The aim of this research are to explain the politeness of directive speech acts and politeness strategy, which supports the effectiveness of the talk show. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data resources are spoken data from three episodes of Satu Jam Lebih Dekat Talk Show on TV One. The technique of data sampling is determined by purposive sampling. The data validation technic in this research is triangulation technic. The result of the research shows that the types of directive speech acts in Satu Jam Lebih Dekat are to please, to request, to ask, to order, to invite, and to forbid. The politeness strategies of Satu Jam Lebih Dekat are bald on record, positive politeness, negative politeness, and off record. The politeness of directive speech acts supports the effectiveness of the talk show because of some factors, such as types of directive speech act and politeness strategy.

<p><em>This study aims to find out the types of directive speech act and politeness strategies</em><em> </em><em>used in Satu Jam Lebih Dekat talk show on TVOne. The method used in this article is descriptive</em><em> </em><em>method which describe the data systematically, factually, and accurately. The uninvolved</em><em> </em><em>conversation observation technique was used in collecting data in which this means that the present</em><em> </em><em>writer does not involve in the dialogues.</em><em> </em><em>Meanwhile, for data analysis technique, the present writer</em><em> </em><em>used pragmatic competence-in-dividing. The main theory of this article is the pragmatic theory of</em><em> </em><em>Searle’s Speech Act and Brown and Levinson’s Politeness Strategy. The results indicate that the types of directive speech act of Satu Jam Lebih Dekat program are to please, to request,</em><em> </em><em>to ask, to</em><em> </em><em>order, to invite, to forbid, to convince, to obligate, to show, to hope, to want, to warn, to advise, and</em><em> </em><em>to request. Language politeness is politeness and subtlety in using language when communicating through oral and written. This research is qualitative research using the descriptive method. This research comes from the form of communication between millennials in the city of Namlea. They communicate using the Indonesian Ambonese dialect, while the type of data obtained in this study in oral speech contains politeness elements in the language. The data obtained through the recording are then analyzed using descriptive methods, namely a picture of the reality obtained from the data obtained. The analysis process is carried out through stages, identifying data and numbering data that contain language politeness. The results found that courtesy in language was; directive speech acts and expressive speech acts. There are four forms of speech acts by the millennial directive of Namlea, Buru, and six states of explicit speech act.

Theis research has a prominet goal, idenitfying types of speech acts uttered by an English teacher at a vocational high school. This work uses Searle’s theory to discover the dominant kinds of speech act employed by the teacher. The researchers also investigated the additional utterances in showing learning movement. The research methodology is descriptive-qualitative research, where the researcher found three kinds of speech act uttered by the teacher; directive, representative, and expressive. The researchers calculated the data finding and found 297 utterances which comprised of 246 directives utterances or 82,83% of overall data, 45 representative utterances or represented the 15.15% of data, and 6 expressive utterances which covered 2,02%. The most obtrusive was directive speech acts (82.83%) and the less frequent was expressive speech act (2.02%). The most obtrusive was directive speech acts because the teacher often used directives (questioning) to handle the students in the classroom and made sure that the students understand the aims of the English material.

AbstrakPenelitian terhadap novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan kesantunan tindak tutur menyuruh pada tokoh protagonis dalam novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye. Data penelitian ini adalah tindak tutur direktif menyuruh pada tokoh protagonis dalam novel tersebut. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara membaca dan memahami novel, mencatat kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat tokoh yang dapat dirumuskan sebagai bagian dari tuturan maupun tindak tutur menyuruh, dan menginventarisasikan data berdasarkan masalah-masalah tindak tutur direktif yang terdapat dalam novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye. Data dianalisis dan dibahas berdasarkan teori pragmatik. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan sembilan tuturan tindak tutur direktif menyuruh, yang menunjukkan bahwa tokoh protagonis dalam novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye cenderung melakukan tindak tutur menyuruh secara santun. Data were collected by understanding the novel, noting down words, phrases, clauses, or sentences that can be formulated as part of speech acts, and making an inventory of the data based on the problems of directive speech acts contained in Tere Liye's novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga. Data were analyzed and based on pragmatic theory. The results of this study shows nine directive ordered speech act utterances, which indicate that the protagonist in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye tends to perform speech acts politely. Language is an essential tool that we use in our daily life. In general, language is used as a tool to convey information. In using language, speakers must pay attention to the language used. Language users should do this to avoid or minimize errors in conveying information to listeners. This study aims to determine what types of speech acts and politeness strategies are used by pre-service teachers when teaching online classes. This research is expected to provide an overview of how speech acts and politeness strategies can affect educational activities. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research was conducted using two steps. The researcher's first step is to observe how preservice teachers use speech act and politeness strategies in online classes. Then the researcher will conduct interviews with research subjects or pre-service teachers to verify the data that has been observed. In conducting this research, the researcher used two theories as to the research foundation. The first theory is Searle's theory of speech act types and Brown and Levinson's theory of politeness strategies. The study found that if pre-service teachers use five types of speech acts, they are representative, directive, commissive, expressive, and directive. This study also found that pre-service teachers used more directive speech acts in teaching online classes than other types of speech acts. In addition to the use of speech acts, this study also found that pre-service teachers also use four politeness strategies in teaching online classes. The four types of politeness strategies are bald-onrecord, positive politeness, negative politeness, and off-record.

Thalibah Arabic language proficiency can be assessed from the speech act process. There are several types of speech acts that can be used, but in this study the type of speech acts used are directive speech acts. This study aims to analyze the form and context of speech contained in the type of directive speech acts used by ustadzah to thalibah in communicating in Arabic. This study uses a qualitative research approach with an interactive model popularized by Miles and Huberman. The data source in this study is the form of speech spoken by the ustadzah and the context of speech produced by the ustadzah after the form of speech is obtained. Data collection techniques in this study were referenced techniques, recording techniques, and note-taking techniques. The results of this study found that directive speech acts that are more dominantly spoken by the ustadzah are governing, asking, and giving advice. The form of speech in the type of directive speech act found includes orders, requests, advice and prohibitions. The context of speech that is found is to rule, tell, instruct, require, request, advise, advise, direct, admonish, and prohibit.

Knowing the type of speech act is very important to understand to see the kind of speech act and its meaning and purpose behind the utterance. The purpose of this study is to describe the types, forms, and meanings or intentions of speech acts in the president's speech related to the handling of the coronavirus, especially with pragmatic studies. The type of research used is qualitative research. This study's data source is the video source contained in the upload of an account on Youtube. The data in this study are all speech acts, which are directive speech acts. The data collection techniques used are recording, observation, observation, and note-taking. The results showed: first, the directive speech acts consist of speech acts by asking, inviting, pleading, ordering, and prohibiting. Second, the speech act is in the form of an oral form, an utterance uttered by the president in his speech regarding the coronavirus's handling, which tends to be qualitative. Third, the purpose of this directive speech act has several meanings, namely to influence, invite, something, tell or explain something, expect attention, forbid, praise, criticize, and as a form of channeling complaints.

This research was based on the politeness in speech acts at traditional ceremonies for Tolaki-Mekongga ethnic group as native ethnic in the mainland of Southeast Sulawesi province. In traditional wedding procession, it was known as Tolea-pabitara (spokesman), both Tolea-pabitara represented the family of the bridegroom, and Tolea pabitara represented the woman's family. The competence of politeness in speech act at the traditional procession to the continuity of interaction was crucial and was the responsibility of Tolea-pabitara. The problem in this research was how the use of directive speech acts of Tolea pabitara as politeness strategies in a traditional wedding ceremony of Tolaki-Mekongga ethnic group in Southeast Sulawesi. There were two objectives in this research. The first was to describe strategies of Tolea pabitara in using directive speech acts as a strategy of politeness in a traditional wedding ceremony of Tolaki-Mekongga ethnic that reside in mainland of Southeast Sulawesi. The second was to describe the types of directive speech acts that were used by Tolea pabitara in the traditional wedding ceremony of Tolaki-Mekongga ethnic group in Southeast Sulawesi.

This research studies about directive speech acts in Big Hero 6 movie. The objectives of this research are to know the kinds of directive speech acts and the kinds of politeness strategies. The researcher takes the data from the movie entitled Big Hero 6. This research is a qualitative research by employing descriptive method. The result tends to focus on the deep meaning of the dialogue’s quality rather than the quantity of number. The data of this research are taken from directive speech acts in dialogues in the movie. The instrument of this research is the reseacher herself who collects, analyzes, and presents the data findings of the researchthen draw the conclusion. The researcher applied the trustworthiness of the data to obtain the valid data. The result of the analysis shows four kinds of directive speech acts uttered in Big Hero 6 movie. There are 34 data (42.5%) belongs to ordering,21 data (26.25%) belong to request,20 data  (25%) belong to asking,5 data (6.25%) belong to suggesting. The kinds of politeness strategies in Big Hero 6 movie are positive politeness strategy and bald on record strategy. There are 26 data (32.5%) belongs to the positive politeness strategy,54 data (67.5%) belong to bald on record strategy.

Abstrak— Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan jenis dan fungsi tindak tutur direktif yang digunakan pedagang asongan pada Kapal Motor Penyeberangan (KMP) di Pelabuhan Ulee Lheue Banda Aceh dalam interaksinya dengan pembeli. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik rekam dan catat. Data diolah dengan langkah mengidentifikasi data, mengklasifikasi data, menganalisis data, dan menyimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) Jenis tindak tutur direktif yang terdapat pada interaksi jual-beli pedagang asongan pada Kapal Motor Penyeberangan (KMP) di Pelabuhan Ulee Lheue Banda Aceh meliputi: jenis pertanyaan (questions), permintaan (requstives), larangan (prohibitive), pemberian izin (permissives), desakan dan saran, (2) Fungsi tindak tutur direktif yang ditemukan dalam interaksi jual-beli pedagang asongan pada Kapal Motor Penyeberangan (KMP) di Pelabuhan Ulee Lheue Banda Aceh sebanyak enam fungsi tindak tutur direktif. Fungsi tindak tutur direktif yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini meliputi: delapan fungsi bertanya, satu fungsi memohon, dua fungsi melarang, tiga fungsi mendesak, satu fungsi membolehkan, dan dua fungsi menyarankan. Kata Kunci: Tindak Tutur Direktif, Interaksi Jual Beli. Abstract— This study aims to describe the type and function of directive speech acts used by hawkers in Motorized Crossing Ships (KMP) in Ulee Lheue Port, Banda Aceh, in their interactions with buyers. This research includes the type of qualitative research using a descriptive-qualitative approach. Data collection is done by recording and recording techniques. Data is processed by step identifying data, classifying data, analyzing data, and concluding. The results of the study show that, (1) the type of directive speech acts that occur in the interaction of selling and buying peddlers at the Crossing Motorboat (KMP) at Ulee Lheue Port in Banda Aceh include: questions, requests (requstives), prohibitions (prohibitive ), permissives, pressures and suggestions, (2) The directive function of speech acts found in the interaction of the sale and purchase of hawkers at the Crossing Motorboat (KMP) at Ulee Lheue Port in Banda Aceh is six directive speech acts. The directive speech act functions found in this study include: eight question functions, one invoking function, two prohibiting functions, three urgent functions, one function allows, and two functions suggest.
