Abstract Introduction. Early detection of the person’s mental dependence on psychotropic substances enables timely correction of deviations in his/her behavior. Given the symptom of the anosognosy, the search for projective methods for determining the presence of mental dependence is required. Certain personality features that determine dependence can be reflected in the perception of music. Aim. The goal of the research was to determine the connecting features of the perception of music with the presence of the person’s mental dependence on psychotropic substances. Material and methods. The study involved students aged 18-19. There were 50 students in the standard group. The experimental group consisted of another 50 students with addictive behavior. They were of the same age and were patients in the centers of medical and social rehabilitation. For the study of personal qualities, the following methods were applied: the method of determining the level of subjective control by J. Rotter, the method of narrative by N. Chepeleva, the frustration test by Rosenzweig and six specially created musical fragments which represented a certain musical discourse. Results. An analysis of the selection of the musical fragments by students and individuals with addictive behavior has shown that there are statistically significant differences. Students, in comparison with those with addictive behavior, have mature social concept of “I-concept”, and this fact underlies the fact that they give the highest ratings to classical music. An empirical study has shown the connection between the the first stage selection of musical fragments that have certain psychological content and the presence of dependence on psychotropic substances. Conclusions. Musical discourse, due to the specific influence on the emotional sphere of a person, causes a certain response, relevant to its personality properties. The connection of psychological peculiarities of persons with addictive behavior and their perception of music is established: their emotional mood corresponds to music of a destructive character, which symbolizes aggression and has a dangerous influence on the mental state of a person. We defined musical discourses, the content of which can serve as stimulating material for determining certain personal characteristics that indicate the dependence on psychotropic substances.

In the recent years the significant increase in number of convicts with addictive behavior is observed in correctional establishments of the Russian Federation. Addictive behavior is often caused by anomalies of the identity of convicts and is expressed in escape from reality by change of their mental state by means of use of narcotic and psychotropic substances, alcohol, game addiction, sexual addictions that is followed by intensive emotions development. Nowadays the modern society requires that correctional establishments of the penal system of Russia should become social clinics which are carrying out psychosocial rehabilitation of convicts with addictive behavior. The purpose of this research is studying psychological features of convicts with addictive behavior. The methods and techniques of the research are observation, conversation, analysis of personal records, expert poll, psycho-diagnostic testing (the test of addictive indicators of MGAA, K. Leonhard – H. Shmishek's test, L.N. Sobchik's technique "The individual and typological questionnaire", the LSI test of Kellerman-Plutchik-Konte), methods of mathematical statistics. It is defined that convicts with addictive behavior are conflictive, quick-tempered, insincere, show high levels on the scale of addictive indicators, have high indicators of exaltation, demonstrativeness and excitability. They have dominating conflict emotional states which are followed by high introversion and psychological protection as denial, rationalization, cognitive mapping. Such personal profile of convicts with addictive behavior testifies to the aggressive manner of self-affirmation contrary to the interests of people around, the increased suspiciousness and vigilance in the relations, high proneness to conflict. We consider that psychological features of convicts with addictive behavior are the indicator of success of their psychosocial rehabilitation.

For companies, complaints are a valuable customer reaction to dissatisfaction. They enable the company to respond to customer issues to prevent them from changing supplier or spreading negative word-of-mouth communication. Previous research identified various influencing factors of complaint behaviour. However, it has been scarcely considered which aspects influence the selection of the complaint channel (e. g. telephone, social media). Therefore, a 1x2 experimental study (n = 244) was conducted. Results reveal effects of personal characteristics (aggressiveness, argumentativeness and social anxiety) on complaint channel choice. A moderating effect of failure severity was also partially found. From a managerial perspective, it is recommended to provide various complaint options. This would allow the disappointed consumer to choose an adequate complaint channel depending on his or her personality.

The nonlinear resonance hypothesis of music perception was tested in an experiment comparing a group of musically sophisticated and a group of less sophisticated subjects. The prediction that weakly chaotic music entrains less complex brain wave (EEG) oscillations at the prefrontal cortex was confirmed by using a correlational dimension algorithm. Strongly chaotic (stochastic) and periodic music both stimulated higher brain wave complexity. More sophisticated subjects who prefer classical music showed higher EEG dimensions while less sophisticated subjects responded with a drop in brain wave complexity to rhythmical weakly chaotic music. Subjects ratings of perceived complexity of the musical pieces followed mathematical (objective) structure of the music and did not reflect the changes in brain wave complexity. The results are interpreted in the context of an associated (Hebbian) network theory of nonlinear brain dynamics.

First and foremost, innovation is driven by people. These people have specific personal characteristics and fulfil designated roles in innovation management. We have conducted an empirical study among 190 employees in R&D departments of mature international firms from four different countries (Germany, U.S.A., Great Britain and Switzerland) currently working on innovation projects. Using multivariate analyses, we could identify personal characteristics associated with different roles people can take over the course of an innovation project. These roles are called expert, power, process or relationship promotor as well as champion. The identified personal characteristics exhibit a distinctive pattern in their combined occurrence for each role. Our results show a detailed picture of specific personal characteristics of individuals, so called innovators, necessary for successful innovation. Based on these findings, we derive recommendations for a targeted human resource acquisition and a better selection of employees for successful innovation teams.

The article considers the problem of qualitative selection and selection of candidates for service in the territorial bodies (divisions) of the Rosgvardiya. Psychological selection, together with its psychophysiological component, is a part of professional selection aimed at identifying such employees who, according to their moral, psychophysiological and psychological qualities, most correspond to the specific requirements of future activity. At the same time, highly effective psychological selection should have an integrated approach that corresponds to two principles, the first is the principle of differentiation and dynamism, the second is the reliability and prognosticality of the methods used. The experience of using a polygraph in the police in the course of personnel work is considered. The results of the study of candidates for work in private organizations and for service in the Rosgvardiya are presented. Professional psychological selection is also considered as a set of measures aimed at ensuring a high-quality selection of the organization's personnel based on an assessment of the compliance of the level of development of the necessary psychophysiological (individual) qualities and personality properties with the requirements of professional activity. The socio-psychological and personal characteristics of candidates identified in the process of psychodiagnostic research and negatively affecting their further service are summarized.
