Aiming at the problem of the serious deformation of the mining roadways in the trapezoidal section of the coal mine, the method of combining theoretical analysis and field application is used to study the surrounding rock control method of the trapezoidal roadways. The conformal mapping function of the trapezoidal roadways is calculated by the theory of complex change, and then from the analytical solution of the tangential stress distributed in the surrounding rock of trapezoidal roadways which is under the influence of the bidirectional unequal pressure, homogeneous, isotropic, and elastic rock mass is obtained. Research studies show that the roof-stress distribution of the trapezoidal roadways is uniform and the confining pressure is small, while the two sidewalls and the floor are opposite. The stress distribution of the two sidewalls and the floor varies greatly, and the stress concentration factor is large. The top corner of the trapezoidal roadways is basically not affected by stress concentration, but the stress concentration coefficient at the bottom corner is relatively large, and reinforcement measures are required in the roadway support. Based on the aforementioned research results, the multisupport scheme of “bolting with wire mesh and anchor cable + W-type steel belt + joist steel shed support + anchor cable grouting” was proposed to the surrounding rock of trapezoidal roadways with large stress caused by mining influence, thus solving the actual mining problem.

This paper presents an elastic analytical solution to a circular tunnel with releasing slots at high stress areas near the hole by using a conformal mapping method and the complex variable theory. Compared to the original stress distribution around the circular hole, the releasing effect on elastic stresses is evaluated. After grooving slots, low stress area is generated where the high stress concentration is located. This is agreeable with what was predicted by the finite difference FLAC2D. Besides, displacements are obtained along the periphery of the released hole and are in accordance with those of FLAC2D. In addition to the intersection of the mapping contour, the influences of the sampling points distribution, series number in mapping function, and slot shape are discussed. It is inevitable that the mapping accuracies for the slot and the circle cannot be satisfied at the same time The mapping effect on the circle has to be considered primarily since the stress distribution around the circle is much more significant than the tunnel stability. The analytical solution can be available and fast method of estimating the releasing effect of the application on the tunnel without rock parameters.

In order to study the design and stability control of deep soft rock chamber group, taking ninth coal mine of Hebi Coal Power Co., Ltd. as the engineering background, The main problem in normal design is analyzed with the combined method of FLAC3D numerical simulation and field engineering test. and then puts forward targeted control measures and carries out field application. The results show that, compared with the conventional design, the intensive design can reduce the stress concentration degree and plastic zone range of the surrounding rock, as well as reduce the quantities. Compared with conventional supporting schemes, the surrounding rock deformation greatly reduces by more than 82% after adopting bolting and shotcreting with wire mesh + anchor cable + floor anchor supporting. Among them, the floor heave control has obvious effect, and the decreasing amplitude reaches more than 93%. The field application shows that the surrounding rock deformation of the main chamber is within the allowable range, and the chamber control effect is good. Therefore, the research results can provide reference for the design and control of similar chamber groups.

Under the assumptions of plane strain, vertical normal stress and shear stress distribution in surrounding rock of rectangular tunnels before and after installing anchor cable are studied. And according to the mechanics of materials, the formula of stress distribution in the roof is corrected. According to the corrected formula of the stress distribution, the dangerous points are found. And the dangerous point location does not change before and after installing anchor cable. It still locates in the middle and ends of roadway roof. Just the dangerous stress value decreases after installing anchor cable. There are the maximum tensile stress in the midpoint roof and the maximum shear stress on both ends of the roof.

The purpose of this paper is to solve the problem that deep and close-distance cavern and roadway group were easily affected by the adjacent chamber or roadway excavation disturbance and low stability and significant deformation of surrounding rock occurred. The stability and control technology of surrounding rock in the main shaft and auxiliary shaft system has been analyzed by the adjacent chamber and roadway group of −850 m level in Qujiang Mine, China, as an engineering background. Firstly, the numerical calculation of the excavation chamber was, respectively, carried out in different ways with the propagation theory of the excavation disturbance wave. The results show that the interaction of adjacent chamber excavation was more intense. When excavated at the same time, there is a large increase in the movement of the sides and the roof-floor of the chamber and roadway. Then, the mechanism of interaction between low-high stress and excavation disturbance was considered, the corresponding control principles were provided, and a set of critical technologies and equipment were designed according to the deformation characteristics of the large deformation soft surrounding rock. Finally, the comprehensive control method was put forward with the water pump house as an example, that is, anchor, metal net, grouting, combined anchor cable and large-diameter anchor cable. And the related support parameters were determined by the internal damage of the surrounding rock chamber. The numerical simulation results show that the surrounding rock deformation of the chamber and roadway reduced with the revised support program, which the expansion of the rock mass loose circle prevented effectively. The site test shows that the convergence rate of surrounding rock with the improved support was less than 0.2 mm/d, and the rock deformation of chamber and roadway suppressed significantly.

Sijiazhuang coal mine is taken as an example in this paper. Both the theoretic model and the numerical simulation are carried out to analyze the stress distribution regularity on the surrounding rock of stope face under different overlying strata combinations by using discrete element method. Under different combinations of the overlying strata, the results indicate that the regularity of stress distribution around stope face is roughly the same, i.e. the stress concentration of different degree appears in both ends, and the region of pressure relief exist above the stope face. Furthermore, destruction degree of the roof in stope face is different under various overlying strata combinations. On the eve of the first weighting, the different combinations present different phenomenon of concentration, especially the soft-hard-soft combination and hard-soft-hard combination.

This paper considers the 333 return airway of the Gaokeng Coal Mine to analyze the deformation characteristics and failure mechanism of the surrounding rock of the composite roof for a loose and weak coal roadway. The reasons for the large deformation are explored and the superiority of the prestressed truss and anchor rope is compared to ordinary anchor cables from the perspective of mechanics to propose a targeted coal roadway support method. Sinking of the composite roof in the coal roadway is accompanied with a release and transfer of the surrounding rock stress. The pressure of the composite roof transfers to the roadway sides and intensifies the fracture process of the coal body. As a result, the ability to support the composite roof is weakened, and it further bends and sinks to form a vicious cycle that repeats itself. Therefore, the support of the composite roof in the coal roadway should consider the roof, roadway sides, and floor as a single unit to achieve the support goal of reinforcing the roadway sides and roof. Based on the above analysis, a comprehensive control technology with a truss and anchor rope is proposed as the main body and a bolt + anchor cable + metal network as the auxiliary. This technology can improve the integral bearing capacity of the composite roof, strengthen the roadway side structures, and reinforce the roadway sides and roof. Numerical simulation and field application results show that the support scheme can effectively realize safe control of the composite roof in coal roadways.

Based on the geological conditions of 6# coal seam and 8# coal seam in Xieqiao Coal Mine, to determine reasonable entry layout of lower seam in multi-seam mining, alternate internal entry layout, alternate exterior entry layout and overlapping entry layout were put forward and simulated by FLAC3D. Then stress distribution and displacement characteristics of surrounding rock were analyzed in the three ways of entry layout, leading to the conclusion that alternate internal entry layout is a better choice for multi-seam mining, for which makes the entry located in stress reduce zone and reduces the influence of abutment pressure of upper coal seam mining to a certain extent,. And the mining practice of Xieqiao Coal Mine tested the results, which will offer a beneficial reference for entry layout with similar geological conditions in multi-seam mining.

The weak dynamic stiffness of thin plate is one of the important factors that limit the use of thin plate. Improving the dynamic stiffness of thin plate is one of the effective methods for the vibration control of thin plate. In this paper, the influence of pre-stress on the vibration characteristics of thin plate is studied. A vibration control method of thin plate based on pre-stress is proposed. The vibration differential equation of quadrate thin plate under pre-stressing is established. Using the Galerkin principle, the natural frequencies corresponding to the shape functions of the quadrate thin plates under pre-stressing in different distribution forms are obtained. By comparison, it is found that pre-stressing on the thin plate can change the dynamic stiffness of thin plate. In particular, tensile stress can increase the dynamic stiffness of thin plate while compressive stress can reduce the dynamic stiffness of the thin plate. The greater the pre-stress, the more obvious the effect. In the end, the requirements of the pre-stress distribution which can improve the dynamic stiffness of thin plate effectively are derived.

The seepage action of underground water accelerates the deformation of roadway surrounding rock in deep mines. Therefore, the study of creep characteristics of surrounding rock under seepage action is the basis for the stability control of roadway surrounding rock in deep water-rich areas. In this paper, a seepage-creep coupling test system for complete rock samples was established. Combined with a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) test system, the seepage-creep law of coal measures sandstone and the damage mechanism were revealed. The study results showed that the maximum creep deformation of sandstone under natural and saturation state decreased gradually with the increase of confining pressure, and the maximum creep deformation under saturation state was greater than the corresponding value under natural state when the confining pressure was same. When the confining pressure was constant, the creep deformation, the constant creep deformation rate and the accelerated creep deformation rate of sandstone increased rapidly with the increase of infiltration pressure. With the change of time, the change of permeability parameters went through three cycles; each cycle was divided into two stages, slow change stage and rapid change stage, and the rate of variation increased with the increase of the seepage pressure. Based on the macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of sandstone rupture, the connection between macroscopic and microscopic mechanism on sandstone rupture was established. The results in this paper can provide a theoretical basis for stability control of roadway surrounding rock in water-rich areas.
