The monodelusional disorders correspond closely to the Kraepelinian description of paranoia (Kraepelin, 1921), and to the DSM—III—R category of “delusional (paranoid) disorder” (American Psychiatric Association, 1987). The essential feature is a stable delusional system, and the encapsulated quality of the delusion is characteristic. The rest of the personality is notably well preserved, but the delusional system, despite its encapsulation, takes over much of the individual's way of life. There are profound and striking secondary changes in affect, attitude and logic when the patient switches from the normal to the delusional mode or vice versa.

The banyan-type switching networks, well known in switching theory and called the logdN switching fabrics, are composed of symmetrical switching elements of size d×d. In turn, the modified baseline architecture, called the MBA(N,e,g), is only partially built from symmetrical optical switching elements, and it is constructed mostly from asymmetrical optical switching elements. Recently, it was shown that the MBA(N,e,g) structure requires a lower number of passive as well as active optical elements than the banyan-type switching fabric of the same capacity and functionality, which makes it an attractive solution. However, the optical signal-to-crosstalk ratio for the MBA(N,e,g) was not investigated before. Therefore, in this paper, the optical signal-to-crosstalk ratio in the MBA(N,e,g) was determined. Such crosstalk influences the output signal’s quality. Thus, if such crosstalk is lower, the signal quality is better. The switching fabric proposed in the author’s previous work has lower optical signal losses than a typical Beneš and banyan-type switching networks of this same capacity and functionality, which gives better quality of transmitted optical signals at the switching node’s output. The investigated MBA(N,e,g) architecture also contains one stage fewer than banyan-type network of the same capacity, which is an essential feature from the optical switching point of view.

The clinical and cost-effectiveness of collaborative care for improving outcomes in people with mental and physical comorbidities is well established. However, translating these models into enduring change in routine care has proved difficult. In this editorial we outline how to shift the conversation on collaborative care from ‘what are we supposed to do?’ to ‘how we can do this’.Declaration of interestP.P.R. has received honoraria from Publicis LifeBrands and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement outside of the submitted work. Luxury is an industry that defines its value through the quality of its raw materials, which fosters creativity, elevates artisanship and relies on brand heritage and local production to underpin the provenance of its products and justify its pricing strategy and, as such, can be considered as embodying many of the practices of sustainability. Yet, despite public commitments and pledges for better business, both financial and cultural factors have contributed to a lack of progress in implementing the necessary system changes implied by slow fashion, sustainable development and the circular economy. Social enterprises use business to address social and environmental issues. In Tengri’s case, founder Nancy Johnston was inspired by her experiences travelling with Mongolia’s yak herders where she was confronted with the harshness of the nomadic way of life and threats to its continuing existence. She was driven to action when she juxtaposed these conditions with the promoted glamour of the luxury fashion industry, which relies on supplies of ingredients from just such workers. This article explores how Tengri combines social and environmental awareness with luxury product development incorporating the UN SDGs into a sustainable luxury menswear brand in a virtuous cycle of ethical fashion consumption and production.

At present, information on the state of the atmosphere is widely used both in the preparation of weather forecasts and in solving many economic problems. An essential feature of meteorological phenomena is their spatial and temporal variability. This makes it necessary to organize observations in such a way that will allow timely noting the occurrence of the phenomenon and monitoring the progress of its development. Statistics show that in the period from 1997 to 2000 there were about 193 aviation incidents, which were caused by shortcomings in the meteorological support of flights. Therefore, the task of improving the quality of meteorological support is urgent. This article shows, based on model and practical experiments, that the LaRaWAN wireless communication channel is able to combine the entire data stream coming from remote meteorological sensors using various communication protocols among themselves. During the experiment, I obtained positive results, proving the possibility of organizing such communication channels for the tasks of meteorological support of airfields. A block diagram for the organization of a communication channel is also provided. At the same time, the laying of cable communications is not required, when the cost of this type of work, including coordination, often significantly exceeds the cost of the meteorological equipment itself

The article is devoted to the study of the possibilities and peculiarities of the city environment from the point of view of providing the necessary conditions for the active city lifestyle and active tourism. Cities are interested in the develop- ment of tourism, as an industry that actively attracts investments in the economy, creating a huge variety of workplaces and selfemployment, contributing to the growth of the tax base, preserving local uniqueness and historical and cultural heritage that stimulates creative industries. Obviously, it is impossible, and it is not necessary to create two different cities – “for tourists” and “for citizens”. It means that infrastructure, including transport, street network, cafes and restaurants, entertainment and shopping centers, parks and embankments are actively used by both citizens and tourists. Moreover tourists are attracted by the same objects and events that are in demand among local residents. Accordingly, the creation of a comfortable, safe, friendly city environment is a prerequisite for development, both in terms of improving the quality of life of citizens and attracting tourists. Cities are interested in diversifying the offer for tourist and should contribute to the formation of material and unmaterial factors for the active tourism development. Material factors include the corresponding infrastructure, high-quality ecological situation and a number of others. Unmaterial factors are formed on the basis of city culture, one of the values of which is the active way of life. Priority should be given to the development of the infrastructure of safe school routes, stimulating active modes of movement in the daily regime, creating accessible and safe areas for various sports and outdoor activities.

Summary The purpose of the study was to identify and analyze the occurrence of cathartic states in a sample of long-distance runners. Data collected via questionnaires were used to evaluate quantitative variables complemented by heuristics while aiming at qualitatively categorize the areas of cathartic states in the context of philosophical and spiritual aspects of long-distance running. The study findings objectify philosophical and spiritual aspects affecting personalities of long-distance runners. The study findings have shown that catharsis represents a relevant philosophical and spiritual aspect affecting long-distance running. We assume that authentic experience of catharsis and its effects motivates runners to perform regular physical activity. The analysis of philosophical and spiritual aspects of long-distance running has revealed a multi-spectral holistic relevance based on the transfer affecting a specific way of life, spectrum of values, ethical personality traits, and also the quality of long-distance runners’ lives.

The article describes the dynamics of students’ attitude to distance learning in the situation of forced transition to distance learning in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. Students’ attitude to the content, organizational and motivational aspects of distance learning was studied using a questionnaire with online service Google form. The study was organized by the longitudinal method. Measurements of students’ attitude were carried out in the early days of distance learning and at the end of the first month. Research questions concerned 1) assessing changes in the organization of educational process, its efficiency and students’ self-motivation in the first days after the transition to distance learning; 2) changes in attitude to distance learning at the end of the first month: 3) contribution of objective factors (curriculum, financial conditions of study, place of stay during the period of distance learning, experience in the use of online educational platforms, current academic achievements) to the dynamics of the students’ attitude. The participants of the study were 94 students of the 1st-4th year. The results revealed a steady trend to lower evaluations by students the quality of assimilating knowledge, abilities and skills as well as to decrease of learning motivation and quality of interaction with teachers on the subjective background of increasing educational load. The general tendency to worsening assessments of distance learning can be mitigated by such factors as pre-formed competencies in the use of distance educational technologies, external (financial) incentives to learn and the ability to change the usual way of life due to changes in the usual place of residence.

Urban sprawl and its economic, social, and environmental consequences are central issues for approaching more sustainable forms of life and production. This review provides a broad theoretical exploration of the main features of urban sprawl but also of sustainable urban policies in Western Europe and North America. Urban sprawl can be observed in both continents, as the search for higher standards of economic, social, and environmental sustainability is also an essential feature of urban governance in the last years. Urban sprawl has been slightly weaker in Western Europe, as its are cities generally more compact. Moreover, in Western Europe, urban sprawl has sometimes been confronted with ex-ante preventive policies. However, in North America, urban sprawl from the 1950s has been an essential element of the social ordering and, thus, of the American way of life. In both cases, urban sprawl has generated successive rounds of accumulation of built capital, which is currently managed in sustainable ways essentially through ex-post and palliative measures, that is, trying to “sustain what is unsustainable”. In other words, the idea is to make urban sprawl more sustainable but without altering its main morphological elements.

Harmonization of the relationship between society, economy, and nature requires both the development of more environmentally friendly technologies or restrictions on its exploitation, as well as a change in the way of life and work. This is particularly about improving the quality of work to reduce energy consumption and/or pollution. In this context, the issue of the organizational climate that determines job satisfaction and increasing cooperation towards sustainable development is of particular importance. The article presents the results of research on the organizational climate carried out on a selected group of students employed in textile industry enterprises. The analysis of the results allows us to state the high assessment of the climate at work in its individual spheres and a high level of trust in the management of the organization.
