A comparative analysis of indices of physical development of preschool children of Ufa for 1978, 1999 and 2014 showed mixed changes or no statistically reliable changes in the indices in preschool children of different groups from 1978 to 1999. In the period from 1999 to 2014 in some groups of preschool children there were revealed statistically reliable positive changes in the indices, whereas there was no statistically reliable decrease of indices. A favorable fact is also the increment in the percentage of preschool children with harmonious physical development in the comparison with 1999.

ABSTRACT Objective: Study the prevalence of iron depletion and iron-deficiency anemia and their associated factors in preschool children. Methods: Cross-sectional study with five-year old preschool children from a birth cohort of the city of Diamantina, Minas Gerais state, Brazil. Socioeconomic, demographic, and dietary characteristics were obtained through a questionnaire administered to each child mother or guardian. Iron depletion (normal hemoglobin and low serum ferritin levels) and iron-deficiency anemia (hemoglobin level than 11g/dL) were detected after collecting 5mL of venous blood of preschool children. Poisson regression was used to identify the factors associated with iron depletion and iron-deficiency anemia. Results: A total of 228 preschool were evaluated, corresponding to 97.4% of the children from a cohort study followed-up up to the end of their first year of life. Iron depletion and iron-deficiency anemia were detected, respectively, in 15.9% and 18.9% of the preschool children evaluated. Iron depletion was not associated with any variable studied, while low maternal education level was associated with iron-deficiency anemia (PR=1.83; P=0.03). Conclusion: Iron-deficiency anemia is considered as a mild public health problem among 5-year old children in the city of Diamantina, Minas Gerais. Higher maternal education level was a protective factor against this deficiency, and therefore it is as an important marker for the occurrence of iron-deficiency anemia in the population studied.

Aim. To define characteristics of growth and development of children and adolescents of school age in the city of Samara.Methods. Measurements of anthropometric parameters of 2617 children aged 7-17 years, of which 1397 children studied in general educational institutions of Samara, 1220 schoolchildren - in the regional centers of the Samara region, were performed. The obtained values of anthropometric parameters of physical development of schoolchildren in Samara were compared with the study results of the appropriate age and sex groups of children and adolescents living in the Samara region.Results. Children of the regional capital and district centers come to school with virtually the same anthropometric parameters. Due to the inhomogeneous influence of conditions and nature of education, nutrition, motor activity indicators of physical development in the educative process acquire significant differences. The height of the city of Samara boys aged 7-15 years is lower than height of peers living in the Samara region (p ˂0.01). Body weight in girls to 9 years, and in boys since 7 years of age is less than in their peers who live in the district centers of the Samara region (p ˂0.05). The chest circumference of the Samara schoolchildren is significantly less than that of their peers of the Samara region in the age groups of 7-14 years in boys and 8-14 years in girls. Waist circumference of Samara boys in the age groups of 7-11 and 13 years and in girls aged 10-14 years is significantly less than that of the Samara region children. Hip circumference of the Samara schoolchildren in junior (7-10 years) and middle (11-14 years) school grades is less than in children of Samara region (p ˂0.05).Conclusion. Revealed differences in anthropometric parameters of children of the city of Samara and Samara region demonstrate the need to develop regional standards to evaluate the physical development of children and adolescents of big cities and rural areas.

The results of the study of the registered morbidity caused by herpes viruses (HHV) type 4, 5, 6 in preschool children in a large industrial region are presented. Materials and methods. The information on the registered incidence of acute forms of HHV-4, 5, 6 infections in hospitals and clinics in Perm and Perm Krai in 2015—2018 was studied. The following nosologies were taken into account according to ICD-10: В 27.0, В 27.1, В 27.8, В 25., В 25., К 11., К 77.0, В 08.2. 13 452 outpatient cases of infections caused by HHV 4, 5, 6 children 1—6 years old were analyzed, of which in the city of Perm — 6330, in the Perm Krai — 7122, hospitalized — 1171 people. Results. The incidence of hospitalized patients in 92.0% of cases is represented by infectious mononucleosis. The outpatient incidence of HHV 4, 5, 6 infections in 80.6% of cases is represented by non-mononucleous cytomegalovirus diseases, the proportion of which exceeds those in hospitalized patients by 16 times. Conclusions. The analysis of the registered morbidity caused by HHV 4,5,6 in children 1—6 years old in the city of Perm revealed a significant pediatric problem consisting in incorrectness and overdiagnosis of cytomegalovirus infection.

Parameters of physical development are known to be informative indicators of health status and adaptation processes, as well as markers of social, hygienic and environmental well-being both in healthy children and those with various pathological conditions. The purpose of this article was to study the characteristics of the physical status of children with intellectual disabilities. Materials and methods. We examined 168 children of primary school age (7–11 years) studying in secondary schools of Krasnoyarsk. The subjects were divided into two groups: the first group included 54 children with intellectual disability (F70, F71 according to ICD-10), the second group included 114 children without intellectual disability. Anthropometric characteristics and level of physical development were studied taking into account regional centile tables. The harmony of physical development was assessed using the Quetelet index. Results. The physical development of children with intellectual disability is characterized by a lag in anthropometric characteristics compared with intellectually healthy children: body length was 133.0 and 137.3 cm (p = 0.048), head circumference 51.0 and 52.5 cm (p = 0.002) respectively. The first group also had a statistically significantly lower percentage of children with harmonious physical development (37 %, p = 0.045) against the background of pronounced disharmony (underweight in 31.5 %, excess body weight in 31.5 % of children) compared to their healthy peers (harmonious development in 55 %, underweight in 16 %, overweight in 29 % of children). Further research into the constitution of children with intellectual disability can form the basis for the development of corrective measures, taking into account the specific typological characteristics of children in this group. The problem of prophylaxis of various deficiencies of the skeletal bone of preschool children and first of all of the spine, as a basic pillar in their development, was and remains in the sights of specialists in the field of physical education and sports. It has been shown experimentally that the means of physical education can and must be a basic support in terms of spinal deficiencies prophylaxis, especially in children of preschool age, in this case the age of 6-7 years. It is at this age that the first symptoms occur related to the appearance of one or another spine deficiency. If no direct action is taken, with the application of specific means to eliminate or reduce the occurrence of these deficiencies, the situation may become much more serious and much more difficult to resolve. In this case, a series of means of physical education are proposed in the form of complex exercises and dynamic games, which have been used successfully in the training process of preschoolers aged 6-7. At the same time, the influence of the prophylaxis process of spinal deficiencies on the level of physical development of the contingent given by children was researched.

This study followed a chronological review of literature over the past 20 years. This was able to show relationship between inclusivity and physical development. A variety of discussions were looked into including dimension of inclusivity, definition of inclusivity, scales for measurement of inclusivity, methodology for appraising inclusivity, protagonists of inclusivity, and antagonists of inclusivity. The intricacy of the correlations between inclusive physical development and life expectations of residents are improved upon so as to show the similarities of these parameters. The analysis of the relevant literature indicated the process of enhancing the urban space and ensuring that all interest and strata of groups in the human composition are adequately cared for by employing the best parameters from the conceptualization of the city development, all the indicators of inclusiveness are well thought out.
