<span>The insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) are widely used in various applications as they require low gate drive power and gate voltage. This paper proposes an active gain circuit to maintain voltage stability of series-connected IGBTs for high voltage applications. The novel gate driver circuit with closed-loops control amplifies the gate signal while restricting the IGBT emitter voltage below a predetermined level. With the proposed circuit, serial-connected IGBTs can replace high-voltage IGBTs (HV-IGBTs) for high-voltage applications through the active control of the gate signal time delay. Closed-loop controls function is to charged current to the gate to restrict the IGBT emitter voltage to a predetermined level. This paper also presents the experiment on the gate driver capability based on a series-connected IGBTs with three IGBTs and a snubber circuit. The experimental results show a voltage offset with active control with a wide variation in load and imbalance conditions. Lastly, the experimental results are validated with the simulation results, where the simulation results agree with the experimental results.</span>

This paper deals with simulation and implementation of interleaved boost converter. The low voltage DC is boosted to high voltage DC using an interleaved boost converter .The ripple in the output is reduced by using ILBC and Pi filter .This work proposes‘Pi’ filter at the output to reduce the ripple.ILBC with ‘C’ filter and ‘Pi’ filter is simulated and the results are presented with R load . The simulation results are compared with the experimental results.

The operational voltage or the voltage distribution along porcelain insulator string is affected by stray capacitances, which causes a non-uniform voltage distribution. The recital of insulator sometimes depends on the amount of insulator/string. In order to explain these activities and phenomena clearly in this research, an equivalent circuit that takes the insulator material properties and the stray capacitances is implemented in the TINA program package to analyze the voltage distribution along the insulator string with and without guard ring under power frequency voltage. Finally, the simulation results of voltage distribution have been compared with experimental results, which were obtained in the KKU High Voltage Research Laboratory. To investigate the voltage along across each (5, 6, 7) insulator/string in clean condition, the string efficiency has been measured by sphere gap method. From the simulation results, the voltage across (5, 6, 7 clean and contaminated insulator/string) with and without guard ring were simulated by the TINA program. From this simulation results, we found that the string efficiency of clean string insulator condition which the insulator consists of 5, 6, 7 insulator/string without guard ring equals 66.92, 58.45 and 53.71%, respectively. The string efficiency which the insulator consists of 5, 6, 7 insulator/string with guard ring equals 90.42, 87.03 and 78.35%, respectively. In the experiment, the sphere gap was used to measure the voltage along insulation string. In case of the clean string insulator condition, the string efficiency which the insulator consists of 5, 6, 7 insulator/string without guard ring equals 69.12, 62.67 and 57.04%, respectively. The string efficiency which the insulator consists of 5, 6, 7 insulator/string with guard ring equals 76.36, 66.69 and 59.76%, respectively.

10kV linked SVG module power supply from their own h-bridge power, supply is unstable. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new way to take power, using a combination of full-bridge push-pull circuit with isolation transformer to solve the logical drive power between the power module and the SVG device self-consistent problem. The paper detailed analysis of the working principle and characteristics of this new way to take power, and verified on prototype, present the experimental results.

<span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;">Multilevel converters tender advantages in terms of the output waveform quality due to the increased number of levels used in the output voltage modulation and have been widely accepted for high-power high-voltage applications.  This paper introduces topology in multilevel dc link inverter (MLDCLI), which can significantly reduce the switch count and improve the performance.<strong> </strong>The preferred topology provides a dc voltage with the shape of a staircase approximating the rectified shape of a commanded sinusoidal wave, to the bridge inverter, which in turn gives the required alternating waveform<strong>.</strong> This topology requires fewer components compared to traditional Multi level Inverters (MLI).Therefore, the overall cost and complexity are significantly reduced particularly for higher output voltage levels. A simulation describing the fiber movement during the condensation was conducted, and the effect of the condensation in the carding machine was studied. The simulation results showed that the condensation has the blending and the evening effect on the condensed sliver, which can be explained by the fiber rearrangement. Moreover, the increasing web width and the decreasing condensing length can result in a more uniform sliver. Further, the evening effect of the web width on the web was verified by experiments. The simulation results were in general agreement with the experimental results.

Compared with a silicon MOSFET device, the SiC MOSFET has many benefits, such as higher breakdown voltage, faster action speed and better thermal conductivity. These advantages enable the SiC MOSFET to operate at higher switching frequencies, while, as the switching frequency increases, the turn-on loss accounts for most of the loss. This characteristic severely limits the applications of the SiC MOSFET at higher switching frequencies. Accordingly, an SRD-type drive circuit for a SiC MOSFET is proposed in this paper. The proposed SRD-type drive circuit can suppress the turn-on oscillation of a non-Kelvin packaged SiC MOSFET to ensure that the SiC MOSFET can work at a faster turn-on speed with a lower turn-on loss. In this paper, the basic principle of the proposed SRD-type drive circuit is analyzed, and a double pulse platform is established. For the purpose of proof-testing the performance of the presented SRD-type drive circuit, comparisons and experimental verifications between the traditional gate driver and the proposed SRD-type drive circuit were conducted. Our experimental results finally demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed SRD-type drive circuit.

This paper proposes a highly simplified optical voltage sensor by using a piezoelectric bimorph and a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) that can be used for high voltage applications with a relatively good accuracy and stability. In this work the theoretical framework for the whole opto-mechanical operation of the optical sensor is detailed and compared to experimental results. In the analysis, a correction term to the electric field is derived to account for the linear strain distribution across the piezoelectric layer improving the designing equations and giving more criteria for future developments. Finally, some experimental results from a laboratory scale optical-based high voltage sensing setup are discussed, and shown to be in excellent agreement with theoretical expected behavior for different voltage magnitudes.

This paper proposes a system in package (SiP) for ultrasonic ranging composed of a 4 × 8 matrix of piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducers (PMUT) and an interface integrated circuit (IC). The PMUT matrix is fabricated using the PiezoMUMPS process and the IC is implemented in the AMS 0.35 µm technology. Simulation results for the PMUT are compared to the measurement results, and an equivalent circuit has been derived to allow a better approximation of the load of the PMUT on the IC. The control circuit is composed of a high-voltage pulser to drive the PMUT for transmission and of a transimpedance amplifier to amplify the received echo. The working frequency of the system is 1.5 MHz.

Four types of Super Typhoon drip emitter with trapezoidal channel were selected out for the investigation of the flow field of the channel, and the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) method was applied to simulate the micro-field inside the channel. The simulation results showed that the emitter discharge of different turbulent model is 4%-14% bigger than that of the experimental results, the average discharge deviation of κ-ω and RSM model is 5, 4.5 respectively, but the solving efficiency of the κ-ω model is obviously higher than that of the RSM model.
