End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is one of the public health problems in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the clinical condition of premorbid and the incidence of ESRD. The study design is a case-control. The number of volunteers involved in this study was 100 patients. The cases were ESRD patients who were determined by the criteria of Pernefri and the controls were patients from the same hospital who were not ESRD by the requirements of ESRD Pernefri. Inclusion criteria of the study sample were ESRD sufferers need routine hemodialysis and doctor's diagnosis supported by laboratory data, 15-75 years old and willing to fill out inform consent. Exclusion criteria for the study sample were patients with congenital kidney disease, Have a history of kidney transplants, and mental disorder. We collected demographic data, and patient’s clinical and drug history from medical records. Chi-square analysis with 2x2 tables and the Fisher's exact test were used to determine the relationship of clinical conditions and history of disease with the incidence of ESRD. The results showed that anemia, hyperglycemia, and hypertriglyceridemia were related to the prevalence of ESRD. History of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, and family history of ESRD are associated with an increased incidence of ESRD.

Abstract BACKGROUND: Prader–Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare, genetic, neurodevelopmental syndrome associated with hyperphagia and early onset obesity, growth and sex hormone insufficiencies, mild-to-moderate intellectual disability, and behavioral challenges such as compulsivity, anxiety, skin picking, social skills deficits and temper outbursts. Given high rates of psychiatric comorbidity and potential risk factors for suicide in PWS, this study sought a first estimate of the prevalence of suicidal ideation (SI) and attempts (SA) in the PWS population and any characteristics associated with suicidality in this population. METHODS: Using the Global Prader-Willi Syndrome Registry, we included all participants who had answered a question about SI. We examined the most recent data from the surveys about social, economic, and demographic factors, genetic subtype, and psychiatric symptoms and treatments. A chi-square analysis was used to compare registry participants who reported SI to those without reported SI. RESULTS: From 750 included survey respondents, 94 (12.5%) endorsed some history of SI. Of these, 25 (26.6%) also reported a history of SA, with an average age of 16.25 years at their first attempt. Those with a history of SI were predominantly male and adult age, and had higher rates of aggression and psychiatric comorbidities, therapies, and medications. CONCLUSIONS: This study indicates that the rate of SI and SA in PWS is comparable to the general population, and that suicide attempts in PWS typically begin in middle-teenage years. Despite unique challenges, individuals with PWS and their caregivers should be included in screens and psychoeducation for suicide and mental health concerns.

In the chi square analysis of cross-tabulated variables, the problem of low cell counts is usually solved by combining categories, at the cost of a loss of information, or by using larger samples, at added financial cost. Use of a chi square statistic based on an extension of the Fisher Exact Test can provide a third, less costly, alternative.

Background: Preeclampsia can threaten the health of the mother and fetus during pregnancy and childbirth, besides that it also increases the risk of long-term complications and has the potential to cause death. The incidence of preeclampsia at the RSUD Engku Haji Daud Tanjung Uban showed an increase in the last three years, namely the occurrence from 2017 as many as 23 cases to 56 cases in 2019. The condition of preeclampsia can worsen quickly and without warning, for that, it must be detected and managed appropriately. This study aimed to identify the association of obesity, multiple pregnancies, and previous history of preeclampsia with the incidence of preeclampsia in maternity women. Methods: This study uses a case-control study design. Performed on women giving birth in the period January – December 2019, consisting of 56 cases and 112 controls. Maternal women with preeclampsia were cases and women who were not diagnosed with preeclampsia were controls. The data was obtained from the respondents' medical records, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test or Fisher's Exact test with a value of = 0,05. Results: Obesity was associated with an increased risk of preeclampsia (OR= 4,746, 95% CI 2,381-9,460; P=0,000). Multiple pregnancies were associated with a significantly increased risk of preeclampsia (OR=15,857, 95% CI 1,899-132,384; P=0,002). Likewise, a previous history of preeclampsia was associated with a markedly increased risk of preeclampsia (OR=99,000, 95% CI 22,057-444,343; P=0,000). Conclusion: Based on these data, it was found that obesity, multiple pregnancies, and previous history of preeclampsia were significant risk factors for the occurrence of preeclampsia. It is important to identify risk factors for preeclampsia early, so that appropriate management can be carried out, to prevent complications.

Objective: To evaluate the occurrence of nonsyndromic cleft lip and/or palate (NSCL/P) in families of patients with prostate cancer (PC).Study design: We conducted a case-control study involving a total of 748 individuals, 280 of which had PC, and 468 were free-cancer healthy individuals. The patients answered a questionnaire with basic demographic information and family history of NSCL/P in first-degree relatives. The information collected was stored in a database and analyzed by using the statistical program SPSS® 24.0 for Windows (Chicago, IL, USA). In order to determine the association with NSCL/P, chi-square and Fisher’s exact test and odds ratio (OR) with its 95% confidence interval (95% CI) for risk magnitude assessment. Values with p<0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: Of total patients with PC, 2 had a positive history of NSCL/P. In the control group, 7 patients reported family history of NSCL/P (1df chi-square, p=0.34; Fisher´s exact test, p=0.49). The average age of the cases diagnosed with PC was 71.35±7.70 years, and control group was 64.42±9.67 years. Conclusion: Despite the limited population, the frequency of NSCL/P was not significantly increased in the first-degree relatives of patients with PC. Studies with larger samples and molecular analyses are needed to better understand the possible relationships in the etiology of cancer and NSCL/P.

ABSTRACT The current history of breast milk in Indonesia was quite alarming. The lack of exclusive breastfeeding was influenced by several factors, namely mother’s ignorance about the importance of breastfeeding, how to breastfeed properly, and the marketing of formula milk. The pattern of care in the first year of life was very important for the development of children. Poor toddler pattern in Indonesia was one of them shown by the low support of mother in monitoring growth and development of children under five. This study aimed to analyze association of breastfeeding history and parenting mother to the incidence of malnutrition and was conducted in Wongsorejo, Banyuwangi, East java. This study used the quantitative case-control design. Dependent variable in this study was malnutrition and independent variable were history of breastfeeding and parenting mother. The number of samples were 174 under five children taken by a Fixed Disease Sampling. The data was gained through in-depth interview and observation.History of Breast Feeding and Parenting Mother was taken by interview and used a quesstionarry. Bivariate analysis used chi-square analysis and multivariate analysis used binarry regression. Most of the breastfeeding history among under five children was exclusive breastfeeding with case (83.9%) and control (97.7%). Correlation analysis showed that history brestfeeding (OR=0.123; p<0.05), feeding practices of parenting mother (p<0.05) and health parenting mother (p<0.05) were related positively to malnutrition. There is a relationship of breastfeeding history and parenting mother to malnutrition among under five children. Keywords: Family’s Economic Level; Food Intake; mild psychomotor Development; Nutritional Status; Toddlers.

The media and consumer research groups have been keeping the Millennials in spotlight for many years now; perhaps it is time to turn some of the attention on Gen Z, which began its foray into mainstream consumption. This exploratory study examines the shopping orientation of Gen Z online shoppers using the generational cohort theory (GCT) as a framework and provides insights to e-retailers to understand how this generation approaches the online shopping. The penetration of Internet and accelerated growth of online shopping have enthused the e-retailers to offer a wide range of goods at greater efficiency than the traditional players. By cluster analysis (K-means) of nine online shopping orientation factors (two were eliminated prior due to low factor loading scores), four segments were identified: (a) ‘Economic-quality seekers’, (b) ‘Convenience shoppers’, (c) ‘Deal hunting-convenience seekers’ and (d) ‘Brand and quality conscious shoppers’, and the study profiled each segment based on the demographic data through chi-square analysis. Finally, implications for online retailers and marketing practitioners are enumerated towards the end of the article.
