This qualitative research paper examines managerial competences through self-reflection. The main purpose of the evaluation is to identify strategic goals for developing and educating managers. Managerial competences are perceived as intellectual potential, through which the functions and roles of managers are performed. In the paper, managerial competences are evaluated through the self-reflection of middle managers. Due to the recommended extent of the paper, self-reflection results were presented as a case study using a SWOT analysis. The results were incorporated into the development strategy of managers. The study represents an atypical example of defensive development strategy of managers, i.e. the strategy of strong managers in adverse working environment. The main purpose of the study is to highlight the possibilities of applying SWOT analysis for self-reflection of managers and subsequent incorporation of results into development and education programs.

This study aims to analyze the marketing mix and development strategy which is applied to the agroindustry of Coffee Powder of Intan Brand in Bandar Lampung City.  This research was conducted purposively in the agroindustry of Intan Brand Coffee Powder in determined Bandar Lampung City of Lampung Province.  Data collection of this study was conducted from March to April 2017.  This research is a case study, employed 14 people as respondents.  The research data is analyzed by qualitative descriptive and SWOT analysis.  The results of this study indicated that the marketing mix applied to the Intan Brand Coffee Powder agroindustry were (a) good quality product, (b) price determined by competitor price, (c) located at strategic place, and (d) promotion activities that have been applied by Intan Brand Agroindustry Coffee Powder was by face-to-face sales and sales promotion.  The development strategy of Intan Brand Coffee Powder agroindustry in Bandar Lampung City were (a) the owner of agroindustry was determining the policy on utilizing the technology, (b) utilizing the location in the market and continuing to cooperate with PTPN 7 in order to have a bigger opportunities (c) maintaining good quality product so that the product could still competing with similar business at the market, (d) empowering the ability and human resource skills to resolve the limitations of capital in following technological developments.Key words: coffee powder, development strategy, marketing mix

Penelitian ini membahas tentang strategi pengembangan Paguyuban Sripanglaras Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjawab dua permasalahan yang diajukan: pertama, bagaimana kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman yang dimiliki oleh Paguyuban Sripanglaras sampai dengan saat ini; dan yang kedua, bagaimana formulasi strategi pengembangan Paguyuban Sripanglaras. Untuk membedah permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metodologi penelitian dengan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis SWOT sebagai alat untuk menemukan faktor internal dan faktor eksternal Paguyuban Sripanglaras. Matriks IE (internal – eksternal) Paguyuban Sripanglaras berada pada sel I yang menunjukkan tumbuh dan bina, strategi yang digunakan adalah intensif (penetrasi pasar, pengembangan pasar, dan pengembangan produk). Sedangkan kuadran analisis SWOT Paguyuban Sripanglaras berada pada posisi pertama yakni ekspansion atau mendukung strategi ofensif. Strategi pengembangan Paguyuban Sripanglaras yang dihasilkan yakni dengan menggunakan strategi campuran yang berasal dari strategi SO dan strategi WO. The development strategy of the Sripanglaras Community in Kulon Progo RegencyABSTRACTThis research discusses the development strategy of Paguyuban Sripanglaras Kulon Progo Regency. The purpose of this research is to answer two proposed problems: first, how are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Paguyuban Sripanglaras to date; and second, how to formulate the development strategy of the Sripanglaras Association. To dissect these problems, researchers used a research methodology with qualitative methods with a case study approach. This study uses SWOT analysis as a tool to find internal and external factors of the Sripanglaras Association. IE matrix (internal-external) Paguyuban Sripanglaras is in cell I, which shows growth and development; the strategy used is intensive (market penetration, market development, and product development). Meanwhile, the SWOT analysis quadrant of the Sripanglaras Association is in the first position, namely expansion or supporting the offensive strategy. The resulting Sripanglaras association development strategy uses a mixed strategy derived from the SO strategy and the WO strategy.

This research intended  to evaluate the development strategy of Marine Fish Hatchery Unit at Gumilamo Island, North Halmahera. Analysis SWOT was used to determine the development strategy. Data were collected by questionnaire, interview and literature relevant to the research. SWOT analysis showed the internal and external factors that affected the development of Marine Fish Hatchery at Gumilamo island. The strenght were location, water quality , local government support, and availability of seeds and feed. Weakness were lack of public interest, lack of extension and human resources. Opportunity were the high value of the sale, business opportunities and  local government regulation. ABSTRAK Rumah sakit adalah institusi penyedia jasa layanan kesehatan, Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Dr. R. Sosodoro Djatikoesoemo Bojonegoro sebagai salah satu Rumah Sakit milik pemerintah kabupaten Bojonegoro. Sebagai pusat rujukandari beberapa rumah sakit di daerah Bojonegoro dan sekitarnya. Dalam penelitian ini menggunkan suatu pen dekatan dengan analisis SWOT yang merupakan langkah awal dari suatu perencanaan strategi pengembangan yang dimulai dengan identifikasi masalah, tujuan organisasi sampai pada menimbang kekuatan dan kelemahan sendiri serta peluang dan ancaman dari luar dan juga melakukan beberapa langkah penting yang menunjang pemasaran atau pengembangan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi kasus dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan Populasi dalam penelitian ini populasinya adalah pasien rawatinap dan pasien rawat jalan sebanyak 200 orang responden Sampel merupakan sebagian atau wakil populasi yang diteliti. Dalam penelitian ini mengunakan sampling pertimbangan (Judgement Sampling) Dari hasil pendekatan dengan analisis SWOT perlunya pelaksanaan atau realisasi dari struktur organisasi yang menempatkan farmasis dalam farmasi klinik, peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas sumber daya manusia, serta perlunya penambahan fasilitas berhubungan dengan IPTEK untuk kegiatan pelayanan farmasi baik secara manajerial maupun ke arah farmasi klinik. Kata Kunci : Farmasi, Analisis SWOT ABSTRACT The hospital is an institution health care providers, Regional General Hospital Dr. R. Sosodoro Djatikoesoemo Bojonegoro as one of the government-owned hospital Bojonegoro. As the center rujukandari several hospitals in Bojonegoro and the surrounding area. In this study using the approach with a pen SWOT analysis is the first step of a development strategy planning which starts with the identification of the problem, the purpose of the organization came to weigh their own strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats from the outside and also did some important steps to support the marketing or development. This research is a case study using qualitative descriptive study design and population in this study population was rawatinap patients and outpatients as many as 200 people respondent sample is partially or representative of the population studied. In this study, using sampling considerations (Judgement Sampling) From the SWOT analysis approach with the need for the implementation or realization of the organizational structure that puts pharmacists in clinical pharmacy, improving the quality and quantity of human resources, as well as the need for additional facilities related to science and technology for good pharmaceutical service activities managerially and in the direction of clinical pharmacy. Sea transportation is a major factor connecting the islands of Indonesia which has strategic and important value in supporting the sustainability of the national economy. Along with the government's policy on the sea highway program and the development of the domestic shipping industry, the growth of the commercial fleet, especially vessels, is currently experiencing rapid progress. In supporting the government program and the demand for reparation and procurement of new ships in domestic production, readiness is required from the shipyard. However, the current condition of the shipyard is only able to meet 83% of the demand for new shipbuilding so that the shipyard still needs to be developed in order to improve its capabilities, so that it can meet the needs and be able to carry out its functions in accordance with the progress of shipping technology. In this study discusses the strategy of developing shipbuilding using qualitative descriptive methods and quantitative SWOT analysis. In this case study shipyard development strategy by increasing the ability of shipyards to meet the demands of ship building by increasing supporting facilities and accompanied by increasing the ability of human resources in the mastery of science and technology. Sumenep is one of the salt producers in Indonesia. The problem experienced by farmers is the production of salt using evaporation by solar energy that depends on the weather and the low price, caused by worse business management. Salt is a potential commodity, because its market is still wide open. This research aims to develop the salt production method and development strategy of salt business in Sumenep Regency by using SWOT analysis. The result of the analysis concludes that the priority of salt development business strategy in Sumenep Regency are: i) Geoisolator technology application strategy to produce good quality of salt; ii) cooperation strategy in group mechanism to build power and increasing the bargaining value of the farmers; iii) capital strengthening strategy through partner cooperatives; iv) broader marketing management management strategies to industrial salt user sectors.

Abstrak . Lada merupakan salah satu  tanaman rempah-rempah yang berasal dari tanaman perkebunan yang sangat terkenal dahulu di Aceh. Khususnya Petani lada di Aceh saat ini sudah mulai memperhatikan lada untuk dikembangkan dengan tujuan meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan. Dengan kata lain, Lada menjadi komoditi primadona yang banyak diminati di perdagangan dunia. Karena berbagai negara menggunakan lada ini sebagai bumbu dapur masakan. Disisi lain disebabkan berkembangnya usaha makanan, berkembangnya industri farmasi, kosmetika yang menggunakan lada sebagai salah satu bahan baku, meningkatnya konsumsi dunia, konsumsi dalam negeri semakin meningkat dengan bertambahnya produk-produk industri makanan berbasis lada. Akibat permintaan lada yang tinggi menyebabkan terjadinya masalah bagi petani Aceh dalam keterbatasan produksi lada. Salah satunya lahan pertanian dikonversikan menjadi non pertanian seperti perumahan, gedung dan pertokoan. Sehingga lahan pertanian menjadi berkurang dan menjadi masalah bagi petani lada sendiri dalam mengembangkan lada. Penyebab masalah lain juga yang akibat hama dan penyakit terutama penyakit layu, penyakit keriting daun serta penyakit busuk pangkal batang. Tujuan Penelitian untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang diperhatikan pada pengembangan lada, serta mengetahui strategi pengembangan lada yang tepat. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode studi kasus. Teknik Pengumpulan data digunakan dengan pendekatan wawancara. Hasil analisis  menunjukkan faktor internal yang  mempengaruhi usaha pengembangan lada adalah bibit, pestisida, sumber daya alam, pupuk, dan sumber daya manusia. Sedangkan faktor eksternal yang mempengaruhinya adalah pemerintah, pasar, harga, pesaing, hama dan penyakit. Berdasarkan hasil analisis SWOT didapatkan nilai IFAS (Internal Strategic Factors Analysis Summary)  sebesar 1,756 dan EFAS (Eksternal Strategic Factors Analysis Summary)  sebesar 2,773 berada pada kuadran I , maka  strategi pengembangan yang cocok untuk strategi pengembangan lada adalah  strategi agresif  yang artinya usaha tersebut sangat dimungkinkan untuk terus berkembang, meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan meraih kemajuan secara maksimal, dimana strategi agresif ini merupakan kondisi yang sangat menguntungkan, peluang dan kekuatan begitu besar sehingga pelaku usaha bisa memanfaatkan peluang dan kekuatan yang ada secara maksimal.Strategy of pepper development (case study of indatu farmer group in blang panyang village sub-district estuary one, Lhokseumawe City) Abstract. Pepper is one of the most popular herbs from Aceh plantations. Especially pepper farmers in Aceh are now starting to pay attention to pepper to be developed with the aim of increasing income and welfare. In other words, Pepper became the most popular commodity in the world trade. Because various countries use this pepper as a spice cooking kitchen. On the other hand, due to the development of food business, the development of pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics using pepper as one of the raw materials, the increasing of world consumption, domestic consumption is increasing with the increase of pepper based food industry products. As a result of high pepper demand causes problems for Acehnese farmers in the limitations of pepper production. One of them agricultural land converted into non-agricultural such as housing, buildings and shops. So that agricultural land becomes reduced and become a problem for pepper farmers themselves in developing pepper. Other causes of problems are also caused by pests and diseases, especially wilt disease, leaf curling disease and stem rot disease. Research Objectives to determine the factors that are considered in the development of pepper, as well as to know the appropriate pepper development strategy. The research method used is case study method. Technique Data collection is used with interview approach. The results of the analysis show that the internal factors affecting pepper development are seeds, pesticide, natural resources, fertilizer and human resources. While on external factors that include government, markets,prices, competitors,pest and diseases. Based on the result of SWOT analysis, the value of IFAS (Internal Strategic Factors Analysis Summary) of 1.756 and EFAS (External Strategic Factors Analysis Summary) of 2.773 are in quadrant I, then a suitable development strategy for pepper development strategy is aggressive strategy which means the business is very possible To continue to grow, to increase growth and to achieve maximum progress, where aggressive strategy is a very favorable condition, opportunities and strength so large that business actors can take advantage of opportunities and strengths that exist maximally.

This article aims to analyze the policy strategies implemented for the commercial shipping development of the Apo Dock in Jayapura port to improve port performance towards strengthening the sea highway program. Apo Dock as a shipping commercial in Jayapura port has weaknesses as identified by the observation and the study of primary data. These weaknesses have resulted in price disparities for the Papua province as port functions well as a logistical hub. Based on the Strengthen-Weakness-Opportunity-Threats (SWOT) analysis results, it was concluded that the Apo Dock performance as the Jayapura Port Commercial Route was in quota I with a position (0.83; 1.44). The strategy used by Jayapura port to develop commercial shipping to be more efficient in accordance with its function as the strength-opportunity (SO) strategy. The SO strategy strengthens the commercial shipping function as a support base for the economic development centers and a government supporter in MP3EI, the commercial port facilities and infrastructure development were established in order to support all port activities and efficiency, and develop hinterland areas to maximize the busy and crowded commercial shipping hub.
