This study analyzed the relation between scientific research self-efficacy and metacognitive thinking skills of prospective teachers. Hence this study was executed in relational screening method. The findings of our study unveiled that a significant relation existed between Metacognition thinking subskill domains and scientific research self-efficacy. Accordingly thinking, problem solving, decision making and alternative evaluation skills explained approximately 27% of the score variance of scientific research self-efficacy. In this study three models devised on the principle of structural equation model were tested. It was concluded at the end of this study that decision-making skills played a mediator role between thinking skills and conclusion and discussion skills. Further to that it was identified that thinking skills played a mediator role between literature skills and problem-solving skills. Lastly it was identified that thinking skills played a mediator role between problem solving and conclusion and discussion skills.

Vocational education is no longer just an education that prepares its graduates to work or become mediocre workers. Creative thinking skills are the basis of science that is very important for students. This research uses a quantitative approach and the population of this study included 106 Cadets of The School of Aviators in Indonesia. Sampling techniques taken were saturated sampling techniques and the samples were taken as many as 106 cadets. Data analysis techniques used were Structural Equation Model (SEM) with AMOS help (Analysis of Moment Structures) program. The results of this study show that critical thinking has a significant effect on decision making.

We examined the impacts of emotional intelligence and self-leadership on coping with stress, and assessing the mediating roles that positive affect and self-efficacy play in this process. Participants were 575 students at 2 Chinese universities, who completed measures of coping with stress, self-leadership, emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and positive affect. The structural equation model analysis results indicated that self-efficacy fully mediated the relationship between emotional intelligence and active coping, as we had predicted. Further, self-leadership had a direct effect on active coping. However, positive affect and self-efficacy did not mediate the relationship between self-leadership and coping with stress. Implications are discussed in terms of theoretical contributions and interventions for coping with stress.

Background: The beneficial relationship between physical fitness and cognitive performance is affected and modulated by a wide diversity of factors that seem to be more sensitive during the development stage, particularly during early adolescence. This study aimed to examine the role of physical fitness considering the multivariate association between age, health-related quality of life (HRQOL), school vulnerability index (SVI), body mass index z-score (BMIz), physical activity, and sleep problems with the cognitive performance in boys and girls.Method: Participants were 1,196 adolescents aged 10–14 years (50.7% of boys) from Chile. Three physical fitness components and eight cognitive tasks were measured. BMIz was determined using growth references by age and sex, whereas questionaries were used to assess sleep problems, physical activity, and HRQOL. SVI was established according to the score given by the Chilean Government to educational establishments. We performed a structural equation model (SEM) to test multivariate associations among study' variables by sex. Results: Fitness was positively associated with boys' and girls' cognitive performance (β = 0.23 and β = 0.17; p = 0.001, respectively). Moreover, fitness presented a significant mediator role in the relationships between BMIz, SVI, and physical activity with cognitive performance (indirect effect). Additionally, SVI showed a negative association both direct and indirect effect in all three fitness components and all cognitive tasks, being this relationship stronger in girls than in boys. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that physical fitness and all its components play a crucial mediator role in the associations between several factors associated with adolescents' cognitive performance. Thereby, educational and health strategies should prioritise improving physical fitness through physical activity. They also should address other factors such as school vulnerability, obesity, and the early gender gap in a comprehensive approach boosting cognitive performance among early adolescents.Trial registration: Research Registry (ID: researchregistry5791).

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to investigate whether the way managers make decisions (their decision-making style—DMS) predicts their entrepreneurial intentions (EI), a research subject that has been largely ignored in the literature. Developing an understanding of entrepreneurial intention factors that attract managers to entrepreneurship is indispensable for organizations. A sample of 230 managers of companies based in Kosovo was asked to take the entrepreneurial intention questionnaire and the General Decision-Making Style (GDMS) questionnaire. Bridging two strands of literature on decision-making and entrepreneurial intention and using the Structural Equation Model (SEM), it is concluded that spontaneous and intuitive styles predict managers’ entrepreneurial intentions. Considering the limitations of this single-country study, the implications for theory and policy are discussed.

Abstract Background Considering the High Blood Pressure-Health Literacy (HBP-HL) has not been included in the study of Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL). The synergistic effects and the potential mechanism HBP-HL, self-management behavior, medication adherence, self-efficacy, social support on HRQoL remain unclear. This study aimed to introduce the conception of HBP-HL, and develop a structural equation model to identify the factors influencing of the HRQoL among Kazakh hypertensive patients. Methods A cross-sectional investigation study was conducted to collect data. Patients with hypertension were recruited through random cluster sampling in Kazakh settlements in Urumqi County, Xinjiang. The one-on-one household interviews were conducted by Kazakh investigators. The questionnaires regarding HBP-HL, HRQoL, self-management behavior, medication adherence, self-efficacy, and social support were collected. In addition, the results of physical examination were also included. A structural equation model was used to assess the association between the measured factors and HRQoL. Results 516 Kazakh patients were recruited, and 94.4% of them had a relatively low HBP-HL score. The mean standardized scores of HRQoL, self-management, medication adherence were poor; they were 63.5, 66.2, and 64.4, respectively. But 96.1% and 98.3% of the participants had high levels of self-efficacy and social support. The structural equation model of the HRQoL had a good overall fit (χ2/df = 2.078, AGFI = 0.944, GFI = 0.968, CFI = 0.947, IFI = 0.949, RMSEA = 0.046). The model indicated that the HBP-HL has the highest correlation with HRQoL, following with self-management behavior, social support, and self-efficacy. Conclusions Evidence from this study demonstrates that low HBP-HL is a major influenced factor of HRQoL among Kazakh hypertensive patients. Future programs should consider HBP-HL as the breakthrough point when designing targeting intervention strategies for Kazakh hypertension patients. Firstly, researchers should give a priority to evaluate patient’s HBP-HL before intervention. Next, tailored interventions are implemented for patients, and and ultimately it will contribute to control blood pressure and improve patients’ HRQoL.
