purely deductive approach does not take into consideration a company’s background and context, and eventually favours one single digital transformation model. This article aims at analysing four actual digital transformation projects and demonstrating that the digital transformation’s success or failure depends on the combination of two variables related to a company’s background and context. This research is based on a double approach: deductive and inductive. First, a literature review has been carried out to define industry 4.0 concept and its main dimensions and digital transformation success factors, as well as barriers, have been investigated. Second, a qualitative survey has been designed to study in-depth four actual industry digital transformation projects, their genesis as well as their execution, to analyse the key variables in succeeding or failing. 46 semi-structured interviews were carried out with projects’ members; interviews have been analysed with thematic content analysis. Then, each digital transformation project has been modelled regarding the key variables and analysed with regards to succeeding or failing. Investigated projects have consolidated the models of digital transformation. Finally, nine digital transformation models have been identified. Industry practitioners could design their digital transformation project organisation and strategy according to the right model.

The present work aims to describe the digital transformation process in a service office in a Public Higher Education Institution in Mexico, for which an analysis of the literature review related to the topics of the fourth industrial revolution, digital transformation and public services. From the result of the analysis of the literature, the dimensions that enable digital transformation in public service organizations were identified. Later, in the case study, the main services that migrated to digital formats and that gave rise to the institution's virtual service window, the model under which it was developed, the impact generated on users are reported. The work was developed under a qualitative methodology that allowed identifying the dimensions that make up a digital transformation model in public sector institutions and whose viability should be corroborated through studies with greater depth and methodological rigor.

Purpose The majority of business-to-business companies are working on their digital transformation in sales. Despite enormous transformation efforts, the expected productivity gains are often missing in most companies. Based on empirical research, this paper aims to develop a new market-oriented transformation model. Management implications as well as future research directions are derived for a more focused digital transformation process in sales. Design/methodology/approach Within the exploratory research study, 90 key informants were interviewed to provide better insights in the context of digital transformation in sales. The accuracy of the research results was safeguarded by triangulation. Findings As this research paper will show, the reasons for the missing productivity gains caused by a limited knowledge about the main success factors of digital transformation as well as a lack of understanding of digital transformation as an evolving process. Originality/value Based on the empirical research, a new market-oriented transformation model is developed and management implications as well as future research directions are derived for a more focused digital transformation process in sales.

This paper is devoted to researching the major aspects of the digital transformation of the logistical field. Provided are the suggestions for constructing logistical process stakeholder interaction models. One of the major trends in digital logistics is platform solutions that will come to replace specialized digital solutions. Based on this trend, authors provide the 3-level model of stakeholder interaction on the logistical platform which could form the foundation of a future platform solution architecture. The creation of the logistical platform is the next step in the digital transformation of logistics which aims to create a unified logistical ecosystem.

E-learning is one of the non-traditional education forms and sustainable innovations that can spread knowledge across space, time, and borders worldwide. The article highlights the role, importance, and impact of digital transformation in the field of arts in general and particularly art pedagogical training in Vietnam today. In addition, the article mentions and analyzes the changes among universities, lecturers in terms of art teaching methods and art pedagogical training… during the process of digital transformation. Given the unique features of art pedagogy, a digital transformation model is proposed to shape and develop digital transformation strategies, which hopefully helps to digitize the learner’s experience with digital teaching and learning activities; as well as the environment and mode of operation and training facilities. The model may offer a digital solution to practical problems in art pedagogical training among related training institutions in Vietnam nowadays.

This paper considers the issues of the implementation of the digital transformation of industrial enterprises: the analysis of the existing model (AS IS) and planning the desired model (TO BE), depending on different conditions. The authors present the existing business models of digital transformation, reveal different approaches to classification, as well as their drawbacks from the point of view of practical application. In general, the models can be applied to diagnostics, but not to planning the desired state. The principle of classification of transformation models based on the life cycle of the market is proposed: monopoly, oligopoly, competition and monopsony. Firstly, the life-cycle approach allowed applying the author’s Dynamic Model of Changes in Corporate Strategies (Dynamics) to digital transformation. This model was proposed earlier for the classification of traditional business models. Secondly, the life-cycle approach allowed using the maturity models of the industry, strategies, product, processes, data etc. in order to build a planning algorithm for the desired business model. As a result of the lifecycle approach to the classification of business models, it was possible to develop an algorithm for diagnosing and planning the desired digital transformation model, taking into account the limitations of maturity levels and present it in the form of a Digital Dynamic Model of Corporate Strategy Changes (Dynamics).
