Online learning is a learning methodology implemented during the recent COVID-19 outbreaks.Lecturers and students need to use appropriate online platformsarising from the Movement Control Order (MCO) restrictions with effect from March 18, 2020, in Malaysia. In essence, the MCO prohibits Malaysians from attending to or organizing mass events or public gatherings, and where public and private educational institutions are concerned, they are not allowed to conduct any classesin situ. The only possible continuation of classes is via online learning. This case study had two research objectives: 1) Whatwere the challenges faced by educators when implementing online learning? and 2) How to overcome these challenges faced by educators in online learning? This study had applied the qualitative approach method, where researchers had distributed surveys, through a google platform, to a total of 20 educators. The results showed six (6) major challenges faced by educators in online learning, these being 1) students were less focused on online learning; 2) the platform/medium of learning was not satisfactory; 3) students left behind learning tools such as books and laptops in residential colleges; 4) students' internet access was less satisfactory to the extent that the lectures had to be extended from the actual time allocated; 5) educators' unstable internet access which disrupted the momentum of teaching; and 6) students did not attend the online courses. There were four (4) means to overcome these challenges 1) institutions to provide more comprehensive and e-learning platforms for online learning; 2) internet access for educators and students should be good to ensure smooth and uninterrupted online classes; 3) providing workshops or training programs on management of online classes for educators; and 4) for courses involving mathematical computation, in addition to a more suitable platform for teaching, the student population per group to be small in size to accommodate 10 educators while teaching. The results of this study shall benefit the management of private higher learning institutions and educators involved in online learning.

Novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) was first detected in Wuhan, China, soon its rapid escalation in global and become global spread of infection including Malaysia. The principal cases in Malaysia were distinguished on 25th January 2020. The number of cases keeps on ascending since March 2020 until Malaysia has the highest number of cases in Southeast Asia. Therefore, to respond and control the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the 2020 Movement Control Order (MCO) is implemented. The MCO actualizes a movement of reasonable steps to control advance flare-ups of COVID-19 within the country, counting closing down all organization and private premises aside from those related with "fundamental administrations" and several parts with government permission, and travel disallowances on all outsiders entering Malaysia and on Malaysians taking off the country. Correspondingly, this MCO has brought about the decrease of air contamination as the number of engine vehicles and the activity of businesses is suspended. This study aims to determine the concentrations of particulate matter 2.5 at the selected monitoring stations in UTHM and to correlate environmental factor which is wind speed and wind direction with the Particulate Matter 2.5. This study uses PM2.5 fixations to explain the air pollution before to MCO, stages I, II, III, and IV, where the contingent MCO is actualized. Such outcomes relate to the air contamination list as it was discovered that the PM2.5 fixations showed a high decrease of up to -74 μg/m3 during Phase IV MCO.

The implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia during COVID-19 pandemic that disallowed usual face-to-face lectures has affected both public and private higher education institutions. The best alternative to ensure that learning sessions are continuously uninterrupted is by online learning which is the implementation of teaching and learning sessions through technology systems. Lecturers interaction in online learning method is very important in providing understanding to students. Therefore, the aim of this study is to know the students satisfaction towards lecturers interaction in online learning of Tafsir al-Quran course. Method used in this research is quantitative design whereas a semi-structured questionnaire distributed among 2ndyear students of Quran and Multimedia Studies Program, Faculty of Quran and Sunnah Studies, UniversitiSains Islam Malaysia. This questionnaire has to be answered via Microsoft Forms and the data obtained then were analyzed descriptively through computer software namely Microsoft Excel and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. The results of the study found that the level of students satisfaction towards lecturers interaction in online learning of Tafsir al-Quran course were at a high level. In this regard, the interaction of lecturers is very important in providing understanding among students, as well as systematic and easy-to-understand of teaching methods.

COVID-19 has been declared as a pandemic, an epidemic of a disease that spreads so widely across the world. Thus the Malaysian government has enforced the Movement Control Order (MCO) effective 18th March 2020 to curb the spread of the virus which includes the closure of all educational institutes. In order to ensure that all teaching and learning process (T&L) continue smoothly, the Teacher Education Institute or locally known as Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG), has adopted the online T&L platforms to deliver lessons. This study was conducted to identify the IPG lecturers’ perspective of student teachers’ online learning level during the pandemic. It also explores the support required by the lecturers in implementing online T&L. This study used a quantitative approach which is supported by qualitative findings. The sample of the study were 806 IPG lecturers who were given questionnaires in the form of 5-point Likert Scale items and open ended questionnaires. The finding of the study indicated a high level of students' learning with mean scores exceeding 4.0 for all items where the highest mean was for the item ‘students attend online classes’ (mean=4.49, SD=0.77). The qualitative analysis of the open ended questions showed that IPG lecturers needed support in the form of internet access, guidance and training to utilise the online platforms for T&L, and technical and moral support to help increase students’ level learning. The results of the study implicate that both the lecturers and students need to strive harder to familiarise themselves with this new situation and to ensure that the online T&L runs smoothly and effectively

The implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO) to curb the spread of Covid-19 has various effects on the community, regardless of the field they are involved in. Enforcement order to stay at home has resulted  to the closure and restriction of all types of operations including the education sector. Due to the implementation of MCO, the teaching and learning activities that used to be conducted face-to-face have been completely replaced by online learning. This situation eventually has given some stressful impact and has caused difficulties to students of higher learning institutions to continue their studies virtually. Various factors have been found as stressors among undergraduate students. It is hoped that this study would help to find effective ways to reduce stress among undergraduate students.

<p class="0abstract"><span lang="EN-US">This research study the relationship between the understanding of online learning during Movement Control Order (MCO) due to pandemic Covid-19 and the movement condition through the sensor’s parameters sensed by smartphone. The studies carried out to track the student’s movement and conditions in sitting position while online class conducted and collect the data recorded by using smartphone sensors. The Apps AndroSensor is used to measure the Light intensity (lux), Orientation (axis x, y and z), Sound Level (dB) and Heart Rate (bpm). The understanding of online learning is measured using survey and questionnaire. The respondents that involves on this research are consists from different universities. Multiple Linear Regression was used to conclude the relationship between the parameters and the understanding of online learning. Total 60 students were involved in this study. Students that are selected has followed the criteria needed which are height, weight and age. </span></p>

The researcher aimed to find out students’ speaking experience toward role-play techniques in online learning. The researcher used a descriptive case study to describe and interpret students' attitudes toward speaking online learning. The data collections were interview through Whatsapp and questionnaires on Google form. The researcher observed 5 students for the Interview and 34 eleventh grade students for the Questionnaire. The results showed that the participant's experience toward the implementation of role-play technique in online speaking class was good and positive. The most of participants claimed that they had an interesting experience. However, this research still had several obstacles such as limited internet access, lack of participants' language skills, and limited feedback from the researcher.

<p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong><em> </em></p><p><em>The implementation of online learning in Indonesia has caused smartphones to be widely used as learning tools which are considered effective for conducting online learning. The use of smartphones makes it easier for us to obtain learning information anywhere and anytime, especially in achieving online learning goals in elementary schools. The study aimed to examine the application of smartphone-based learning for online learning at SDN Podosoko 2, the faced obstacles, and the solutions. It was qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and document analysis.The results showed that the application of smartphone-based learning for online learning of fifth grade met good category about the learning process and student learning resources. The teacher createdWhatsApp group to convey subject materials, information, questions and answers, assignments, and learning resources. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis <em>smartphone</em> dalam pembelajaran daring di SDN Podosoko 2 serta kendala dan solusi yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis <em>smartphone</em> dalam pembelajaran daring di kelas V dalam kategori baik untuk kegiatan proses pembelajaran dan sumber belajar siswa. Guru memanfaatkan <em>whatsapp group</em> untuk menyampaikan materi pelajaran, informasi, tanya jawab, penugasan, pengumpulan tugas, dan sumber belajar. Pelaksanaan penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis <em>smartphone</em> dalam pembelajaran daring di kelas V memunculkan beberapa kendala. Background: Gamification is an innovative approach to engaging in activities that people believe as less interesting. Recycling has been an issue not taken aware by the people in environmental sustainability. There are substantial studies on recycling intention due to the continual growth of unethical and unsustainable waste disposal. Creative approaches to recycling awareness activities should be made to fulfil youths’ increasing interest in and demand for recycling. The main objective of this study is to explore the factors related to youths’ recycling intentions after experiencing a gamified online recycling learning activity, Edcraft Gamified Learning (EGL). Gamified recycling education is believed to be a practical and engaging approach for youths. Methods: 100 students participated in EGL, consisting of two levels of plastic crafting and recycling activities. They experienced online EGL at home between May and September in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic total lockdown in Malaysia, namely, Movement Control Order (MCO). 29 participants were selected to participate in five focus group discussions (FGDs) with five to eight participants per session to explore their opinions towards gamified learning, motivation and recycling intention. Results: This paper reports the findings of the FGDs. A codebook was developed based on the codes from the FGD feedback. The codes were rated by two raters, followed by an assessment of inter-rater reliability and thematic analysis. The findings emerged and were confirmed with four themes as factors that influence recycling intention. They are gameful experience, social influence, intrinsic motivation, and extrinsic motivation. Conclusion: The dependent variable, recycling intention, was connected to the four themes to verify the conceptual framework. One limitation of the study was the design of the EGL activity, which was only carried out over two days with two levels of gamified recycling education, as students had concurrent academic online classes during that period.

Purpose – Online learning is an essential platform to support varying learning conditions, anytime and anywhere. It helps connect online communities regardless of one’s geographical location and time zone. During the COVID-19 outbreak in Malaysia, the use of online learning platforms has become a crucial option for accomplishing learning objectives. During this challenging time, universities have been looking for suitable solutions to address issues regarding the online learning process. This paper discusses the challenges in online learning, as well as the importance of collaborative learning activities during the Movement Control Order (MCO). Challenges in emotion and changes of routine among students have been detected during the MCO imposed by the government of Malaysia. Methodology – An exploratory sequential approach was carried out in this study to obtain students’ feedback in terms of their emotions and routine changes during the outbreak of COVID-19 and the subsequent implementation of the MCO. Convenience sampling was used for this research, and in order to obtain feedback on online learning during the MCO an online interview was conducted with 42 students from the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA branch in the state of Kelantan. The feedback items were recorded and transcribed in Excel format. Next, sentiment analysis was carried out using Rapidminer software. Findings – The results showed that higher education institutions or universities had to play their part in providing a virtual learning environment as convenient as possible during the Movement Control Order period. The results also showed that educators had to ensure the success of online learning by maintaining the motivation of their students Significance – The findings in this study can also benefit educators and higher education institutions or universities in executing suitable teaching and learning plans during the COVID-19 outbreak.
