In Indonesia, a country with a Muslim majority, Pentecostal / Charismatic churches are growing in urban contexts. Young people especially are attracted by the living worship of the Pentecostal / Charismatic churches, organised very professionally with an integration of multimedia, music, decor and lighting. The pop and rock music is most attractive, in combination with the sermons of the pastors which are simple and near to the daily life experiences, showing how Jesus is near to everybody, giving comfort, forgiveness, healing, direction and even material prosperity and happiness. Young people, coming from the countryside to big cities appreciate Pentecostal / Charismatic churches as a sign of modernity. As regards their relations with Islam, some Muslims do not like the worship of Pentecostal / Charismatic churches in big shopping malls. Other Muslims benefit from the social activities of Pentecostal / Charismatic churches, on condition that they are not forced to become Christians. Most of the relations are indifferent, as long as they do not disturb each other.

In postmodern times of emphasized fluidification, individualism and cosmopolitanism, mobility becomes self-evident and naturalized, yet socially desirable and anticipated. Therefore it is valuable to use ethnography to look at individual experiences. They are young, educated, and mobile, pursuing their dreams and goals while living in big cities: Poles and other (not only) European citizens who maintain transnational long-distance relationships create perfectly suitable representatives of the category of ‘privileged mobility’. This article is based on ethnographic fieldwork I conducted in 2016–2018, and it employs an auto-ethnographic perspective in order to examine the notion of privilege (Amit 2007), with its borders and limitations, through the analytical lens of mobility. The article puts forward the perspective of my research participants and thus provides a detailed portrait of the researched group, in order to show how mobility is rooted in their everyday lives and how privileged they really are. I argue that mobility, defined as one of the most stratifying factors (Bourdieu 1984), can be applied as a mirror that reflects position in the social strata. In this specific ethnographic context, spatial mobility can be seen as a useful tool, which exposes social and individual dimensions of being privileged while living in transnational long-distance relationships

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to establish mall attractiveness factors in Kuwait, examine the relationship between mall dimensions and mall patronage and explore the impact of mall size and distance on mall patronage. Design/methodology/approach Data from 190 shopping mall visitors were analyzed using Stata software. Factor analysis was used to identify the mall attraction factors, and regression models were run to analyze their relationships with people’s frequency of visits to shopping malls and the amount of time spent per visit. Findings The results unearth five important factors, namely, performance of buying, entertainment, social activities, physical atmosphere and location. Analysis reveals that the performance of buying and social activities factors had a significant impact on the frequency of visits, while the amount of time spent per visit was significantly affected only by the social activities factor. Furthermore, mall size is more important than distance to the mall. Finally, gender differences in shoppers’ mall preferences and behaviors were reported. Practical implications On the practical level, shopping mall developers and managers can use the attraction scale to develop attractive malls and effective marketing strategies. Researchers can use findings to confirm the factors extracted in the study and for further research on the topic. Originality/value This study extends theories on consumers’ preferences and behaviors. It provides empirical evidence about the impact of attractive mall dimensions on shoppers’ patronage in Kuwait, an understudied context.

The purpose of this article is to analyse educational activities undertaken in the area ofsocial entrepreneurship. The main conclusions are that respondents do not know about social entrepreneurship and social initiatives are undertaken only to a minimal extent; education for social entrepreneurship is at an unacceptable level. Thus, education in economics in Poland should be enriched with social economy and social entrepreneurship. An essential element that can positively affect the development of social entrepreneurship is the support of social activities undertaken by young people within a broader debate about the social dimension of our lives.

However, the result of the literacy workshop needs to be examined, not only to find out the success indicator of the workshop, but also to understand the narration presented in young peoples‘ works. It is necessary to get the idea of what the young people’s concern and thought. This paper discusses the writings as the products of literacy workshop held at Trenggalek, East Java, which was attended by young people as participants. The workshop results in 12 writings, consisting of two short stories, and 10 essays.  The questions raised in this paper are; how is the discourse of daily life represented in the writings of the literacy workshop participants? What are the social and cultural factors affecting the writers in constructing the discourse? This paper argues that young people’s concern reflects the current social cultural issues that matters in our life. The article reveals the change in the behavior of young people from post-Soviet states in Moscow under the influence of the social and economic impact on the everyday life of the coronavirus, it is substantiated that the improvement in the quality of their daily life is due to how successfully the Governments of their countries and the EAEU as a whole will interact in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic. We conducted a questionnaire survey of young citizens belonging to the representatives of the "millennials" and "post-millennials" generation (18-38 years old), the EAEU member states and candidates for joining the EAEU (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Moldova, Tajikistan), living, studying or working in Moscow. In April-June 2020, 3,065 people were interviewed (Armenia-417 people, Belarus-463 people, Kazakhstan-406 people, Kyrgyzstan — 399 people, Moldova — 405 people, Russia — 588 people, Tajikistan — 387 people). Only from 21 to 32% of respondents from different countries noted that nothing has changed in their lives. The survey showed that the new situation causes a feeling of fear. The understanding that a person himself cannot eliminate the negative impact of the pandemic leads to the fact that about a fifth of the respondents feel anxiety and irritation, 6.5% — fear, despair and hopelessness. It should be noted that after all, 4 out of 10 respondents maintain a good, optimistic (23.7%) and normal, even (44.0%) mood. The EAEU countries intend to continue working towards a joint response to the threat of coronavirus infection. It should be borne in mind that the nature of such interaction will have certain limits associated with the current level of integration. However, the States of the region are aware that the coronavirus crisis and the "Great Quarantine" may turn out to be a historical fork in the opportunities for the real sector of the economy of the Union member states and requires strengthening unity.

Individual piety is a personal achievement in the rituals of human worship. However, its manifestations can affected the social piety of the worshipper, such as tolerance towards people of other religions, caring for the environment, and loving the country. 'Terang Jakarta' and 'Shift Bandung' communities are representations of the hijrah movement in Indonesia, which seeks to realize social piety among its members. The Middle-class youths in various big cities across the country, who experienced a dark life, are active actors of this Hijrah community. This paper aims to analyze the meaning of social piety for the members of both communities, as a part of religious cosmopolitanism and the strengthening of the Hijrah movements in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative approach and Herbert Mead's Symbolic Interactionism theory. The research found that the formation of the meaning of social piety for the members of both communities was carried out by the administrators through the same pattern, namely emphasizing the redefinition of social piety through the distribution of Islamic values that resulted from collective study among them. This process is implemented through massive dissemination of ideas on social media and through a layered regeneration system. The manifestation of social piety is embodied in the understanding of community members about social guidelines, such as love for the country, tolerance, and being involved in social activities in society.

Privatized public spaces like modern shopping malls apply various spatial regulations to its mall goers that ultimately, according to scholars of critical tradition, undermines the “social” in socialization during human interactions. This recurring idea is prevalent and proven in a number of developed countries while, on the other hand, research on the same outcome in developing countries such as the Philippines is lacking. Based on local experiences, there is an  indication of the possibility of an active associational life within the regulated spaces of the Philippine private shopping mall. This paper tries to  determine the circumstances under which spatial governmentality sustains social interaction.   Using Robert Yin’s case study method, it  delves into the spatial practice of mall users in three shopping malls in the city of Manila. Data are gathered from field observations and interviews with the managers and security officers of the three malls. Purposive mall users can evade the disciplinary, deterrence, and exclusionary techniques of the shopping mall and thus pursue their own social activities and interests in the presence of three  facilitators: persons, locales and occasions.  The cases involved in this study reveal that efforts to control social activities in mall premises can also generate unintended outcomes, that is, activate social activities.
