The object of this paper is Feng Weimin’s shortzajuplay calledSeng Ni Gong Fan. The first part of the article deals with the more visible differences between Feng’s play and the traditional, canonicalzaju, and here the writer tries to show how Feng broke away from the tradition while at the same time preserving some of its elements. After these macro-level observations, the second part deals more in detail with the language that Feng used in order to give life to his characters, and how he modifies well-known sayings, images, and tropes to obtain new, surprising effects. The third part deals directly with the choice of characters, the motivation behind their action and how their role changes as the plot unravels. Through a detailed analysis centred on the characters’ lines and on the already existing commentaries, this article tries to bring to light the underlying intention of the text, together with its ideological focal points, and ultimately explains the often downplayed influence that Feng’szajuhad on other genres of Ming theatre.

The article represents a critical re-evaluation of the contribution to psychiatry and psychotherapy made by Heidegger. The author gives a detailed analysis of “Zollikon Seminars”, placing emphasis on Heideggerian concept of the human being in the first part of the article. According to Heidegger, the human being is not just present in the world, but he is present in the world along with other beings, he exists in indissociability with things, with the world. The existence of the human being, but not its interpretation, which reduces the concept of the human being to thinking, consciousness or instinct, represents the starting point of his philosophical inquiry. But that, which ever-already is, needs to be given an opportunity to show itself. Therefore, the matter of the causal explanation, given with a view to psychotherapy became one of the focal points for “Zollikon Seminars”. The second part of the article is devoted to critique of Freud, delivered by Heidegger, which clarified Heidegger’s approach to the existence of the human being through the striking antithesis of causality and motivation and critique of the causal explanation. The third part of the article comprises a reference to psychopathology and the practice of psychiatry, which, according to our reckoning, Heidegger has elided in his reflections. It is fair to assume that, if Heidegger gave consideration to the uniqueness of the psychopathology practice, which its phenomena appear in, with regard to the causal explanation, his intuition on this subject, concerning a radical distinction between the realm of freedom and the realm of causality, could take a different direction. Having examined the critique, delivered by him, more intently, we are able to say that Heidegger, despite his innovative approach, still, did not take into consideration a number of problems, being present in the practice of psychotherapy and psychiatry. Nevertheless, the importance of Heideggerian approach resides primarily in a fact that Heidegger, for his part, insisted on the “productive meeting” of philosophers and psychiatrists, meant to amend understanding of the practice of psychiatry. An opportunity to combine the causal and the hermeneutic approaches in psychiatry was not considered by Heidegger, although, it seems to us, it is exactly the practice of psychiatry, which the “meeting” of the causal theory and philosophy can become really potentially productive and “stimulating” in.

In 1980 work began on one of the most intensive and comprehensive marine research and development projects—the German Ship of the Future. The main task was the reduction of the operational costs of a vessel. After five years of work the project was successfully finished with the maiden voyage of the first SdZ prototype ship. The paper describes first the R&D project itself. The organizational structure, the financial background and some examples of development topics are explained. The second part deals with the conversion of the outcomes of the R&D project into the reality of a containership. The third part gives, by example of some focal points of the newly developed ship service technique, a broad description of the HDW-SdZ prototype ships and their economy. A short outlook to further developments concludes the paper.

Introduction: Epidemiological comprehension of the COVID-19 situation in India can be of great help in early prediction of any such indications in other countries and possibilities of the third wave in India as well. It is essential to understand the impact of variant strains in the perspective of the rise in daily cases during the second wave – Whether the rise in cases witnessed is due to the reinfections or the surge is dominated by emergence of mutants/variants and reasons for the same. Overall objective of this study is to predict early epidemiological indicators which can potentially lead to COVID-19 third wave in India. Methodology: We analyzed both the first and second waves of COVID-19 in India and using the data of India’s SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequencing, we segregated the impact of the Older Variant (OV) and the other major variants (VOI / VOC).  Applying Kermack–McKendrick SIR model to the segregated data progression of the epidemic in India was plotted in the form of proportion of people infected. An equation to explain herd immunity thresholds was generated and further analyzed to predict the possibilities of the third wave. Results: Considerable difference in ate of progression of the first and second wave was seen. The study also ascertains that the rate of infection spread is higher in Delta variant and is expected to have a higher threshold (>2 times) for herd immunity as compared to the OV. Conclusion: Likelihood of the occurrence of the third wave seems unlikely based on the current analysis of the situation, however the possibilities cannot be ruled out. Understanding the epidemiological details of the first and second wave helped in understanding the focal points responsible for the surge in cases during the second wave and has given further insight into the future.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the functions of the zero name of proper characters in V. V. Nabokov's short prose. The factors are highlighted on the basis of which an attempt can be made to classify zero names in Nabokov's texts. The first factor is the grammatical person from whom the story is told. Particular cases related to narration from the first and third person are analyzed. The second factor is who in the text is the bearer of the zero name: the main character or the minor one? The authors pay special attention to antonomazia as a way of replacing a proper name with a null name. In the course of the study, it turns out that antonomazia can be used as a means of characterizing a character, as well as a reference not to a specific image, but to a certain class. The third factor is the possible taboo of the name as a technique. In the course of the research, two types of tabooing of a proper name are distinguished: religious and sociopsychological. The second part of the article analyzes V. V. Nabokov's story «The Razor» as an example of a text, on the basis of which one can prove the assertion about the polyfunctionality of a null name. The nomination of each character is studied in detail. The authors conclude that the opposition of full and null names plays a key role in building conflict in the plot. Moreover, the opposition of different types of nominations is a technique that determines the structure of the text, its semantic and associative levels. Based on a review of a number of Nabokov's texts and a detailed analysis of «The Razor» story, eleven functions of the zero name of V. V. Nabokov's own characters are formulated.

The authors report a case of adenovirus- induced enlargement of the parotid gland involving a patient infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Physical examination revealed good general condition, no fever and bilateral enlargement of the parotid region, which was of increased consistency and slightly tender to palpation. Histological examination of the parotid gland demonstrated a slight periductal lymphomononuclear inflammatory infiltrate with the presence of focal points of necrosis. Tests to determine the presence of fungi and alcohol-acid resistent bacilli were negative. Immunohistochemistry for cytomegalovirus, heipes simplex, HIV p24 antigen and adenovirus showed positivity only for adenovirus in the epithelial nuclei of numerous gland ducts. Tins is the third case of this type reported in the literature, indicating the importance of including adenovirus in the differential diagnosis of this condition.

The aim of this article is to present the basis of the legal order in force in the Ger¬man Empire colonial areas. The first two parts of the article outline the international conditions for the development of German colonies, and the legal basis of their establishment. The third part discusses the legal status they had in the German legal order. Here the author thoroughly analyses the legal solutions employed for the states of emergency. The fourth part presents the legal issues concerning the loss of colonies. The article includes the analysis of the provisions of the German Empire Constitution of 1871, which were applied when the colonial areas were formed. The paper also discusses other legal acts. Furthermore, the emperor’s orders for declaring the states of emergency were part of the detailed analysis. The paper also explored the attainment of German doctrine, which studied the particular legal issues in depth.

Extensive secularization is frequently held to be a necessary condition for political modernity. The author argues that the relationship between religion and the modern state is considerably more complex than this general proposition suggests. It is necessary to specify particular ideological models of the modern state, since these differ significantly from one another; and it is necessary to specify particular religions in their contemporary manifestations, since these also differ in important ways. A detailed analysis of this type suggests that there is no general incompatibility between the main religions of the third world and widely shared, nonideological features of political modernity. Specific religions are shown to be incompatible with some specific forms of the modern state, while presenting no significant obstacle to other models of political modernity.

I want to concentrate on three broad themes in responding to the papers by Arlt and Collins. The first one is about archives and collecting and what I call the dilemmas of discography. Connected to these dilemmas is the question of the place of popular music within academia and the implications thereof for the distribution of funds. The second one is more concerned with concepts and ideas. And the third one relates to the position of Christianity in the African cultures and history we study and with its position in our academic field. Starting with the first theme, I want to direct our attention to the UTC record collection. For the study of popular African music the UTC series of over 700 shellac discs is of immense importance with regard to discography and content. For anyone who has done any detailed analysis of discographic research in African music, the existence of one complete set, as it might be the case with the UTC recordings, is the ideal. Such a complete set would be a resource without precedent. In the case of most record companies or series, we do not know how many records were edited and published. Lists or catalogs rarely exist and, if they do, they may cover only a particular period. Far too often we are left to speculate. If, for example, we come across a record that carries the number 104, does it mean, this is the 104th record, or is it number 4 of a series labeled with three digits? Is record number 104 the last out of these four records, or will hundreds follow? There is no obvious rationality in numbering records. A series may begin with 101 and end with 104, but it may continue with another label color and a letter added such as B101. Sometimes a complete set—or only a selection of titles—is taken over by another company and this may be recognizable by a certain letter preceding the numbers, for instance, the letter “J” for Jeronimides, the Greek owners of the NGOMA label in Léopoldville.

In this second paper of the series, the details are given of the calculation of the bare activity of the meron pairs described in the first paper. The instanton limit is computed and found to be consistent with the discussion presented in the first paper. The bulk of the calculation for the regime of physical interest is performed using one set of constraints. An outline is given of one possible treatment of an instability in the calculation in part of this regime. A detailed analysis of this instability, a more detailed consideration of other constraint systems, and some further numerical work are left for the third paper.
