This paper presents the implementation of a prototype to lock/unlock the vehicle ignition system. It involves the adaptation of an opto-isolated relay, which has been equipped with a wireless interface of the MQTT protocol. The relay activation is controlled by an embedded board Raspberry Pi 3; it acts as the main unit of the proposed system. The executed control actions are given depending on the information received by radiofrequency from an implemented electronic breathalyzer. This device evaluates the alcohol level and humidity in the driver’s breath using the MQ-3 and DHT11 sensors. In addition, a mobile communication platform compatible with Android smartphones is provided to inform the enabling/disabling of the vehicle’s ignition system, its geographical location by GPS coordinates and a front facial photograph of the driver. All these features are incorporated by a wireless local network (WiFi) for the elements that make up the prototype. This work also presents the transmission of information to mobile terminals compatible with the Telegram instant messaging system through the UMTS network. In order to validate this proposal, the corresponding tests are carried out and their comparison with a commercial device.

In the past few years, all over the world, crime against children has been on the rise, and parents always worry about their children whenever they are outside. For this reason, tracking and monitoring children have become a considerable necessity. This paper presents an outdoor IoT tracking system which consists of a child module and a parent module. The child module monitors the child location in real time and sends the information to a database in the cloud which forwards it to the parent module (represented as a mobile application). This information is shown in the application as a location on Google maps.  The mobile application is designed for this purpose in addition to a number of extra functions. A Raspberry Pi Zero Wireless is used with a GSM/GPS module on shield to provide mobile communication, internet and to determine location. Implementation results for the suggested system are provided which shows that when the child leaves a pre-set safe area, a warring message pops up on the parent’s mobile and a path from the current parent location to the child location is shown on a map.

The purpose of this research is to design and implement an attendance system based on internet of things (IoT) . The proposed system integrated two types of attendance systems, face recognition based attendance system (FRA) and fingerprint-based attendance system (FPA), with a central server. The FRA was developed in a Raspberry Pi mini-computer using Python programming language and Openc CV library. The FPA, on the other hand, was developed using Node MCU ESP8266 and Fingerprint scanner AS608 with Adafruit Fingerprint library. Both FRA and FPA are connected to a web server with a database engine through the internet connection and sensing attendance data using the HTTP_POST method. The server was developed using Apache Webserver, PHP programming language, and MySQL database engine. The server serves two main purposes, which are to record the attendance data sent by the FPA and FRA, and generate an attendance report based on the user query. The system testing was done in a local network. The result showed that both the subsystems and the integrated system worked well

This paper deals with development of a Vehicle Security and Entertainment System, which is being used to monitor, track the vehicle, and to offer local entertainment system. The development system makes used of two embedded devices to split the entertainment system from the security system to ensure isolation and security. The security system is equipped with camera, distress signal switch and GPS/GPRS module to track, report a problem, and monitor the vehicle by sending data to a centralized database server where vehicle owner can access and retrieve these data to guarantee the safety of the passengers and the vehicle too. The second system is the entertainment system, where this system uses a powerful Intel atom embedded device and local network to allow users to connect and offer entertaining services. These services include, E-Book library and multimedia streaming. The main concept of research to develop a low cost system to secure and entertain passengers on vehicles like buses, train and even cars. The development is cost effective and as well as can be modified to add extra modules or to develop extra entertainment services. If the vehicle is stolen the system is able to send a distress signal to the owner or company. They can help the passengers by monitoring through the vehicle camera. In this research we have successfully developed and tested the system.

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol used for establishing and maintaining communication sessions involving two or more participants. SIP was initially designed for voice over IP and multimedia conferencing, and then was extended to support other services such as instant messaging and presence management. Today, SIP is also adopted to be used with 3G wireless networks, thus it becomes an integral protocol for ubiquitous environment. SIP has various methods that support a variety of applications such as subscribing to a service, notification of an event, status update, and location and presence services. However, when it comes to security, the use of wireless and mobile communication technologies and the pervasive nature of this environment introduce higher risks to security than that of the old simple environment. In this paper, we introduce new architecture that implements a new type of access control called usage access control (UCON) to control the access to the SIP-based communication at preconnection, during connection, and postconnection. This will enable prescribers of SIP services to control who can identify their locations to approve or disapprove their subsequent connections, and to also set some parameters to determine whether a certain communication can continue or should terminate.

Containerization has been mainly used in pure software solutions, but it is gradually finding its way into the industrial systems. This paper introduces the edge container with artificial intelligence for speech recognition, which performs the voice control function of the actuator as a part of the Human Machine Interface (HMI). This work proposes a procedure for creating voice-controlled applications with modern hardware and software resources. The created architecture integrates well-known digital technologies such as containerization, cloud, edge computing and a commercial voice processing tool. This methodology and architecture enable the actual speech recognition and the voice control on the edge device in the local network, rather than in the cloud, like the majority of recent solutions. The Linux containers are designed to run without any additional configuration and setup by the end user. A simple adaptation of voice commands via configuration file may be considered as an additional contribution of the work. The architecture was verified by experiments with running containers on different devices, such as PC, Tinker Board 2, Raspberry Pi 3 and 4. The proposed solution and the practical experiment show how a voice-controlled system can be created, easily managed and distributed to many devices around the world in a few seconds. All this can be achieved by simple downloading and running two types of ready-made containers without any complex installations. The result of this work is a proven stable (network-independent) solution with data protection and low latency.

Accidental fall detection for the elderly who live alone can minimize the risk of death and injuries. In this article, we present a new fall detection method based on "deep learning and image, where a human body recognition model-DeeperCut is used. First, a camera is used to get the detection source data, and then the video is split into images which can be input into DeeperCut model. The human key point data in the output map and the label of the pictures are used as training data to input into the fall detection neural network. The output model then judges the fall of the subsequent pictures. In addition, the fall detection system is designed and implemented with using Raspberry Pi hardware in a local network environment. The presented method obtains a 100% fall detection rate in the experimental environment. The false positive rate on the test set is around 1.95% which is very low and can be ignored because this will be checked by using SMS, WeChat and other SNS tools to confirm falls. Experimental results show that the proposed fall behavior recognition is effective and feasible to be deployed in home environment.

Computers and the Internet ushered humanity into a new era in the late 1900s—information on a variety of topics became widely available to the general public, and it became suddenly possible for individuals to communicate with one another instantaneously regardless of each person's geographical location. According to some, the evolution of technology has outpaced humanity's ability to learn how to manage technology properly, and this appears particularly true in the field of psychology. Instant messaging, social media sites, and video conferencing have all influenced the ways in which counselors and clients can interact. Questions remain, however, about the use of this technology. This paper addresses some of those questions by considering whether or not telepsychology is effective when it is used to conduct therapy and the circumstances under which a counselor might use a technological medium to provide such services. A review of some ethical considerations related to the use of technology in the service of providing therapeutic services is also included, as well as a discussion regarding the specific applicability of telepsychology services to international workers, specifically missionaries, serving abroad.
