Despite the vital role of teachers in delivering English instructions, English learning material takes the most prominent role in the learning process. As English learning process is expected to be learning centered, the role of English learning material becomes more strategic and crucial in fostering students’ learning. With the adopted curriculum as the framework and the concept of authentic materials as the basis, the development of English learning material needs to incorporate students’ learning problems and expectations. As such, teachers as learning facilitators are supposed to be alert to students’ needs for learning as well as their expectations and use them to update the learning materials as learning takes place. Students’ worksheets, which are the reflection of their current inter-language, are very good resource for teachers in developing a series of updated English learning materials and relevant communicative activities which are student-friendly. Developed on the revised Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach and Krashen’s Input Hypothesis, this paper highlights the importance of accommodating students’ learning problems for developing English learning materials by using formative and summative assessments results within a period of an English instructional program

[TAFSEER LEARNING METHODS IN 'ULUM AL-QUR'AN BASED SCHOOL]. This paper is aimed to respond to the lack of formulation of tafsir learning methods at schools. This study shows that the learning method with the basis of Ulum al-Qur’an consists of three aspects, i.e. the foundation, learning material, and method. The foundation of tafsir learning comprises three elements; it must be based on the function of the Qur'an, gradual, and not burdensome. Then, the learning materials of tafsir can use the stories contained in the Qur'an, asbab al-nuzul (reason of revelation), and the main themes of the Qur'an. Meanwhile, the tafsir learning process uses the ijmali method. This is a library based study with data sources from books, especially ‘Ulum al-Qur'an Mabahits fi 'Ulum al-Qur'an by Manna' al-Qathan, 'Ulum al-Qur'an by Nuruddin' Itr, Kaidah Tafsir by M. Quraish Shihab, and Membumikan Ulumul Qur’an by Ahsin Sakho Muhammad as well as research results in the form of journals and others in the field of education. Connecting indigenous knowledge systems and practices with adult education programs has priceless value of promoting and transferring indigenous perspectives from generation to generation. Indeed, education is the surest path to ensuring social continuity when it ought to be based on the real-life experiences of learners and what their immediate environment and social realities entail. This demands the development of relevant adult learning materials and the utilization of participatory facilitation methodologies. Considering this in mind, this study was aimed to explore the integration of indigenous knowledge into adult education practices. In doing so, a case-study design was employed. The study sample was composed of eighteen experts, seven adult education literacy center coordinators, and seventy adult learners. Interview and FGD were considered the major data-gathering tools. Also, thematic analysis was the center of this study’s data analysis. As a result, the finding indicated that even though adult learners have diverse learning experiences, narrow emphasis has been given to the development of learning concepts and objectives in adult learning materials. The application of appropriate facilitation methods through participating experienced learners remains symbolic. To enhance the positive inclusion of indigenous knowledge into adult learning, learning material and its facilitation environment must be conducive and adequately be portraited. Therefore, the objective of this study is to explore the existing practice of indigenous knowledge integration into adult education in North Wollo, from the perspectives of learning material development and utilization of the facilitation methodology.
