A new group of firms has emerged since the war in Europe specialising in the design, ‘engineering’, and construction of process plants for the oil and chemical industries. These contractors undertake both the design of the plant and the procurement of the ‘hardware’ components used in the installations. Consequently the orders which they gain in world markets have a considerable indirect effect on the exports of the engineering industry, as well as providing invisible income.

Off-Site Modular Construction (OSMC) research has been a growing research area over the past two decades because of low productivity in construction. Tools are superior in factories and productivity is much higher compared to a stick built site. This has spawned the development small, factory built, rapidly deployable and flexible process plants to take advantage of the gains in OSMC productivity. Chemical process plant research is studying fast, automated design and configuration. In this paper, a literature review was performed on modular factory manufactured process plants. The literature review found that moving to small scale OSMC plant systems could enable cost and schedule savings and months of design time compared to the previous on-site assembly design. It was also found that while automation has been applied in earlier stages of the plant design process, a layout optimisation methodology has not been applied to small OSMC process plants. The paper then proposes to utilise a mathematical layout optimisation model to help design and construct modular process plants and considers how this may fit into the process plant design process, as well as considering the transport requirements for modules.

The article examines the current tendencies of entering the oil and fat subcomplex of Ukraine intothe world markets. It has been revealed that oil crops and their products are the main export commodity inagro-food export of the state. The large scale production of the sub-complex products, with modest domesticconsumption, is first and foremost associated with successful integration into international trade. Foreigntrade thus becomes an important factor in the development of the subcomplex. Considering the complexityand multidimensionality of the problem, the main segments of the market - oilseeds, oils and oilcake - arehighlighted in the research. On the basis of statistical data, the analysis of export volumes, dynamics, position on the world market and opportunities for their strengthening were made. It has been established thatUkraine, as a powerful producer and active participant in the world market, influences, to some extent, theexcess of world production over consumption of oil and products of their processing, which leads to a decrease in export prices and, as a consequence, to a loss of export earnings of domestic exporters. The studysubstantiates the need to improve the structure of production of oilseeds, the balance of use of soybeansand rapeseed, constant monitoring of the situation in foreign markets.

According to the internationally recognized ratings of national competitiveness assessment, the relevant global index of Russias economy has been recently stable on the level that does not reflect its real potential. This is also proved by the value of the aggregate designated indicators of the countrys economic development monitoring. The research into the papers that are strategically important for Russias continuous progress indicates the ways the government has chosen for further reforms through integrating an important innovational segment into the countrys economic structure. The article considers one of the ways of increasing the national competitiveness by means of improving the organization of Russian atomic engineering industry. Taking into account the current worldwide trends in this industry, as well as the competitive advantages of the Russian monopolist «Rosatom», its opportunities and threats in the world market, the authors suggest extending the geography of Russian nuclear power technologies usage by selling them to Asia - the fastest growing and developing atomic engineering market in the world.

This article investigates the impact of countries' comparative advantage following (CAF) strategy on their integration into the world markets for manufactured exports. The analysis uses a panel dataset of 113 countries (comprising both developed and developing countries) over the period 1995-2015. Based on the two-step system Generalized Method of Moments approach, the findings have shown that the CAF development strategy induces a rise in countries' share of manufactured export products in the world's total manufactured exports. Interestingly, the magnitude of this positive effect of the CAF strategy increases as the size of inward FDI stock rises. An important implication of this analysis is that countries that promote industries in line with their comparative advantage are likely to enjoy a greater integration into the world market for manufactured export products, notably when they experience a greater size of inward FDI stock.

The economic efficiency of the enterprise and the length of its operation, the full utilization of mineral reserves and the total cost of operation depend on the selected depth and boundaries of opencast mining. In such conditions of the deposits’ development it is necessary to evaluate the capabilities of the raw material base for the further development of the mining enterprise. The basis for determining of the border overburden ratio is on the condition that the price of manufactured marketable output of the designed enterprise should not exceed the price of the same marketable output in the world market. The realization of this condition is achieved analytically. This takes into account the impact of the rate of return on the final depth of the designed open pit. A new method of determining of the border overburden ratio is developed, which ensures the competitiveness of iron ore concentrate in the world market. The value of the border overburden ratio is developed for the Pershotravnevij open pit of the Northern mining and processing plant, depending on the situation of the iron-containing products’ prices, which ensures the competitiveness of marketable iron-ore output in the domestic and world markets.

The article seeks to explore the role of modern international marketing methodology in the context of world markets globalization. It is argued that the market economy paradigm is based on the methodology of international marketing. Within the scope of this study, international marketing is viewed as a key concept of strategic management of business international relationships which is currently becoming a global strategy for expanding international business interaction. Based on world best practice, the study develops a conceptual framework and methodological toolkit to enhance international marketing activities along with identifying the role of marketing in enterprise management through the prism of understanding its capacity and opportunities to address the issues of ensuring the company effective performance in the context of meeting the customers’ needs in modern realia of national and world economy development. From this perspective, the globalization of modern world economy is a crucial factor in bursting the development of international marketing. The paper provides insights on the international market development based on high technology implementation revealing the major trends associated with breakthrough innovations doomed to become the key drivers of international marketing development in the globalized world markets environment. The transformational changes in the behavior of global markets participants are considered as a solid background for building approaches to implement modern tools to spur international marketing innovations. The study also presents the nature and the specifics of the international marketing toolkit along with assessing its current state and the possibilities to further application by business entities in the world market settings. The findings provide implications for further development of modern international marketing in the globalization context associated with rapidly growing world economy dynamics, intensified manufacturers’ competition in the world market as well as with internationalization and integration of society. The authors suggest practical recommendations on the implementation of international marketing tools in Ukrainian enterprises and their positioning in the global markets.
