Today, Spain is an advanced country in the field of sport for people with disabilities. Thanks to social movement led by National Blind Organization (ONCE) since the mid-80s, the Paralympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, the birth of the Spanish Paralympic Committee in 1995 and the Paralympic Sport Support Plan (ADOP) by the Government, Spain is a Paralympic power and many athletes with disabilities are socially known and admired people. However, there are yet situations of social and economic discrimination. Surely the media have powerfully influenced for improve the image of these athletes with disabilities, but still they use to give the sport for people with disabilities much less coverage than they give to other sports. From a sociological point of view, the study of sport is consolidating as a scientific area and in recent decades it has highlighted the connections between sport and society in various fields. In particular, sport for people with disabilities has become one of the areas that has evolved, especially in relation to their physical, psychological and social benefits. However, the study area relating adapted sports and mass communication is poorly developed in Spain and the references are still sporadic. The aim of this article is to show the current state of studies on sport for people with disabilities from the point of view of sociology and communication sciences in Spain, as well as the relevance of deepening these studies to achieve understanding and, as far as possible, improve the situation of these people.

There are claims that the Paralympic Games (PG) might contribute to a better world for people with disabilities (PWD). However, there are also claims that the PG might in fact be counterproductive to the PWD’s rights movement because they might promote the medical model of disability and/or ableism. In this context, we developed a qualitative exploratory study to investigate the legacies of the Rio 2016 PG from the perspective of disability rights activists and people involved in Paralympic sport managerial positions. In this article, we discuss one of the main perceived legacies that the PG fostered PWD’s visibility and a change in society’s perception of PWD. We conducted 24 open in-depth interviews and found that, for our participants, the PG worked as a showcase for PWD who were rarely seen in the media and in public spaces before the Games. This visibility helped to challenge negative stereotypes and stigmas associated with PWD, as well as possibly opening new doors for them. Our interviewees believe that we shouldn’t expect that the PG alone can change people’s perceptions and PWD’s status overnight. They are part of a larger and complex set of actions that are slowly contributing to this process.

Using a medical mask is one of the ways to prevent the spread of respiratory infections, including COVID-19. The willingness to use the mask in different countries depends on a number of factors – epidemiological experience, cultural norms and attitudes, economic and political conditions, public awareness, etc. The purpose of this study is to analyze the first reaction of the population to prescriptions or recommendations of authorities to use medical masks as a means of personal protection during COVID-19 in different countries. We used methods of semi-structured in-depth interviews, questionnaires, photo-fixation of elements of people's behavior during the pandemic, content analysis of the media. In total, 366 questionnaires were collected (51 males and 315 females) among Russian-speaking people who were living or staying abroad at the time of the outbreak and spreading of COVID-19, as well as among Russians from different regions of Russia since March 23 to April 10, 2020. An analysis of the data showed that the willingness to use a mask depends on the country of residence of the respondent, gender, social distance and trust in the authorities. The results of the study demonstrate the effect of official decisions on the real behavior of people – the more serious are measures on the part of the government, the more responsible are people about preventive measures and the better they implement them. The results were interpreted from the point of view of “Individualism-Collectivism” dichotomous classification of cultures. These results are the first step of the study and reveal the first stage of people's response to the restrictions. Understanding of socio-cultural and ethnic circumstances of population’s perception and implementation of sanitary-hygienic prescriptions can be used in choosing the most optimal ways of warning and developing efficient methods to encourage the population to adhere to restrictions.

This paper contains a set of personal views relating to NHS Connecting for Health's National Programme for IT (NPfIT), and in particular its Care Records Service, written from the point of view of a computer scientist, not a medical informatics expert. The principal points made are as follows: Centralisation: Pulling lots of data together (for individual patients and then for large patient populations) harms safety and privacy – it is one byproduct of excessive use of identification when in fact all that is usually needed is authentication. Large centralized data storage facilities can be useful for reliability, but risk exchanging lots of small failures for a lesser number of much larger failures. A much more decentralised approach to electronic patient record (EPR) data and its storage should be investigated. Evolutionary acquisition: Specifying, implementing, deploying and evaluating a sequence of ever more complete IT systems is the best way of ending up with well-accepted and well-trusted systems – especially when this process is controlled by the stakeholders who are most directly involved, rather than by some distant central bureaucracy. Thus authority as well as responsibility should be left with hospital and general practitioner trusts to acquire IT systems that suit their environments and priorities – subject to adherence to minimal interoperability constraints – and to use centralized services (e.g., for system support and back-up) as if and when they choose. Socio-technical issues: Ill-chosen imposed medical IT systems impede patient care, are resisted, result in lots of accidental faults, and lose user support and trust. All these points are attested to by rigorous studies involving expertise from the social sciences (psychology, ethnography, etc.) as well as by technical (medical and computer) experts – much more attention needs to be paid to such studies, and more such studies encouraged. Constructive reviews: A constructive expert review, working closely with Connecting for Health, could be very helpful, but should be evidently independent and open and thus essentially different in nature to past and current inquiries. A review of this nature could not just recommend appropriate changes of plan, and speed progress. It could also contribute to the vital task of helping to restore the trust and confidence of the public and the media in the programme and in the government officials involved.

The article discusses the features of media construction of a social problem by the Russian media on the example of the case of “death groups” (2015–2017) in the context of the influence of post-truth society on mass communication. The analysis reveals factors that form the misstatement in vision of a social problem; an analogy is drawn with the spread of fake news in the media. Special attention is paid to the role of the government in the media construction of the social problem of “death groups” and its ideological content. Based on the study, it is concluded that in post-truth society, media construction of a social problem proceeds with an emotional, uncritical perception of false, ideologically sharpened information. The gathered facts show a dismatch between the media representation of “death groups” and their real social sense.

The article raises the problems of modern journalism, denotes such concepts as mass communication, media, media criticism. In the authors' opinion, media criticism is an invitation to the reader to a discussion, an open conversation, an appeal to pressing socio-political problems, publication of an alternative opinion that is necessary for any free society. Media criticism acts as a science, where both analysis, synthesis and forecast are present. The social importance of media criticism is underlined. It is noted that mass media criticism is no less important than professional media criticism. According to the authors, non-professionals in journalism can act from critical positions and are quite professional in relation to the media, for example, sociologists, economists, politicians. The authors analyze the current state of critical analytics in various media and communication. In detail, the research is undertaken with respect to the journal «Journalist» and «Novaya Gazeta», which present various aspects of media analysis. The authors tried to find out what has changed in journalism over the past few years? What is the status of journalistic criticism today? On the basis of the analysis, conclusions were drawn that the publications in «Novaya Gazeta» can be attributed to professional criticism, since the authors themselves are a representative of the journalistic profession. On the other hand, the media criticism of «Novaya Gazeta» can be called mass, since it is addressed to civil society. An example of professional criticism is, with full justification, the publications of the journal «Journalist», since academic criticism presupposes a scientific analysis based on theoretical comprehension, the ability to correlate social problems with their reflection in media products.

Purpose: the purpose of this study is to examine the current state of Japan's digital transformation, with a focus on the banking sector, analyzing specifc examples, identifying obstacles that hinder the achievement of expected results.Methods: the article is based on the analysis of scientifc and analytical materials devoted to the problem of research, a set of general scientific methods is applied, including comparison, scientifc generalization, analogy, etc.Results: the article presents the main trends and current results of digitalization of Japanese banks, provides examples of projects, identifies problematic areas of the implemented policy. A hypothesis is put forward about the key role of the government in the development of new standards for the organization of work, taking into account the use of innovative technologies. For Japan, digitalization is chosen as a key tool to mitigate the current socio-economic situation. Digitalization is already being implemented in the healthcare sector, agriculture, etc. Another sector at the center of digitalization is the fnancial one. Financial technologies form new markets and products. Non-banking companies penetrate into the areas occupied by classical banks, competing and even displacing them.These processes are observed both in Japan and in other countries of the world, including Russia. Therefore, studying the Japanese experience of integrating digital technologies into the fnancial sector is important. Although Russia is among the leaders in the digitalization of the financial sector, it is difcult for fntech companies to break into the Russian market due to pressure from large classical banks, as well as the lack of trust in fntech companies from the population.Conclusions and Relevance: in contrast to the manufacturing sector, digitalization of non-manufacturing areas is slower in Japan. This is due to a shortage of qualifed personnel, fnancial risks, etc. Today, the priority for fnancial institutions remains to create the basis for the introduction of digitalization and improve management efciency. From the point of view of ensuring the stability of the fnancial system, it is expected that the Bank of Japan, together with the government, will encourage initiatives in the feld of fnancial development.

The article is devoted to the Internet blogs of political sphere. It is revealed that the main sphere of the formation and functioning of the new phraseology is the media style in the genre of the blog. The blog is considered as a mean of creating a specific author’s reality, which should be in line with the general public opinion. The Internet resource «Ukrainska Pravda» is analyzed from the point of view of the fullness of communicative tactics, verbalizers of which are phraseological innovations. Of course, new phraseological constructions are understood as not yet registered elements. They are understood as new combinations of words which refer to contemporary realities, phenomena and trends. Also new phraseological constructions can develop new, previously unregistered meanings. Therefore, they most clearly illustrate the current state of the development of Ukrainian society. Much attention is paid to the means of creating new phraseological constructions through contextual analysis. Internet blogs show that such communication tactics as prosecution tactics, tactics of positive self-presentation, tactics of negative representation of the addressee, tactics of irony, tactics of hanging labels and tactics of openness are often used by authors to demonstrate their own thoughts about events in society. As the material testifies, new phraseological constructions, such as the verbalizers of the aforementioned tactics used by bloggers in their texts entirely depend on the contextual content of the material. They represent the main position of the author’s blog of the political sphere. It is noted that new phraseological constructions give communicative tactics greater expressiveness and appreciation (using, for example, quotes in blogs for creating more persuasive influence on the focus audience). It is also established that all analyzed communicative tactics acquire a negative axiological semantics and mark the author’s attitude towards a particular political person or event.

The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, adopted by the United Nations on December 13, 2006, signed by the Government of Poland on March 20, 2007, and ratified on September 6, 2012, obliges to respect all the provisions contained in this document, including those concerning access to universal education, the labour market and employment. However, from a practical point of view, there are many barriers and problems experienced by different environments of people with disabilities in the enforcement of their rights. Hence, the article includes the opinions of representatives of the deaf and blind people on current restrictions and discrimination, as well as proposals addressed to the education and work and employment spheres of those participating in the debates organized under the project „Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities – a common cause”, the main contractor of which is the Polish Forum of People with Disabilities.

This study discusses how online media Okezone.com and Viva.co.id frame the news of the Moving of the Indonesian Capital. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative using framing theory. The method used is the Zhongdan Pan and Gerald M. Kosick Model. The model analyzes with four structures namely Syntax (title, lead, background information, source and closing quotes) Scripts (completeness of 5W + 1H news items), Thematic (paragraph propositions between sentences) and Rhetorical (words, idioms, pictures/photographs). This study uses document study data collection techniques originating from uploads of both online media in July-September 2019 related to the Moving of the Indonesian Capital so that six news were collected that were examined as a data analysis unit in this study. The findings obtained from the syntactic structure of the two media use the opposite title, whereby the background information used by Okezone.com is more to the government while Viva.co.id is more to the public. In the structure of the script Okezone.com fulfills the news element, but the resource persons chosen are only one point of view, while Viva.co.id has not fulfilled the news element in the third news. In the thematic structure the two media differ in highlighting their contents even with the same theme. For the rhetorical element, the use of images in both media is sufficient to explain the contents of the news. It is hoped that further research can emphasize media ideology in framing an event. In addition, the media can also display more than one resource so that it can be seen from various points of view. The community itself is expected to dig deeper information by not only from one media.

The greatest minds of antiquity laid the foundation for the science of persuasion, that is, an ability to persuade the listener to a given point of view. The sophists were particularly successful in this. The works of the classics show how complex the process of persuasion is. To convince means to make you believe that you are right. The relevance of the study of this topic is due to the rapidly increasing influence of the media on the modern society formation and management of the masses. Taking into account a fairly large number of publications, the problem is not studied in detail, despite the fact that technologies are rapidly developing. The steady interest of researchers in this problem is determined by its significance in society. The object of the study is manipulation in management. The subject of the study is media techniques as a tool for mass management. Method of argumentation is citation of references. The objectives of the study are to characterize the manipulative techniques of the media; describe management technologies; classify manipulation tools. The purpose of the study is to scientifically substantiate the effectiveness of using manipulative media technologies as a management tools and to consider the practical implementation’s forms of this phenomenon. The research methodology is based on the principle of objectivity, universal connection and development. Research methods. The research was based on traditional general scientific methods; methods of induction, deduction, and interpretation have been actively used. Conclusion. Manipulation appears as a socio-psychological phenomenon aimed at a person. At the same time, the tools of manipulation are ideas, forms, techniques, and methods. Manipulative influence in the framework of mass communication takes the form of commercial and political propaganda. The media sets the tone in public discussions and disputes. The influence of mass media on the modern society functioning is rapidly increasing. Manipulative technologies used to influence public consciousness are very diverse. They provide a great variety of opportunities for the formation and strengthening of values, attitudes, and behaviors. For the purposes of communicative influence, the media actively use traditional technologies and create new ones that allow opening up great opportunities for manipulation. This phenomenon is the object of the scientists’ close attention. It is concluded that the media use a wide range of manipulative technologies: both traditional and innovative. They allow you to influence both the individual and the society as a whole in order to control the public consciousness and introduction of specified behaviors into it. The development of manipulative media techniques allows the authorities to introduce the necessary attitudes to the masses
