In deciding what mathematics should be taught at any grade level it is necessary to know the mathematical needs of the students. However, unless we subscribe to the doctrine that no one should learn more about anything than he will need to live at that particular age level, we must also consider the future needs of the students as well. I do not subscribe to this doctrine, hence in this discussion considerable weight will be given to the mathematical needs of adults in deciding what shall be taught to children. This seems especially necessary at the high school level, since, in the case of mathematics, the student is often taking his last course in the subject.

In the article we reveal the influence of methodical training of the future teacher of mathematics on the development of logical thinking of future teachers. We substantiate that the effectiveness of the development of logical thinking of students in mathematics lessons depends on the quality of methodological training of mathematics teachers in the free economic zone. Our experience in training future teachers of mathematics, allowed us to identify the criteria of methodological competence of mathematics teachers in the development of logical thinking of students: motivational, cognitive and activity; to characterize indicators of methodical competence of the teacher of mathematics in the course of development of logical thinking of pupils. We characterize the motivational criterion as the need of future mathematics teachers to master the methodological knowledge, skills and abilities for the development of logical thinking of students. The motivational criterion is revealed by the following indicators: professional orientation on the development of students' logical thinking; motivation for self-improvement in methodical activity. The cognitive criterion reflects the knowledge of future mathematics teachers of the logical component of students' mathematical competence. Indicators of the cognitive criterion of methodological competence of a mathematics teacher in the process of development of logical thinking of students are: completeness of theoretical knowledge of the logical component of mathematical competence of students; familiarity with the methods of developing students' logical thinking in mathematics lessons. The activity criterion shows the ability of future mathematics teachers to develop students 'logical thinking and involves mastery of methods for developing students' logical thinking. Indicators of the activity criterion of methodical competence of a mathematics teacher in the process of developing students' logical thinking are: the ability to use theoretical knowledge in practice; ability to develop the logical component of students' mathematical competence; the ability to generate new ideas aimed at improving the development of logical thinking of students. Selected criteria and indicators of methodological competence of mathematics teachers in the development of logical thinking of students reveal the importance of the ability to form a logical component of mathematical competence of students and determine the content of methodical activities of teachers in the development of logical thinking of students.

Erickson, a New York City high school student, and I were working on his algebra homework over Zoom, specifically parabolas. We broke down the motion of a basketball and compared it to a parabola. He happened to have a small hoop on the back of his door and when he tried the motion himself, it was clear something clicked. You see, Erickson is a kinesthetic learner. During the pandemic, it has been challenging to design interactive materials and lessons for different types of learners. Distance learning disproportionality favors visual learners, followed by aural; however, reaching our kinesthetic learners has been a challenge.

ABSTRACT: In this article, we present an analysis of journalistic discourse about the representations of the teacher profile in Angolan education. The objective is to discuss, linguistically and discursively, how the media approach aspects related to education, focusing on the analysis of what has been said and not said in a public tender for new teachers in the public sector in Angola, in the year 2018. In this manner, were used the theoretical-methodological contributions of Pêcheux (1988) on interdiscourse and Orlandi (1997) on silence, important for the understanding of the "discursive game" between the said and not said about the profile of the teacher. In order to compose the corpus, we considered 14 texts published in 2018 by the Jornal de Angola. Such a temporal definition was established because of its coinciding with the public tender that was widely covered by the media, so our hypothesis is that the aspects addressed by the media are those for which acceptance is sought by the government. In this way, there would be material to discuss how and which educational sector expectations of the future teacher are represented by the media. It should be emphasized that the analysis of the interconnection between different types of discourses may allow a better understanding of its impact on the imaginary that is built on teachers, teaching in general and the solution to the educational difficulties in Angola. Keywords: Civil service examination; Discourse; Education; Imaginary formations.
