Further Remarks on the Appellativisation of the Given Name JanuszThe appellativisation of a given name, especially when related to its stigmatisation, is not frequent in Polish. All the more amazing is the rapid career of the name Janusz as an appellative. The phenomenon was first apparent in such phrases as janusze plaży or janusze polskiej gospodarki, used on the Internet and in the print media in the early 2010s, with a clear peak of the popularity of this type of phraseology observed in 2015. The names of Janusz’s wife Grażyna or of his son Seba (Sebastian) have not yet been appellativised, but they also create an image of “typical Poles”, overusing beach windscreens, wearing socks with sandals, stealing pencils from Ikea or trying to impress their neighbours at all costs. Based on an analysis of corpus-type data, this article attempts to explain why this name has become a symbol of the shameful traits of Poles, what associations it evokes, and to what degree it has been subject to appellativisation. W artykule – w oparciu o analizę danych o charakterze korpusowym – podjęta zostanie próba wyjaśnienia, dlaczego akurat to imię stało się symbolem wstydliwych cech Polaków, jakie budzi skojarzenia i w jakim stopniu uległo apelatywizacji.

Web surveys are very popular in the Internet space. Web surveys are widely incorporated for gathering customer opinion about Internet services, for sociological and psychological research, and as part of the knowledge testing systems in electronic learning. When conducting web surveys, one of the issues to consider is the respondents’ authenticity throughout the entire survey process. We took 20,000 responses to an online questionnaire as experimental data. The survey took about 45 min on average. We did not take into account the given answers; we only considered the response time to the first question on each page of the survey interface, that is, only the users’ reaction time was taken into account. Data analysis showed that respondents get used to the interface elements and want to finish a long survey as soon as possible, which leads to quicker reactions. Based on the data, we built two neural network models that identify the records in which the respondent’s authenticity was violated or the respondent acted as a random clicker. The amount of data allows us to conclude that the identified dependencies are widely applicable.

Digital media is expected to promote political participation in government. Around the world, from the United States to Europe, governments have been implementing e-government (use of of the Internet to make bureaucracy more efficient) and promising e-democracy (increased political participation by citizens). Does digital media enable citizens to participate more easily in government, or can authoritarian governments interfere with citizens' ability to speak freely and obtain information? This study of digital media in Russia will show that while digital media can be used by Russian citizens to gain information and express opinions, Kremlin ownership of print media, along with censorship laws and Internet surveillance, can stifle the growth of digital democracy. Though digital media appears to hold promise for increasing citizen participation, this study will show that greater consideration needs to be given to the power of authoritarian governments to suppress civic discourse on the Internet.

In this age of the internet, no person wants to make his decision on his own. Be it for purchasing a product, watching a movie, reading a book, a person looks out for reviews. People are unaware of the fact that these reviews may not always be true. It is the age of paid reviews, where the reviews are not just written to promote one's product but also to demote a competitor's product. But the ones which are turning out to be the most critical are given on brand of a certain product. This chapter proposed a novel approach for brand spam detection using feature correlation to improve state-of-the-art approaches. Several features attached with reviews are important, keeping in focus customer and company needs in making strong decisions, user for purchasing, and company for improving sales and services. Graphic communications industry has a tradition of more than one thousand years. Not since the invention of movable metal type by Gutenberg in 1450 has the communication landscape been shaken at its foundation as today, when print media face competition from new and novel forms of visual communication. In this paper, the critical analysis and study is made as to why printing has weathered the onslaught of new forms of communication in the past and if, in fact, print media will yet again be able to prevail over radically different methods of dissemi¬nating information. Although printing jobs are still in much need today and printing presses everywhere are keeping busy with a steady influx of orders everyday, people in the graphic communications industry should adapt to the new changes of the internet ages and make fully use of print communications to prevail over different kinds of new media. Printed Electronics and postpress finishing also play key roles in creating new functional print products and adding more value to print media.

Modern print media, for the most part, have a representation in the Internet, and the headings of articles turn into clickable links that the reader can click on to decide whether to read or not to read this text. As a result, a number of media outlets followed the path of ‘flashy’ headlines that do not predict the content of the text, but attract the attention of a potential reader. Such headings go back to the structure of the text adopted in the Byzantine rhetorical tradition: the beginning of the text was the first sign that attracted attention. Other media outlets choose the headline strategy as “ersatz text”: the headline is a concise summary of the text. In the context of digital text consumption, such a strategy is more beneficial for the consumer: by the title, he can already read the contents of the text and not open it if necessary. This strategy inherits the Roman tradition of the beginning of the text: in Quintilian’s scheme it was assumed that the first character of the text is a short retelling-announcement, designed to unite the audience and allowing making a decision whether or not to perceive this text. An analysis of the latest headlines in digital versions of Russian and English newspapers showed that the first strategy that goes back to the rhetoric of Byzantium prevails in Russia, and the second strategy that goes back to the rhetoric of the Roman Empire prevails in Great Britain and the USA. This allows us to talk about the continuation of the traditions of the cultural paradigm in the era of digitalization and the continuity of the cultural code. Keywords: mass media, newspaper language, headline, text, semiotics

The resulting graphic artwork was inspired by the Bima puppet figure who was dashing, muscular, athletic, honest, brave, never giving up, warlord, and accomplished knight. Bima’s characters and attributes are then poured in this graphic art. This work was created using a high-speed/print technique that has a unique shading effect, such as a texture effect because it goes through the printing process many times. The basic principles of art include unity, balance, harmony, proportion (proportion), and emphasis (domination) used as a theoretical framework. The author utilizes reproductive works in the form of photos of print media and from the internet to be explored. There are 14 works produced from the exploration.
