Agile methods have taken software development by storm but have been primarily applied to projects in what is referred to as the “agile sweet spot,” which consists of small collocated teams working on small, non-critical, green field, in-house software projects with stable architectures and simple governance rules. These methods are being used more and more on large projects, but little documentation is available in the academic literature. This article investigates the adoption and adaptation of agile methods for use on large projects in large organizations. The empirical study is based first on case studies, followed by a survey to validate and enrich the case study results. The results are somewhat paradoxical in that some features are common to almost all observations, whereas others show extreme variability. The common features include use of Scrum methodology and agile coaches, as well as the non-respect of the agile principle of emergent architecture.

This chapter argues that the extreme variability of schizophrenic phenotypes is a paradigmatic case study for explicating the dialectics between uncanny feelings of depersonalization/derealization and the attitude of the person who experiences them. Why do persons who suffer from these kinds of anomalous self-, body-, and world-experiences develop either a delusional form of schizophrenia or a ‘pauci-symptomatic’ type of this illness, or a schizotypal personality disorder? Why do delusions in people with schizophrenia take on so many different themes, and not only ontological ones, but also, for example, persecutory, hypochondriac, of reference, of agnition (filiation), external influence, etc.? If we subscribe to the ‘one root–many branches’ conceptualization of the manifold of schizophrenia, then we must be able to explain why, arising from the common root of self-disorders, schizophrenic phenotypes take on so many different features. A plausible answer is that self-disorder, being at the core of the vulnerability to schizophrenia, is refracted through the prism of the person’s background of values and beliefs that determine what things and events in the world mean for them. This personal background is a pre-reflective context of meaning and significance within which and against which persons understand themselves, others, and their world.

Storytelling as strategy to transmit values and identity of a brand has acquired relevance during the last years. However, this concept is already relatively underdeveloped in academic literature on tourism destinations. This paper aims to analyze storytelling potentialities and use in a tourism destination trough traditional stories. Legends of the city of Girona (Spain) have been chosen as a case study. Results demonstrated that legends of the city have the potential to develop a storytelling strategy, but this potential is not used properly.

Evidence-based practices are often discussed but less easily implemented. Almost all the existing manualized, diagnostic-specific evidence-based practices were neither designed for nor tested in residential programs. However, a recent survey of group care providers found great interest and some success in infusing evidence-based programs and practices in serving youth. This article described four possible pathways for group care programs to pursue to advance the use of evidence-based practices and programs. These examples include using the common elements approach, building a home-grown program and its evidence, adapting an existing manualized practice for a group care setting, and adapting a residential program to incorporate an evidence-based practice. An extended case study is provided to illustrate the process and potential challenges of creating an intervention and testing it in a group care setting.

The use of development banks as a source of long-term funding is one of the common characteristics of BRICS economies. This chapter summarizes data on the extent of the involvement of such banks and reviews the key objectives identified for such banks in the academic literature—in particular their role in terms of strategic lending and financial inclusion. The experience of the Brazilian bank Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social is used as a case study. This bank has played a major role in the Brazilian economy as a source of long-term credit, although critics have pointed to a focus on large borrowers and its possible impact in stifling the emergence of private sector financial institutions.

Pulmonary Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that attacks the lung parenchyma, caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. This disease can also spread to other body parts such as meninges, kidneys, bones and lymph nodes of pulmonary TB is a big problem for developing countries including Indonesia As most developing countries do. Almost all adult residents have been infected by TB bacilli in easy times, since most pulmonary TB disease in this country is caused by bacilli that undergo reactivity Goals : To know the description of the patient's knowledge of TBC Lung prevention transmission of pulmonary tuberculosis infection in the internal room At Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan. Method: type of rancanagn case study used is descriptive number of subjects is as much as 9 0rang data collection in the form of questionnaires after that done scoring data is presented in the form of tables and distribution frequency Results: From the case study the frequency distribution of respondents based on the use of the questionnaire. From the case study conducted (seen in table 4.1) that more male sex is 9 people (100%) and female 0 (0%). From this case study, the result is good.. Conclusion: Based on the results of the case studies described above, the authors conclude the case study results that the level of education greatly influences the patient's knowledge in preventing transmission of TB disease. It is evident that the level of education of the upperand upper-secondary patients with the highest proportion of case studies ( 55,5%) know the mode of transmission of infection prevention.

The study reported in this paper aims to show how Croatian lower-secondary mathematics teachers coped with remote education during the lockdown necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic. The research design refers to the case study of six teachers. On five occasions, the teachers were interviewed about the organisation of their virtual classrooms, forms of assessment, and utilisation of (digital) teaching resources from the beginning of March until the end of June 2020. The study results showed that social parameters were prominent factors in the decision-making of many teachers regarding teaching remotely. For example, the teachers always put students’ needs first: they were accessible almost all day to their students, they tried not to overload students and provided daily feedback on their work. In addition, the teachers in the study raised the issue of academic dishonesty in remote education – the digital environment made cheating easier and meant that the usual assessment formats became unfeasible. Although the findings provide insight into the work of teachers during a pandemic, a larger sample would provide generalisations about the changes in workload that mathematics teachers experienced during remote education.

Skin is a type of Gyanendriya (Sparshna indriya) and largest sense organ in the body. It is result of healthy constitution of body as well as healthy mental state. Skin has great cosmetological importance. Due to sed-entary lifestyle, inappropriate diet habits and excessive stress, numerous skin aliments arise. Hence it is need for inculcating healthy skin care habits. One of the common worrying factors related to skin is Dark circles. It affects almost all age groups and is most commonly related to stress and anxiety. Drugs adminis-tered through nasal route acts on higher centers of the brain. It acts on neurological, endocrinal and circula-tory centers and regulates their functions. This study is aimed to evaluate the role of Nasya Karma with kumkumadi taila in Dark circles.

SummaryThe tissue fibrinolysis was studied in 550 specimens of 7 kinds of arteries from 80 fresh cadavers, using Astrup’s biochemical method and Todd’s histochemical method with human fibrinogen. In the microscopically normal aortic wall, almost all specimens had the fibrinolytic activity which was the strongest in the adventitia and the weakest in the media. The fibrinolytic activity seemed to be localized in the endothelium. The stronger activity lay in the adventitia of the aorta and the pulmonary artery and all layers of the cerebral artery. The activity of the intima and media of the macroscopically normal areas seemed to be stronger in the internal carotid artery than in the common carotid artery.Mean fibrinolytic activity of the macroscopically normal areas seemed to decrease with age in the intima and the media of the thoracic aorta and seemed to be low in the cases with a high atherosclerotic index. The fibrinolytic activities of all three layers of the fibrous thickened aorta seemed to decrease, and those of the media and the adventitia of the atheromatous plaque to increase. The fibrinolytic activity of the arterial wall might play some role in the progress of atherosclerosis.

A mechanism of the therapeutic effect of multipotent mesenchymal stem cells (MMSC) on irradiated body has recently arisen much interest of researchers. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by almost all cells of a living organism were suggested to actively contribute to the paracrine mechanism of this effect. The aim of the study was isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles produced by various types of stem cells. Materials and methods. Suspensions of EVs were isolated from culture media of passage 2 human bone marrow-derived MMSC and passage 4 rat adipose tissue-derived MMSC using a modified protocol of differential centrifugation and then studied using transmission electron microscopy and nanoparticle tracking analysis. Results. The study showed the presence of microparticles with a size of >100 nm in the examined samples. However, the percent content of particles with different sizes in the suspension was different in two analyzed types of cell culture. Conclusion. The study results might reflect a specificity of secretion determined by the cell type.
