Satellite communication is a wireless means of transmission of intelligible signals/information. When properly utilized it will bring about a great and positive development on the economic growth of any nation. The Federal Government of Nigeria made a giant step in the communication sector by launching five satellites into space: NigeriaSat-1, NigComSat- 1, NigeriaSat-2r, NigeriaSat-X and NigComSat-1R. With adequate spatial information, informed decisions can be made by stakeholders and adequate steps taken to ensure the growth of the nation. Demand for training capacity building in space technology is increasing. Unfortunately, space technology is a relatively expensive field with ongoing research for affordable training approaches. This paper presents methods of building capacity by developing Demo Satellites that receive telemetry data with radiofrequency and internet of things communication protocol. Web Dashboard was developed for remote monitoring of ground station and for exploring mobility in data communication, Localization was achieved to also track the Demo Satellites and the ground station in real-time. It is shown that the implementation of a low-cost capacity building programme is not only possible but a goal that should be aimed at. Multiple segments in the design of the schematics produced can be reused. It presents a pioneer satellite constellation prototype that displays the capabilities of a satellite in solving some of the country’s challenges and creating awareness on space research and its trends.

Inter-satellite communication will able to connect two or more satellites directly and hence efficient data transfer is possible with less delay. Choice of frequency is key concern for inter-satellite communication. In this paper, precisely mentioned about importance of millimeter range frequency band for inter-satellite links (ISL) and more focused on the Tapered Slot antenna (TSA) design at 60 GHz. In the design, Substrate Integrated Waveguide SIW feed and corrugation techniques is used to achieve high gain and narrow beam width. Power Divider is used to design two-element TS antenna of 23 dB. For further outlook of antenna design link analysis is also calculated.

Research in millimeter-wave dielectric waveguides is recently experiencing high interest in efficient data communication. Generally, channel interconnect remains a challenge for high- speed links design in satellite communication. This paper presents an analysis of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) interconnect at Ku band owing to its low-cost and efficient throughput. The effect of varying PTFE properties was examined based on the wavelength, propagation constant and attenuation, in other to advise on coating and energy escape outside the Polymer Microwave Fiber (PMF).

Implantable medical devices provide therapy to treat numerous health conditions as well as monitoring and diagnosis. Over the years, the development of these devices has seen remarkable progress thanks to tremendous advances in microelectronics, electrode technology, packaging and signal processing techniques. Many of today’s implantable devices use wireless technology to supply power and provide communication. There are many challenges when creating an implantable device. Issues such as reliable and fast bidirectional data communication, efficient power delivery to the implantable circuits, low noise and low power for the recording part of the system, and delivery of safe stimulation to avoid tissue and electrode damage are some of the challenges faced by the microelectronics circuit designer. This paper provides a review of advances in microelectronics over the last decade or so for implantable medical devices and systems. The focus is on neural recording and stimulation circuits suitable for fabrication in modern silicon process technologies and biotelemetry methods for power and data transfer, with particular emphasis on methods employing radio frequency inductive coupling. The paper concludes by highlighting some of the issues that will drive future research in the field.

AbstractData transfer has been forced to evolve as digital technologies are implemented throughout various aspects of the healthcare system. Despite the uniqueness of both the geography and the population of Queensland, information exchange and data communication has continued to follow this evolutionary trend. There have been a number of different health reforms designed to integrate digital innovations and allow critical data and information to be shared with the appropriate health professionals when necessary. Strict healthcare legislation has been navigated and to provide newly upgraded technologies and processes while maintaining privacy, confidentiality and security standards. A large portion of the digital revolution has been the implementation of the national run project, the My Health Record and the state run project, the Integrated Electronic Medical Record. Both are platforms that allow secure information exchange allowing patients to have improved quality of care. To maintain the steady progress, both the state and federal governments have developed strategies and visions to help provide guidance and direct for ongoing and future digital projects. They also outline areas that require further advancements to ensure Queensland is delivering equitable, high quality healthcare.

AbstractAs one of the largest marathons worldwide, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon (BACCM; Chicago, Illinois USA) accumulates high volumes of data. Race organizers and engaged agencies need the ability to access specific data in real-time. This report details a data visualization system designed for the Chicago Marathon and establishes key principles for event management data visualization. The data visualization system allows for efficient data communication among the organizing agencies of Chicago endurance events. Agencies can observe the progress of the race throughout the day and obtain needed information, such as the number and location of runners on the course and current weather conditions. Implementation of the system can reduce time-consuming, face-to-face interactions between involved agencies by having key data streams in one location, streamlining communications with the purpose of improving race logistics, as well as medical preparedness and response.HankenT, YoungS, SmilowitzK, ChiampasG, WaskowskiD. Developing a data visualization system for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon (Chicago, Illinois USA). Prehosp Disaster Med. 2016;31(5):572–577.

Problems in this study regarding the Effect of Point of Purchase on Unplanned Purchasing Decisions (Effect of In Store Media, Signage, and Display on Unplanned Buying Decisions in Carrefour Tamini Square). The purpose of this study is to prove and find out whether there is an effect of point of purchase either simultaneously or partially on unplanned purchase decisions. The theory used is marketing communication which can be defined as marketing activities using communication techniques that aim to provide information to the audience so that the company's goals are achieved, namely an increase in revenue from the use of services or purchase of products offered. (Kennedy and Soemanegara, 2006: 5). The research method uses surveys for data collection and has the results of using a questionnaire with data processing techniques using SPSS. From the results of the regression equation produced that simultaneously, the point of purchase has a significant influence on unplanned purchase decisions of 67.3 percent and the remaining 32.7 percent is explained by other factors not used as variables in this study. While partially, only signage and displays have a significant influence on unplanned purchasing decisions. In store media does not have a significant influence on unplanned buying decisions. From the results of the study it is recommended that Carrefour Tamini Square improve the quality of signage, because it is the point of purchase dimension that most influences on unplanned buying decisions. Then make a display that follows the trend, or thematic displays with different concepts and tend to be strange or unique, because the more strange and unique a display, the more it will cause consumer curiosity that will be able to end with purchases that were not planned before. Keywords: Point of Purchase; Unplanned Purchasing Decisions. Kata kunci: Point of Purchase; Keputusan Pembelian Tidak Terencana.

<p>Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) are fundamental technology in health care that permits the information of a patient’s essential body parameters to be gathered by the sensors. However, the safety and concealment defense of the gathered information is a key uncertain problem. A Hybrid Key Management (HKM) scheme [13] is worked based on Public Key Cryptography (PKC)-authentication scheme. This scheme uses a oneway hash function to construct a Merkle Tree. The PKC method increase the computational complexity and lacking scalability. Additionally, it increases expensive computation, communication costs and delay. To overcome this problem, Robust Security for Protected Health Information by ECC with signature Hash Function in WBAN (RSP) is proposed. The system employs hash-chain based key signature technique to achieve efficient, secure transmission from sensor to user in WBAN. Moreover, Elliptical Curve Cryptography algorithm is used to verifies the authenticate sensor. In addition, it describes the experimental results of the proposed system demonstrate the efficient data communication in a network.</p>
