We categorized and content-analyzed 168 methodological literature reviews published in 42 management and applied psychology journals. First, our categorization uncovered that the majority of published reviews (i.e., 85.10%) belong in three categories (i.e., critical, narrative, and descriptive reviews), which points to opportunities and promising directions for additional types of methodological literature reviews in the future (e.g., meta-analytic and umbrella reviews). Second, our content analysis uncovered implicit features of published methodological literature reviews. Based on the results of our content analysis, we created a checklist of actionable recommendations regarding 10 components to include to enhance a methodological literature review’s thoroughness, clarity, and ultimately, usefulness. Third, we describe choices and judgment calls in published reviews and provide detailed explications of exemplars that illustrate how those choices and judgment calls can be made explicit. Overall, our article offers recommendations that are useful for three methodological literature review stakeholder groups: producers (i.e., potential authors), evaluators (i.e., journal editors and reviewers), and users (i.e., substantive researchers interested in learning about a particular methodological issue and individuals tasked with training the next generation of scholars).

The National Tourism Policy of Malaysia is known as the National Ecotourism Plan 2016-2025. It focuses on progressive and competitive tourism in the country by giving full thrust to appreciating a prosperous environment for stakeholders in the tourism sector. Hence the study of the systematic literature review focuses on several elements as the determinants of tourism policy namely Malaysia Tourism. Consequently, each of the previous study elements will explore the scope and dimensions functionality of each scientific article is consistently discussing to analyse the year in which the authors regularly publish their publications. This is to prove that a significant element of publication by the author. Meanwhile, the scope of the study by the author also risked the priority areas in each article by the authors of each element. It is important to prove that the scope supports the main headline of the paper which deals with the formulation of the National Tourism Policy. In fact, dimensions give priority to what they want to achieve in each article from the authors related to Tourism Policy. This paper reviews the Qualitative Method concept by referring to Content Analysis. As a result, it will illustrate that dimensions will be in sync with Tourism to achieve the national tourism policy aspirations.

Understanding boundary conditions, or situations when relations between variables change depending on values of other variables, is critical for theory advancement and for providing guidance for practice. Metaregression is ideally suited to investigate boundary conditions because it provides information on the presence and strength of such conditions. In spite of its potential, results of our review of 63 metaregression articles published in the Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management, Academy of Management Journal, and Strategic Management Journal uncovered a surprising lack of transparency, frequently implemented erroneous practices, and a lack of attention to important methodological choices. Results also suggest that many substantive conclusions are ambiguous at best and, unbeknownst to authors and readers, potentially misleading. Drawing from our review of the substantive literature as well as the latest statistical and methodological research, we offer evidence-based best-practice recommendations on how to conduct and report the results of a metaregression study. We offer recommendations on calculating statistical power and heterogeneity, choosing an appropriate model, testing boundary condition hypotheses, adjusting R2 for known variance, explaining methodological choices, and reporting and interpreting model coefficients and other results. Also, we conducted two illustrative metaregression studies that incorporate all of our recommendations with accompanying syntax and data. Our recommendations can be used by authors, readers, journal editors, and reviewers wishing to conduct and evaluate metaregression studies, as well as practitioners interested in understanding conditions under which organizational practices are more or less likely to be effective.

This research aimed to investigate the relevance between the literature reviews and the research questions of the theses written by the students who graduated in 2019 from seven study programs in STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat. The research design was qualitative research which focused on describing, explaining, and exploring the students’ thesis writings, whether the literature reviews described were relevant to their research questions. Purposive sampling was the technique used to select the data that consisted of 13 students’ theses. This research focused on those 13 theses because they were written in a qualitative method, which showed the relevance between research questions and the literature review. Here, content analysis was used to analyze the data to show whether the literature review of each thesis discusses the relevant theories to answer the research questions. The result showed that among 13 students’ theses, 6 theses were relevant, and 7 were irrelevant. It means that more students had written with irrelevant theories. It can be suggested to the thesis advisors to give more attention to the quality of students’ theses because the irrelevance can interfere with the qualities of their theses.

Purpose This paper aims to assess the links among these demand chain constructs by conducting a full-scale systematic review of all demand chain management (DCM) literature reviews published in marketing and operations management journals from 2013 to 2020. Marketing and supply chain management are central to DCM; thus, this study briefly describes the contributions to knowledge provided by the papers contained in this issue. In addition, some additional areas of research in which the DCM can be gainfully deployed are outlined. Design/methodology/approach This paper makes a systematic literature review of 70 literature samples by means of content analysis and comprehensive analysis. These approaches guarantee a replicable, rigorous and transparent research process and minimize researcher bias. The analytical categories required for the content analysis are defined along the constructs of marketing and supply chain management. Findings As can be expected, this paper highlights the key role of the two constructs in the strategy of DCM. In this light, the paper claims to provide evidence of a link between the constructs of marketing and supply chain management. This paper reviews the connotation of DCM through literature review, distinguishes the relationship between DCM and supply chain management from a strategic management perspective and discusses the future research direction. Research limitations/implications This study assesses the link between the strategic constructs of marketing and supply chain management through research embedded in literature reviews, pinpointing research gaps and potential future research directions in the field. Contributing to DCM theory building, a thorough review provides qualitative comparison of the link between marketing and supply chain management. Originality/value Although some literature reviews have been conducted in the past on the constructs of DCM, no full review of literature reviews aiming to test a strategic theoretical link in the demand chain related to supply chain and marketing.

The focus of our research is Customer Based Brand Equity (CBBE) in Indian medical tourism which has gained wider attention world-wide. To be able to operationalize CBBE (brand equity) for medical tourism scale development, we generated items for such a scale through content analysis. The research questions for this study were (a) What are the dimensions for a brand equity scale for medical tourism considering social, economic, and market influences? (b) How is culture along with an economic indicator such as infrastructure/superstructure relevant in the context of CBBE for medical tourism? and (c) To what extent does the content analysis of interviews based on questionnaires from literature reviews support the variable? The respondents were contacted from two large East Indian Hospitals with continuous visits by heterogeneous foreign patients. Content analysis was used to evaluate the responses using the framework for coding as given by Corbin and Strauss (2008). This paper explores the reasons as to why the patients from western countries and the Middle East prefer other destinations as compared to India for medical tourism. The medical tourism market is growing due to comparatively affluent middle class, better connectivity and wiser cost decisions by patients. The Indian medical tourism market has gained wider attention due to well trained and competent physicians, cost consideration, quality service, better international accessibility and popular use of English as the primary mode for spoken and written communication language. However, there is no general relevant Customer Based Brand Equity (CBBE) scale for medical tourism market till present day. We have identified six dimensions (three new) for a consolidated and unified CBBE scale for medical tourism. In the later part, we have done a content analysis of 90 patient interviews conducted in Eastern Indian hospitals. The interview questionnaire was developed from the literature review. Lastly, a content analysis is done using Nvivo software for logical validation of literature findings. The content findings and prior literature review enabled us to propose the dimensions of the CBBE scale for medical tourism. The new dimensions may be used for future CBBE research in medical tourism at the global level.

Introduction:Best practice first aid management of accidental hypothermia and cold injuries in the prehospital setting is relevant for disaster management in cold environments as well as for wilderness and expedition medicine, and space medicine. In the Australasian context, guidance is currently taken from the Australian Resuscitation Council (“ARC”) Guidelines dealing with these issues.Aim:To review and update the recommendations of the ARC Guideline 9.3.3 Hypothermia: First-Aid Management (February 2009) and ARC Guideline 9.3.6 Cold Injury (March 2000).Method: The review is being undertaken through a combination of a focused literature review and expert opinion. Through the author’s membership of the International Commission for Alpine Rescue (“ICAR”) Alpine Emergency Medicine Commission, two northern-hemisphere experts on hypothermia have reviewed the guidelines and provided commentary and recommendations. Results:Much of the literature around accidental hypothermia and cold injuries (including frostbite, frostnip, and chilblains), relies on expert opinion and case studies. There are relatively few randomized controlled trials, and these are often confined to the laboratory setting. As a result, there is a heavier reliance on expert opinion than in any other areas of medicine.Discussion:This presentation will summarize the current best practice recommendations for the first aid management of accidental hypothermia and cold injuries through combining the existing ARC Guidelines with key advances identified through the literature review, and the key management recommendations stemming from expert opinion. This will provide attendees with a cohesive set of clinical practice recommendations which can be used in the field.

40 Background: A province-wide review of oncology regimens identified discrepancies in a number of regimens in systemic treatment computerized prescriber order entry (ST CPOE) systems. The potential patient harm from such discrepancies includes unnecessary toxicities and reduced treatment efficacy. The regimen review highlighted the need for a high-quality process to improve the safety of systemic treatment prescribing in Ontario. The objective of this work was to develop recommendations on best practices for the development and maintenance of oncology regimens. Methods: An expert multidisciplinary group of oncology clinicians and administrators was formed to review available literature and leverage their expertise to establish oncology-specific recommendations. These were then circulated to broader stakeholder groups for feedback and consensus. Results: Practical, consensus-based best practice recommendations for ST CPOE and pre-printed order regimen development and maintenance were created. Detailed processes for new regimen development are outlined in the table below. Moreover, broad areas of roles and responsibility, frequency of review, and sign-off were highlighted. This was repeated for regimen changes (not shown). Conclusions: There is a lack of guidance in the literature on best practices for oncology regimen development and maintenance. Careful analysis and application of the expertise of oncology professionals resulted in consensus-based best practice recommendations that will enable the advancement of safe, standardized, systemic treatment prescribing.[Table: see text]

Constructing a conceptual framework has always been a problem for many postgraduate students. Even though the students are exposed to many different tools as well as guided with 21st-century skills along the process of conducting research, many of them are seeking helps to complete their postgraduate studies in stages.  A solid conceptual framework is an output of conducting a literature review. The construction of a conceptual framework involves multiple research skills. To meet the requirement of thesis completion, supervisors are always emphasizing the implementation of these skills as well as finding the best practice while addressing challenges of guiding them to understand and construct a conceptual framework. Meanwhile, the supervisors must get a better picture of how their postgraduate students undergo the process of constructing a conceptual framework from their literature review. Hence, the thesis supervisors need to understand a better way for helping them to achieve the level of competency. This study aims to investigate supervisors’ perceptions of guiding their postgraduate students to construct a conceptual framework in fulfillment of the advanced skills. A qualitative approach was employed to collect data. Three thesis supervisors were interviewed. They provided feedback on their experiences of supervision. Specifically, their experiences in supervising and guiding students to work on the conceptual framework were explored. The findings show that their postgraduate students have some problems in conducting literature reviews critically. On the other hand, the supervisors agreed that they play important roles as supervisors to guide and engage the students so that they can think flexibly; hence, producing a good piece of a conceptual framework.  This study provides insights on the focused aspects for the development of skills in constructing conceptual frameworks among postgraduate students.   Pembinaan kerangka konsep merupakan salah satu masalah yang dihadapi di kalangan pelajar pasca siswazah.
