Kondisi kesehatan vegetasi mangrove yang berada di daratan dan pulau – pulau kecil sangat penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem pesisir dan laut. Perbedaan kondisi tumbuh mangrove dapat mempengaruhi dinamika perubahan vegetasi dan tutupan kanopi mangrove. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur, komposisi dan tutupan kanopi mangrove di Perairan Bakauheni, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif. Penentuan titik atau stasiun sampling dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Metode pengambilan data vegetasi mangrove dengan metode plot sampling dan pengambilan data tutupan kanopi mangrove dengan metode hemispherical photography. Penelitian ini dilakukan di 4 lokasi yaitu Desa Kramat (DK), Desa Muara Bakau (DMB), Pulau Rimau Balak (PRB), dan Pulau Kandang Balak (PKB) yang terdiri dari 4 stasiun penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kawasan Perairan Bakauheni yang terdiri dari 4 lokasi peneltiian ditemukan 14 spesies mangrove di dalam plot dan di luar plot penelitian. Nilai Kerapatan mangrove berkisar 966–1634 ind/ha. Nilai Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) dan Keseragaman (J’) di lokasi penelitian termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Hasil persentase tutupan kanopi mangrove termasuk kategori padat berkisar 72,04±13,18% – 86,41±1,08%. The health condition of mangrove vegetation on land and small islands is very important in maintaining the balance of coastal and marine ecosystems. Differences in mangrove area conditions can affect the dynamics of changes in vegetation and mangrove canopy cover. This study aims to analyze the structure, composition and cover of mangrove canopies in Bakauheni Waters, South Lampung Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Determination of the point or sampling station using purposive sampling method. The method of collecting mangrove vegetation data using plot sampling method and mangrove canopy cover data collection using hemispherical photography method. This research was conducted in 4 locations, namely Kramat Village (DK), Muara Bakau Village (DMB), Rimau Balak Island (PRB), and Kandang Balak Island (PKB) consisting of 4 research stations. The results showed that the Bakauheni Waters area which consisted of 4 research sites found 14 mangrove species inside the plot and outside the research plot. Mangrove density values range from 966-1634 ind/ha. The value of Diversity Index (H') and Uniformity (J') in the study location is included in the low category. The percentage yield of mangrove canopy cover including the dense category ranges 72.04±13.18% - 86.41±1.08%.

ABSTRAK: Ekosistem mangrove merupakan ekosistem yang tumbuh di daerah bersalinitas cukup tinggi yang memiliki kemampuan adaptasi di daerah intertidal. Sumber nutrien mangrove didapatkan salah satunya dari serasah mangrove. Banyak sedikitnya serasah mangrove dipengaruhi oleh kerapatan dan tutupan kanopi mangrove. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis persentase tutupan kanopi mangrove di Desa Betahwalang. Metode deskriptif adalah metode yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini. Stasiun lokasi penelitian ditentukan menggunakan purposive sampling. Mengetahui tutupan kanopi mangrove digunakan metode Hemispherical Photography. Metode Hemispherical Photographyadalah metode dengan menghitung luasan tutupan kanopi dengan menggunakan kamera dari bawah kanopi pohon. Metode ini menghasilkan data yang lebih akurat dikarenakan luas wilayah yang ditangkap dengan kamera lebih spesifik sehingga menggambarkan tutupan kanopi pohon sesungguhnya. Pengambilan data tutupan kanopi mangrove menggunakan metode Hemispherical Photography menggunakan kamera depan handphone OPPO F1 dengan resolusi kamera 8 megapixel dengan resolusi HD (1.280x720) pada suatu titik pengambilan foto. Teknik ini digunakan dalam plot 10x10 m dan dianalisis menggunakan software Ms. excel 2013 dan Image J. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan 12 spesies mangrove, 5 diantaranya terdapat di dalam plot pengambilan data. Spesies mangrove yang ditemukan di dalam plot yaituRhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina dan Sonneratia caseolaris. Nilai kerapatan yang didapatkan berkisar 1.066–3.066 ind/ha dan nilai tutupan kanopi mangrove sebesar 81,07% yang tergolong kedalam kategori padat. ABSTRACT: Mangrove ecosystems is that ecosystems grow in areas of high enough salinity that have the ability to adapt in intertidal zone. Mangrove nutrient obainted form litter mangrove. Litter mangrove was affected by the density and canopy cover mangrove. The purposes of this research is to analyzedmangrove canopy cover in Betahwalang, Demak. Descriptive method is the method chosen in this study. Sampling station was designated used purposive sampling methodand mangrove canopy cover was determined using hemispherical photography method.The method was basically calculatingthe extent of canopy cover by using camera positionedunder a trees canopy. This method believed to be relatively accurate on determining the actual cover area since the area captured by  camera are precisely specificbecause of an area captured by the camera more specific sodescribe the actual tree canopy cover. Retrieval of canopy cover data used hemispherical photography method used the mobile phone front camera with 8 megapixel camera resolution with HD resolution (1.280 x 720) at a point of taked photos. This method used in 10m x 10m plot and analyzed used software Ms.excel 2013 and Image J.The research found12 mangrove species, 5 in the plot. Mangrove species in the plot mean Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina dan Sonneratia caseolaris. Density have ranged 1.066- 3.066 ind/ha and canopy covercover of trees canopy and so classified as dense canopy cover of 81.07% were classified into solid categories.

Komunitas mangrove menempati area diantara darat dan laut yang memiliki kondisi lingkungan berbeda satu sama lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui struktur vegetasi mangrove dan mengetahui kesesuaian jenis mangrove yang sesuai untuk perencanaan program rehabilitasi mangrove di Desa Bayeman Kecamatan Tongas dan Desa Pesisir Kecamatan Sumberasih Kabupaten Probolinggo. Penelitian dilakukan pada Bulan Maret 2015 sampai Januari 2016. Pengambilan data vegetasi dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling dan setiap transek dibuat plot sampling. Setiap individu pohon (plot 10 m x 10 m) dan sapling (anakan) (subplot 5 m x 5 m) diidentifikasi dan diukur diameternya setinggi dada (±1,3 m). Sementara seedling (semai) dihitung jumlah masing-masing spesies dan persentase penutupannya (subplot 1 m x 1 m). Hasil penelitian di Desa Bayeman ditemukan 7 spesies mangrove dan 1 jenis spesies di Desa Pesisir. Vegetasi pohon mangrove di Desa Bayeman dan Desa Pesisir berada dalam kondisi baik. Vegetasi Mangrove di Desa Bayeman didominasi spesies Xylocarpus mollucensis dan untuk Desa Pesisir adalah Avicennia marina. Vegetation mangrove occupy the area between land and sea that have environmental conditions differ from one another. The purpose of this studied to know about the structure and composition of mangrove vegetation for rehabilitation program planning in Bayeman Sub-District of. Tongas and Pesisir Sub-Districk Sumberasih, District of Probolinggo , East Java. The studied was conducted in March, 2015 to January, 2016. Vegetation data was done with purposive sampling method and every transect was made with plot sampling method. Each tree (plot 10 m x 10 m) and sapling (subplot 5 m x 5 m) was identified and measured on diameter at breast height (± 1.3 m).  Meanwhile, Seedling calculated the amount of each species and the percentage of cover (subplot 1 m x 1 m). The research finding at Bayeman shows that there are seven mangroves and one mangrove shows in Pesisir. The mangrove vegetation at Bayeman and Pesisir in good conditions. Mangrove vegetation at Bayeman is dominated by Xylocarpus mollucensis and Mangrove vegetation at Pesisir is dominated Avicennia marina .

This study aims to determine the structure of phytoplankton communities in the pool are former coal mining Desa Kampung Baru Kecamatan Cempaka which include abundance, diversity, uniformity and dominance. Phytoplankton samples taken in two pools with a purposive sampling method with a three-point shooting at each pond. Sampling was performed three times. Phylum of phytoplankton were identified in both pools as much as 2 phylum (Chloropyta and Chrysopita) with 17 genera. Average abundance of phytoplankton in the first pool of 7174 ind / liter and 6873 ind / liter in the second pool. The average diversity index of phytoplankton in the first pool of 1.540 and 1.621 in the second pool. Average uniformity index of phytoplankton in the first pool of 0622 and 0.623 in the second pool. The average index of phytoplankton dominance in the first pool of 0271 and 0250 in the second pool. Analysis of community structure (abundance, diversity, uniformity and dominance) shows the condition of the two ponds in the state is quite stable and capable of supporting life inside the phytoplankton. Where the pool in the fertility rate is the level of contamination is, the conditions included in the category of individuals spread more evenly and there are no species that dominate other species in the extreme.

Sungai Lanangan merupakan bagian hulu Sungai Bengawan Solo yang terletak di Desa Daleman, Kecamatan Tulung, Kabupaten Klaten. Jenis limbah seperti limbah domestik, industri, pertanian, perikanan dan peternakan telah mencemari Sungai Lanangan. Limbah organik dari industri tepung aren dan mie soun yang dibuang di Sungai Lanangan mencapai 50 ton limbah per hari. Hal tersebut menyebabkan perubahan kualitas air dan komposisi fitoplankton di Sungai Lanangan.Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Januari - Februari 2018 di Sungai Lanangan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelimpahan dan komposisifitoplankton serta mengetahui kualitas perairan berdasarkan struktur komunitas fitoplankton di Sungai Lanangan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei denganpengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Frekuensi pengambilan sampel dilakukan setiap 1 minggu sekali selama 3 minggu. Sampel diambil dari 3 stasiun, dimana stasiun 1 dengan karakteristik perairan terbuka; Stasiun 2 dengan karakteristik dekat industri pengolahan tepung aren; dan stasiun 3 dengan karakteristik dekat dengan daerah budidaya air tawar.Hasil penelitian didapatkan 11 genera fitoplankton yaitu dari kelas Bacillariophyceae (4 genera), Cyanophyceae (2 genera), Chrysophyceae (1 genus), Ulvophyceae (2 genera), Zygnematophyceae (1 genus) dan Chlorophyceae (1 genus). Kelimpahan rata-rata fitoplankton tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun 2 dengan kelimpahan 1.989 ind/l yang didominasi oleh genus Oscillatoria. Indeks keanekaragaman rata-rata pada setiap stasiun adalah 1,68 pada stasiun 1; 1,63 pada stasiun 2; dan 1,52 pada stasiun 3. Dari hasil indeks keanekaragaman yang didapatkan tersebut menunjukkan kisaran nilai antara 1,52 hingga 1,68 yang berarti bahwa kualitas perairan Sungai Lanangan tercemar ringan.  Lanangan river is one upstream of Bengawan Solo river which located at Daleman, Tulung, Klaten. types of waste such as domestic waste, industrial waste, agriculture, fishery and animal husbandry polluted Lanangan river. Especially organic waste from palm starch and soun noodle industry that are dumped in the Lanangan river reaches 50 tonnes waste per day. This research was conducted from January to February 2018 in the Lanangan river. The purpose of this research is to find out the abundance and composition of phytoplankton; and to determine the water qualitybased on the structure of the phytoplankton community in Lanangan river. This research uses survey method and use purposive sampling method. The Frequency of sampling is done once a week for 3 week. The samples taken from 3 stations, where station 1 is open water; Station 2 is near palm starch and soun noodle industry; and station 3 is close to freshwater aquaculture area.The resultsof the research found 11 genus of phytoplankton in class Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Ulvophyceae, Zygnematophyceae and Chlorophyceae. The highest average of phytoplankton abundance found in station 2 with 1,989 ind/l which is dominated by the genus of Oscillatoria. The average diversity index each station is 1.68 at station 1; 1.63 at station 2; and 1.52 at station 3. From the results obtained the diversity index indicates the range of values between 1.52 to 1.68 which show that the water quality of Lanangan River is lightly to moderate polluted.

Diversity and characteristics of mangrove vegetation in Pulau Rimau Protection Forest, Banyuasin District, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 20: 1215-1221. The purpose of the study was to analyze the flora diversity and characteristics of mangrove vegetation in Pulau Rimau Protection Forest, Banyuasin District, South Sumatra. Data collected were the number and girth diameter of mangrove tree species, and aquatic ecology parameters using transect method. The sample plots size were 2m×2 m; 5m×5 m; 10m×10 m; for seedling, sapling, and tree, respectively. The observation plots were arranged in a row of 120 m length on two sides of the forest edge, namely Calik Riverbank and Banyuasin Riverbank. Data were analyzed using importance value index (IVI), Simpson’s diversity index and Sørensen’s community similarity. The study revealed that there were differences in mangrove characteristics in two study sites. There were 57 plant species identified inside and outside sample plots, but only 15 species (26.32%) among them were categorized as true mangrove species. Inside the sample plots, there were 11 and 10 mangrove tree species recorded on the Calik Riverbank and Banyuasin Riverbank, respectively, but only 7 species among them were found in both sites. The mangroves on Calik Riverbank were dominated by Nypa (IVI 53.59%) and Bruguiera (51.12%), while those on Banyuasin Riverbank were dominated by Sonneratia (66.91%) and Avicennia (51.73%). The Simpson’s diversity index for Calik Riverbank and Banyuasin Riverbank was 0.82 and 0.78, respectively, whereas the Sørensen’s coefficient of community between the two sites was 0.67.

ABSTRAK : Hutan mangrove memiliki fungsi ekologis sebagai tempat pemijahan (spawning ground), asuhan (nursery ground), dan mencari makan (feeding ground). Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui korelasi antara kelimpahan kepiting dengan kerapatan mangrove di ekosistem mangrove Desa Bedono, Kecamatan Sayung, Kabupaten Demak. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif eksploratif dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode kualitatif dan penentuan lokasi sampling menggunakan purposive sampling method. Lokasi penelitian dibagi menjadi tiga stasiun yaitu A (Mangrove dekat muara), B (Tracking mangrove), C (Mangrove dekat Tambak). Sampel diambil dari plot sampling 5 m x 5 m dengan tiga kali pengulangan dan tiga waktu pengulangan di setiap stasiunnya. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan 7 jenis kepiting yang termasuk ke dalam 4 famili, diantaranya adalah Ocypodidae (Uca vocans dan Uca coarctata), Grapsidae (Metoporgapsus latifrons dan Episesarma lafondi), Varunidae (Metaplax elegans dan Pseudograpsus albus) dan Sesarmidae (Parasesarma rutilimanum). Korelasi antara kelimpahan kepiting dengan kerapatan mangrove menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi nilai kerapatan mangrove maka semakin tinggi juga nilai kelimpahan kepiting. Nilai kelimpahan kepiting tertinggi terdapat di stasiun A (27633 ind/ha) dan kelimpahan terendah terdapat pada stasiun B (3833 ind/ha). ABSTRACT : Mangrove forests have ecological functions as a spawning ground, nursery ground, and feeding ground. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation of an abundance of crabs with the density of mangroves in the mangrove ecosystems of Bedono Village, Sayung District, Demak Regency. This research was descriptive explorative with sampling using qualitative methods and determining sampling locations using a purposive sampling method. The research location is divided into three stations, namely A (Mangrove near the estuary), B (Tracking mangrove), C (Mangrove near the Pond). Samples were taken from a sampling plot of 5 m x 5 m with three repetitions and three repetitions of each station. The results of this study found 7 types of crabs belonging to 4 families, including Ocypodidae (Uca vocans and Uca coarctata), Grapsidae (Metoporgapsus latifrons and Episesarma lafondi), Varunidae (Metaplax elegans and Pseudograpsus albus) and Sesarmidae (Parasesarma rutilimanum). The correlation of the abundance of crabs with mangrove density shows that the higher the value of mangrove density, the higher the abundance of crabs. The highest value of crab abundance was found in station A (27633 ind/ha) and the lowest abundance was found at station B (3833 ind/ha).

Zooplankton berperan sebagai konsumen tingkat pertama, yaitu memindahkan energi dari produsen ke konsumen tingkat dua. Zooplankton dapat digunakan sebagai bahan kajian untuk mengetahui kualitas dan kesuburan suatu perairan yang sangat diperlukan untuk mendukung pemanfaatan sumberdaya pesisir dan laut. Perairan Morosari mengalami degradasi akibat rob dan berkurangnya tanaman mangrove Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan parameter kualitas air dengan kelimpahan zooplankton di Perairan Pantai Morosari, Demak. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei dan penentuan lokasi dipilih dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling, analisis data meliputi kelimpahan, indeks keanekaragaman, keseragaman, dominasi dan analisis hubungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai korelasi parameter kualitas air yaitu 0,799 (DO), 0,928 (suhu), 0,758 (salinitas), -0,019 (pH), -0,318 (arus). Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan parameter kualitas air terutama DO, suhu, dan salinitas mempunyai kaitan yang erat terhadap kelimpahan zooplankton di perairan Pantai Morosari. Zooplankton acts as the first level consumer, i.e. transferring energy from producers to second level consumers, zooplankton can be used as study material to find out the quality and fertility of water that is needed to support the use of coastal and marine resources. This study aims to determine the abundance of zooplankton, the types of zooplankton and the relation of water quality parameters with the abundance of zooplankton in Morosari Coastal Water, Demak. Research using methods of surveying and determining the location was chosen using the purposive sampling method, data analysis includes abundance, diversity index, uniformity, dominance, and relationship analysis. The results showed that correlation value between water parameters and abundance of zooplankton is 0,799 (DO), 0,928 (temperature), 0,758 (salinity), -0,019 (pH), -0,138 (current). Based on the results of the water quality parameters, especially DO, temperature, and salinity have a close relationship to the abundance of zooplankton in the waters of Morosari Beach.

The distribution and habitat preference of freshwater shrimps Caridina ensifera Schenkel, 1902 on two inlets of Lake Poso, Central Sulawesi have been studied. Freshwater shrimps samples was collected in two streams, namely the Pomua Palandu Stream and Toinasa Stream. The sampling station on each streams is divided into three locations based on the distance of the stream flow from its mouth at Lake Poso. Sampling is done by purposive sampling method using the tray net tool. The obtained samples were preserved using 96% alcohol and than identification was carried out at the Laboratory of Animal Biosystematic and evolution, Department of Biology, Tadulako University. The results showed that Caridina ensifera was only distributed in the lower reaches of the Pomua Palandu Stream and Toinasa Stream, having habitat preferences between plant roots that dangled into the water with rocky sand and sand substrates and very slow current speeds. According to von Rintelen and Cai (2009) Caridina ensifera is distributed in Lake Poso.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui zonasi, keanekaragaman, serta pola migrasi ikan di Sungai Keyang, Kabupaten Ponorogo. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Oktober-November 2017 dengan metode purposive sampling pada 3 stasiun pengamatan. Pengukuran faktor fisika kimia air meliputi suhu, pH, DO, BOD, CO2, kekeruhan, kecerahan, serta padatan terlarut (TDS). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu di Sungai Keyang terdapat 6 famili dan 11 spesies ikan. Famili tersebut adalah Poecilidae, Cyprinidae, Balitoridae, Sisoridae, Anantidae, serta Channidae. Spesies yang ditemukan yaitu Poecilia reticulata, Rasbora argyrotaenia, Rasbora dusonensis, Rasbora paviana, Rasbora tornieri, Puntius amphibious, Poropontius tawarensis, Nemacheilus fasciatus, Glyptothorax platypogon, Anabas testudineus, dan Channa striata. Spesies yang memiliki nilai kepadatan tertinggi yaitu P. reticulata sebanyak 39 individu dan R. dusonensis sebanyak 27 individu pada stasiun 2 dan 17 individu pada stasiun 3. Indeks keanekaragaman ikan pada semua stasiun termasuk dalam kategori sedang yaitu secara berturut-turut 1,57; 1,80; dan 1,45. Indeks kemerataan ikan di semua stasiun termasuk dalam kategori tinggi yaitu 1,64; 1,73; dan 1,87, sedangkan indeks dominansi ikan termasuk dalam kategori rendah yaitu secara bertutut-turut 0,28; 0,23; dan 0,28. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah zonasi persebaran ikan di Sungai Keyang didominasi oleh genus Poecillia dan Rasbora, keanekaragaman ikan termasuk dalam kategori sedang, serta pola migrasi masing-masing spesies ikan berbeda yaitu ada yang selalu di tepi dan ada yang menyebar baik untuk tujuan reproduksi atau mencari makan.Kata kunci: keanekaragaman ikan, pola migrasi ikan, Sungai Keyang, zonasiABSTRACTFish is one of the water organism that susceptible to change of environmental condition, so it is can be used as bioindicator of environmental pollution. This research is purposed to determine the spread zonation, diversity, and migration structure of fish in Keyang River, Ponorogo Regency. Sample was conducted in October-November 2017with purposive sampling method in 3 observation stations. The results of this research were 6 families and 11 species. The families are Poecilidae, Cyprinidae, Balitoridae, Sisoridae, Anantidae, and Channidae. The species were found Poecilia reticulata, Rasbora argyrotaenia, Rasbora dusonensis, Rasbora paviana, Rasbora tornieri, Puntius amphibious, Poropontius tawarensis, Nemacheilus fasciatus, Glyptothorax platypogon, Anabas testudineus, and Channa striata. The highest density species are P. reticulata with 39 individual and R.dusonensis with 27 individual at station 2 and 17 individual at station 3. The diversity index of fish in all observation stations was included in medium category (1,57; 1,80; and 1,45). The similarity index (Evennes index) in all stations was included in high category (1,64; 1,73; and 1,87). The Simpson’s index in all stations was included in low category (0,28; 0,23; and 0,28). The conclusions of this research are Poecillia and Rasbora was dominated the fish spread zonation, diversity of gastropods in Keyang River included in medium category, and each spesies had different migration structure, that are at the side or spead of the river with the purpose for reproduction or looking for food.Keywords:  fish biodiversity, fish migration structure, Keyang River, zoningCitation: Pratami, V. This research was conducted to determine the condition of the mangrove ecosystem based on its canopy cover and to determine the types of mollusks (Bivalves and Gastropods) associated with the Benoa Bay mangrove ecosystem. Hemispherical photography is a method for observing mangrove canopy cover and line transect method for mollusks. The composition of mangrove species found in the research location were five species, namely Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, and Avicennia marina. The percentage of mangrove canopy cover in the Benoa Bay mangrove ecosystem is in a good category (average = 76.59%). There are eight types of mollusks found in the research location. There are two types of bivalves (Polymesoda bengalensis and Gafrarium pectinatum) and six types of gastropods (Nerita balteata, Nerita picea, Neritina turrita, Pila ampullacea, Cassidula aurisfelis, and Littoraria melanostoma). The relationship between the percentage of mangrove canopy cover and abundance of mollusks in the Benoa Bay mangrove ecosystem is very strong (r) of 0.920. The higher the percentage value of mangrove canopy cover, the higher the mollusks abundance.
