This book studies the documentary impulse that plays a central role in twentieth-century French literature. Focusing on nonfiction narratives, it analyzes the use of documents—pieces of textual or visual evidence incorporated into the literary work to relay and interrogate reality. It traces the emergence of an enduring concern with factual reference in texts that engage with current events or the historical archive. Writers idealize the document as a fragment of raw reality, but also reveal its constructed and mediated nature and integrate it as a voice within a larger composition. This ambivalent documentary imagination, present in works by Gide, Breton, Aragon, Yourcenar, Duras, and Modiano (among others), shapes the relationship of literature to visual media, testimonial discourses, and self-representation. Far from turning away from realism in the twentieth century, French literature often turns to the document as a site of both modernist experiment and engagement with the world.

Literary work tries to describe human life, not only in relation to other humans, but also in relation to itself through the relationship of inner events. One form of literary work is novel. The birth of the novel is the creative result of the author in processing a story about life complete with various conflicts in it. Because this research is intended as a study of literary psychology to achieve the psychological aspects of the main character in the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis, what will be put forward is the structure of the story which is closely related to the psychological exposure of the main character. The story structure is the characters and characterizations. As well as the story setting. Qualitative method. Namely, research procedures that produce qualitative descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behavior. How as much data as possible will be able to become the subject of research depends on the use of research techniques. While the approach is a literary assessment perspective. The approach is the scope of literary research. The form, content, and nature of literature as the subject of study. Until now, it seems that in literary research there is often confusion between the use of the terms method, technique and approach. As a result, there are overlapping areas of literary research. The method should involve the operational means of research. The method requires research steps that are worth following. The research results found by the researcher were in the form of the character of the main character and psychological conflicts in Khilma Anis' novel Hati Suhita. Suhita's character is good, tawadhu, smart. Al Birruni is firm, easy to change. Rengganis beautiful, smart. Aruna is good, cheerful. Kang Dharma is calm, mature. And the psychological conflict of Suhita's character is sad. Al Birruni didn't have the heart, Rengganis knew himself, Aruna was sad, and Kang Dharma was calm. In connection with conducting the research, the writer suggests that: first, literary reviewers are advised to examine more deeply the implicit and explicit values in Khilma Anis' novel Hati Suhita, because then we as readers can understand the author's message and his work in totality.

Literary work, especially film, gives life a lot of inspiration. Movie makes the reader aware that the story that happens in a movie is a reflection of a real life. The first major theme of the book is introduced. This is that science does not present a ladder or tower of explanation, but a network of mutually interacting and informing ideas. The digital computer is invoked to introduce the concept of low-level and high-level language. The role of symmetry and symmetry principles in physics is discussed at length. It is argued, in agreement with Anderson, that symmetry is central to fundamental physics, but, more importantly, it is shown that what symmetry offers is a subtle constraining influence that is not the same as cause and effect, but is nevertheless central to the concept of explanation and understanding. It is argued that the laws of thermodynamics and the laws of particle physics are in a relationship of mutual consistency with neither able to render the other superfluous. Numerous examples are invoked.

The Latvian writer Gunars Janovskis (1916–2000) lived a long life, becoming the most productive Latvian exile prose writer not only in Great Britain but the whole Latvian exile community. Everything he saw, experienced, observed, and noticed in some way, was echoed in his literary work. Janovskis’ voluminous work offers diverse interpretation and analysis opportunities for a researcher of literature. The present article focuses on two of Janovskis’ prose texts – his novels “Sōla” (1963) and “Pilsēta pie upes” (‘A Town by the River’, 1992), belonging to different stages of the writer’s activity, as well as his life. For the literary characters depicted by Janovskis, it is vital to remember, avoid losing the past while they attempt to live in the present, though this may be rather hard at times. It has been commented regarding the works of Janovskis that in his books, people only are really living when they are remembering. The present article aims to view the aforementioned novels by Janovskis within the model of the relationship between the past and the present, mainly concentrating on the relationship of the main characters with the time. The novel “Sōla” is the first novel by Janovskis ever published in a book. The main protagonist is Arturs Skuja, returning to some past impressions alongside the present from time to time. The landscape and elements of nature bring back his memories, inviting comparisons with the things once seen in Bolderāja or Daugavgrīva. There is a second and much heavier layer of the past in the protagonist’s dramatic and even tragic experiences during the war, which haunt him during sleepless nights or even return like a ghost. The main tense of the story within this novel is the present. But the novel “Pilsēta pie upes”, written much later, shows a shift of accent. The story starts in the present reality – at the old people’s home “Straumēni”. The urge of the author to tell the life story of Ansis Klētnieks is obvious, but in this story, one can unmistakably recognise the reflections of the author himself, through the location depicted (there are clear parallels between the course of life of Ansis from Krustpils and that of the author). The urge to tell, testify, not remain silent is much more pronounced in the story. The author has become less ambiguously involved in documenting a dramatic era, being its eyewitness. The novels chosen for the present article mark the changes in the relationship of the Janovskis’ literary characters with the present and the past. While the narrative in the present basically dominates in the novel “Sōla”, the other novel, “Pilsēta pie upes”, shows the past events and narrative dominating over the present. In both works, the plot takes place in both Great Britain and Latvia, though with changing intensity. It can be concluded that for Gunars, Janovskis writing was a kind of therapy aimed at overcoming the past while still securing the memories from being lost.

The article considers a systematic approach to modeling the composition and relationship of elements of the structure of the service production complex and their interaction, due to the unity of goals and functions performed by them. When solving these problems, the main problem is choosing the best solution. The article implements a method based on constructing sufficiently adequate mathematical models of real objects and their functioning processes and comparing the results of research of these models.

This study deals with the relationship between memory and space in Peyami Safa's novels. Literary texts are a field of memories by means of imagination or directly from life itself. The author, who can only imagine what he has experienced, takes advantage of memory while writing his text. Therefore, literature constitutes an important resource for studies related to memory. The concept of space that indicates a place where memory is held is an important research object of this study. Because memories, knowledge, experience and life experiences that make an impression in memory always take place in a space. For this, space, besides being a concept that supports memory, actually has a memory itself. Memory spaces emerge as a result of this approach. Memory spaces have a great influence on the formation of social identity. This study also tries to reveal how the memory-space relationship constructs the concept of "identity". Identities which are laid foundation with the world of thought of the society from which the individual comes gain continuity through the memory space. Fatih Harbiye, Peyami Safa’s novel, is a literary work that reflects the east-west, new-old and modern-tradition dualities and reveals the concept of identity in the light of these dualities. This study examines how the relationship between memory and space constructs an identity in Fatih Harbiye's novel. In this study, which draws attention to the direct relationship of memory and space in the shaping of psychological life, the novel Dokuzuncu Hariciye Koğuşu – Ninth Surgical Ward- is an important example for the relationship between personal memory and space.
